Usually I wouldn’t care to write this review but the comment from the day manager changed that. Be careful what you eat here. Honestly This hotel ruined a good chunk of our trip. Not only did our hotel room leak from the roof the whole time we were there, had no hot water for a day, TV didn’t work. But the worst of it all was we were only on day 2 of our trip and we were out and about all day and decided to come back to the hotel early to eat and pack up for our Madeira trip the next day. Now let me make this clear we ONLY ate breakfast at the hotel that morning and felt fine but then we spilt a burger from the hotel that evening. The burger was a little bit on the pink side but was told it was fine. NOPE !!! So around midnight I got super sick and when I mean sick… beyond sick it was definitely food poisoning. I threw up over 50x I am not exaggerating. We missed our flights to Madeira (I wouldn’t or made it) had to stay in the hotel lost so much money. I had all the symptoms of food poisoning it lasted a day and sure enough the minute I started feeling better around 3pm thats when it hit my Husband. So we know 10000% it was from the burger. But that wasn’t the issue (even though it should’ve been) When I finally could walk without getting sick went I downstairs cause my husband needed water but I just to inform the hotel as well “hey please be careful of the beef this is what happen to my husband and I and we definitely know it was from the hotel burger. Now I didn’t go down looking for anything just to simply to try and get bottles of water from the store and inform the hotel just to be careful giving anyone that beef. And you know what the manager said to me. Not oh I am sorry. He just turned to me and said “it’s not that I don’t believe you but it’s your say” like WTF are you kidding me! Why would I be making this up? We lost over $1500 missing our non refundable Madeira trip and I just came down here to warn you about the beef. And you don’t say oh jeeze I am sorry I’ll look into it, the 1st thing you say to me is “it’s not that I don’t believe you” The fact I didn’t complain about our room that has been leaking water from the ceiling for days, but now being stuck in bed sh*ting and puking, no TV or hot water for a full evening. Missing our Madeira trip. All because of an under cooked burger from the hotel and the 1st thing he says is that?? Really? He asked where I was going and I told him we needed water because we both were so dehydrated and I drank like 12 bottles all day to try and stay hydrated and not dry heave. And he says well I’ll only offer you one big water bottle. (Really…) I said no that’s fine we need a lot water because we can’t keep any thing down. So I left to get some. When I got back he told me he talked to the chef and he said burger was fine. Like come on!!! I was pissed. Clearly I made this up for what exactly?? What do I get out or it. Notning at all except ruining a huge part or my trip I planned for over a year. I wasn’t upset until how he treated the situation. I just lost a huge part of my Trip because of your hotel and I came down nicely to just tell you hey be careful. And act like I am a liar? Not a single care at all. Oh and the topper of it all when I got back to my room be called and said he will remove the burger from our Bill. And then asked if he can do something for me FINALLY!!! So I said I would love help with laundry since some of our stuff was dirty from being sick. Now at this point I am still extremely exhausted and dehydrated the walk to get a 12 bottles Of water took everything out of me. I can barely walk he said I’ll get someone to walk you to the laundry Mat. Like oh great thanks so much. Yes I understand things happen but how he treated the situation and how bad the room was and I didn’t complain about a single thing NOT even getting sick just trying to be nice so NO one else went through what we did. it took us almost a week to be fully okay again. Personally go to another hotel you can find a way better rooms than this place

Dear Ms. N S, I'm sorry to hear about your experience at Holiday Inn Lisbon. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide, and I apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. Regarding the issues with your room, the leakage, lack of hot water, and malfunctioning TV are unacceptable, and I assure you that we take such matters seriously. We will investigate these issues further to ensure they are addressed promptly. Regarding the burguer incident, I deeply regret the discomfort and inconvenience it caused you and your husband. Your concerns were valid, and I understand that you were seeking assistance and resolution during a challenging time. Once again, I apologize for the negative impact your stay had on your trip to Madeira and for any distress caused. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our services and prevent similar issues from occurring in the future. Sincerely, Alexandra Duarte | Assistant Front Office Manager

