Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

Excellent location, near everything incl. tourist spots, food and fast food joints, shopping, bars on pink street, etc, and the wi-fi works wonderfully, rooms are fairly decent, staff is friendly! Would recommend if you plan on staying in the heart of Lisbon.

I stayed in this hotel for a week in November during the websummit. The photos put online have nothing to do with the room I got. I arrived late during the night they gave me a room on the last floor with a small window almost on the roof. When I was in tha bathroom my head was

Location is good but rooms are absolutely disgusting. Water is coming out of the front windows when is raining so the carpet in my room was wet. Tv is like 1 inch big, bathroom is really small. Everything is like in the 15th century.

The location is very good but unfortunately the rooms are very disappointing and poor value for money. They look nothing like the rooms advertised. With my friends, we had 4 rooms and all were old-fashioned, tatty and small. Staff were ok, although they did make us wait at

Be careful with this place. They’re advertising is very misleading. They show you pictures of a room with a bathroom. However when you go to check in, they supply a room with a shared bathroom. When questioned they offer you the facilities at an extra cost. (Underhanded upsale) I was travelling with my wife and 1 yr old kid. How and why would I book a room with shared bathroom facilities. When I complained to management they made out they were doing me a favour and let us stay in a (substandard) room with en suite facilities. A shamboloic hotel. And the breakfast is feeble and week. Not worth a single penny. I feel sorry for you if you’ve already booked. Sorry.

Confermo che la distanza è davvero minima. La stanza (per lo meno quella assegnata a noi) era abbastanza piccola e non c'era spazio per distanzuare i due letti.
