    A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

    Nice stay
    We booked one of the biggest room, very nicely decorated and equiped. However the bathroom is too small and so not convenient. We regret the heater was not working. Delicious breakfast but needs to be taken in the bistro next to the hotel. Also no bar in the hotel.

    fantastic!!
    Loved this hotel!! perfect location, modern, clean, nice staff, the rooms are very nice, kind of cool, with the mac pc and the marshall sound system. Would stay here again and would recomend to friends traveling to Lisbon.

    Friendly staff. Nice central location and a lovely room. What more could you want?! Booked a deluxe room after reading reviews. Was a great room. Stylish with nice little touches like the Marshall speaker. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful... would def recommend

    Is this a good hotel for a toddler of 1.5yrs? Thanks
    The hotel is city centre and doesn't have any "outdoor space" really, so I'd say no to bringing young children. You walk straight out onto the very busy street.

    Do you provide an airport pick-up service to your hotel and transportation to the cruise terminal the next day? And how much would both ways cost? Thank you. Regards John
    A bus from the airport to the Rossio train station is 2 euro, and it is a short walk from there to the hotel. A taxi to the cruise terminal can't cost very much.

    Is there car parking in hotel or in close proximity
    Dear Vicki A, Parking in the historical downtown area of Lisbon can be tricky. Most of the streets are only for residents and parking can be very difficult to find. The hotel does not have car park and the hotel street car park is only allowed for residents However there are some underground car parkings in the area.     How much is a taxi to hotel from airport
    Uber from Airport 17 Euros max. Uber is cheaper than taxies in Lisboa and maybe friendlier to travelers due to the bilingual staffed drivers Uber is providing globally.