Strongly recommend this Holiday Inn at Lisbon. Great location, 10 minutes walk from metro station. The neighbourhood was very quiet. Hotel room was roomy and clean (normally it's small in Europe), comes with a nice vice, though the bathroom was small. There was wide varieties of selection of food and drink items in breakfast, one of the best so far (within budget hotels). Price was very reasonable as well, and their staff was professional and friendly.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Lisbon was a journey of highs and lows, painted against the backdrop of the city's vibrant energy. The hotel shines when it comes to service, with a welcoming reception and a seamless check-in experience that set a positive tone right from the start. Its prime location and the stunning views it offered were highlights, showcasing the beauty of Lisbon from a unique perspective. However, the experience wasn't without its flaws. A peculiar issue with the Wi-Fi connection left me relying on my data plan, as the system refused to forget a previous connection from another Lisbon Holiday Inn, despite all efforts to reset it. The lack of sound insulation was another downside, with the thin walls offering little privacy from the sounds of the corridors and adjacent rooms. Moreover, the breakfast, priced at €17 per person, fell short of providing good value, and the small beds hardly accommodated two regular-sized adults comfortably, forcing us into a less-than-ideal sleeping arrangement. The checkout process also left much to be desired, feeling rushed and impersonal. The receptionist's haste, lack of communication, and failure to present the bill or engage in any parting pleasantries added a disappointing end to our stay. While the Holiday Inn Lisbon excels in some areas, these shortcomings significantly impacted the overall experience, reminding travelers that even familiar brands can vary greatly from one location to another.

Do NOT stay here . . . . . if you like to sleep. The staff chuckle as the hoards of Chinese brats turn the breakfast area into a kindergarten. The elevator machinery reverberate throughout the building (I am a structural engineer) even for rooms no where nearby. The walls are paper thin so gossipy Portugese housewives can be heard all night. I brought all this to the attention of Ms. Duarte, Manager, who simply said there was nothing she could to help us after 5 sleepless nights. To make matters worse, look at our photos of the 3rd world bathroom condition, and better yet, the inane stupidity of an "in room" fitness regime to encourage people to thump up and down on the floor making MORE noise !!!!

Quite centrally located in an archaic building with modern amenities. Rooms are spacious, and particularly our room had two king (or queen?) sized beds and a large corridor. It was at 9th floor and view of the city was awesome. Bathroom is also spacious, and there is a long corridor inside the room giving an old Portugese feeling. Breakfast was usual, but tasty with many choices. Of course Portugal is the place for foodies, so one rarely eats in the hotel. But, restaurant in the hotel serves basic purpose. Staff is kind, and place is accessible easily from city centre as well as airport.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Lisbon for a few nights while traveling through Portugal on vacation with two adults and a toddler. We chose this location as it was one of the only hotels allowing us to book a triple occupancy room with points. As an IHG platinum elite, we were assigned a top floor room with a great city view and offered a welcome gift of points or a single drink. The standard sofa bed room was average sized and allowed ample space to set up our toddler cot. The location is great with several easily walkable metro stops and an urban rail station nearby as well as restaurants, but still easy easy to get in and out of the city by car. Parking is easy underground below the hotel. The staff was great, especially the dinner staff who were very friendly with our daughter. The hotel definitely is older and rooms could use some TLC - our shower leaked through the glass into the bathroom, the room phone did not work, and our room was not cleaned one day and trash was not removed despite requesting it from the front desk. We would stay again for the location if using points.

After having stayed 2 times in the last 3 weeks at this Holliday Inn, I must say I am so glad I chose this hotel. IHG and Holliday Inn have never disappointed me. And this was another great experience while in Lisbon. To start with, let me thank to Fernando from reception, who has been a true start during my check-in in these two times. Fernando stroke me with his humility and gentle smile. Always ready to help the guests. I enjoyed my stays at Holliday Inn Lisbon. The location is great. Located in great area of the city, close to metro and buses, as well as many local shops, cafes and restaurants. Close by you will also find several entertainment options such as live concerts (at campo pequeno), Bingo (at Bingo O Belenenses) or XXX. The hotel is not brand new, nevertheless, you can find many amenities typical of an IHG hotel. For me, the rooftop swimming pool with an almost 360-degree view is one of the best spots at the hotel. Together with a cold cocktail in a hot day, you can relax and enjoy while sun tanning and reading a book. I recommend you come prepared with your bikini/board shorts even if you travel in late October (i enjoy sunny days with 20-something degrees a lot) The breakfast is also good. Ok selection of food and drinks, and possibility to get some take-away coffee for the best start of the day. The hotel has a huge parking, great connection with local taxi drivers who arrive in less 4 minutes to the hotel, and a good overall vibe. At the same time the hotel is closed to the airport and you can expect a 10 min ride in the early morning, or about 16/17 minutes with the afternoon traffic.

It's just not worth it to stay at this hotel. Breakfast is truly awful and it's worn down. I'm not sure how they made it taste and look so bad. It was only the bananas that were edible Moreover, the welcoming was just average, and I expected more as an IHG Diamond member. The receptionists, two guys, thought we didn't understand Portuguese and told one another not to bother with an upgrade because they didn't want to deal with it. Even if you like us, don't stay one night for a connecting flight
