Rarely does a hotel meet all of your needs. Staying at Verride Palacio for the past 6 days was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The location is perfect, hotel is immaculate and the staff is AMAZING! I've stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world and this one is definitely at the top. From an absolutely delicious breakfast every morning with great service, the different selection of cake and cookies every day, fabulous restaurant and amazing rooftop terrace for cocktails at sunset while enjoying gorgeous views - everything was perfect. Every single staff member was super attentive and helpful with anything I needed. They went above and beyond giving me directions each day, and suggested great sites to see, restaurants, and shops, through out my stay. This is one of the best luxury hotels in Lisbon. A small sized hotel with a palace chic atmosphere where the staff knows your name and will treat you like family making you feel welcome every step of your stay. True hospitality! At the restaurant it was a superb experience. The staff is incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing and most importantly the food is divine! We had a food tasting menu with wine pairing which was great and we left the restaurant extremely happy! This is a must visit… A night to remeber and to repeat.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. And, the staff is amazing. Everyone was so pleasant, everyday. The Verride Palacio Santa Catarina is obviously a wonderful place to work, as well as stay. Every employee treated us as though we were their most important guests. We felt like royalty. Thank you all for such a wonderful 7 day stay! One of our best hotel experiences.

As a well traveled and seasoned international traveler I consider myself adequately qualified to write an objective review on this overpriced and over rated hotel. Whereas the room was modern and more than adequate size, below are some of the negative observations that I found most frustrating. 1) The main lighting control for the room is ancient and very poorly positioned in the narrow entrance to the room, situated about 1 meter high. It was not possible to read the the poorly highlighted designated dime sized black switch without having to virtually lie on the floor. I question why this panel was not positioned at eye level. 2) There was not one wall socket to enable one to charge an IPhone, I Pad and / or computer. In fact the coffee maker, desk lamp and other power cords had to be removed from the fully used electrical floor sockets to allow for the use of an adapter / cable charger. 3) The so called clothes closet was only about 24 inches wide, and totally inadequate. 4) The open bathroom shower was complicated to use, made even worse by round wall controls that were difficult turn with wet hands. 5) The so called city view was of the back street adjoining houses and streets with an old toilet bowl directly on the roof opposite our room. 6) On inspection I immediately asked if another room was available to which I never received any response or acknowledgement from the hotel management during our stay. This hotel is a amazing and the staff are all extraordinary. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such warmth by the staff. The rooms and the amenities were top notch and the food at the restaurant for breakfast downstairs was great. The hotel will do anything and everything you need to make your stay better, need a dinner reservation, a rental car a city tour whatever they will handle it. Overall it was superb!

I stopped by here on a whim and decided to stay for a night at the tail end of a road trip, and have to admit that I was slightly disappointed. The entrance to the hotel is very impressive, with a sweeping staircase spiralling upwards from the reception - but the truth is that barring a nicely appointed lounge area on the second floor, the rest of the recently-renovated property isn't quite as nice. The rooms are perfectly comfortable, but I felt that overall the price is far too much for what it has to offer.

Its a gem interior design wise. The suites are the most stunning I have ever seen. Its a very luce place done with a passion for beauty. The beds are incredible and the bath mats abd towels the most amazing quality. The restaurant on the top floor is very good and the chef is extremely talented. The roof top is great with views over Lisbon where you can also have a bite. There is a tiny pool at the breakfast area which is not really a pool to lie at and get a sunbed, I see it rather as a deco pool. Location is very good and they take care of your car if needed. Sometimes service is not at the level it should be for such a luxe place unfortunately but it seems to be a problem everywhere these days.

This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely square up on the hilltop looking out over Lisbon to the water. The service we received from all the staff was exemplary. Our room was luxurious and very spacious. Super comfortable beds and great amenities. The breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel and served at your table in the most exquisite way. The small pool was lovely to relax by and enjoy the great views across the city. Rooftop bar was great for cocktails. I cannot fault this hotel and can so highly recommend it. I hope to return one day soon.

Overall, we had mixed feelings about this hotel. There are some good features and some bad features but overall we would not stay again. Firstly a basement room is €500 euro per night lacking privacy and not provided with an upgrade despite on booking being informed if a higher class of room is available they offer complimentary upgrades. We had to book this room initially due to availability at the time of booking. The bathroom also had mould in it which is rather unpleasant. We had booked a higher class of room for the latter part of our stay, we could see that the room was then available from the beginning on arrival but they would not move us there despite offering to pay more. Following a lot of discussion with the team, being given pork when I informed I was allergic twice to the team, and a few other inconveniences I was offered to move into the room booked at 23.00 the following day. Overall some nice features to the hotel but definitely not worth the money, we would choose to stay in the Four Seasons for the same cost per night. Pros - Superior river room had a great view (price 900 euro per night) - Breakfast is good (but be aware that this is served as a multiple-course “experience”, not a buffet or a la carte, which we would have preferred) - Comfortable bed in the river room with nice bed linen and towels - Sweet treat with turndown service - Great view from the rooftop - Small outdoor pool (but very cold) - Aesop toiletries Cons - Bica rooms are dark and lack privacy with a mould in the bathroom - No gym or spa, option to go to nearby gym with minimal facilities for 50 euro per day (very expensive for the area) - No regard for food allergies - Poor quality of room service menu - No mini bar services - Phones don’t work majority of the time - Untimely fire alarms at 0900 in the morning - Pedestrian only streets, make sure you ask for code advance of taxi / Uber use to access property - Ordered wine which was not opened and no bottle opener provided - Concierge recommendations were not in line with what we would expect for a properly of this calibre - often 3.5 or below on Google reviews with average reputations - Untimely response prior to arrival and from the concierge / what’s app service on arrival.…

From the moment we arrived at the doorstep of this quietly elegant hotel, we knew we were in good hands. Although it was quite early and our room was not yet ready, we were ushered into the lovely salon and offered coffee and breakfast. Soon thereafter our room was prepared, and it was among the most beautiful we've stayed in. Light flooding in from three sides, a balcony on which to sit and have a drink and watch the moon rise over the river. Beautifully appointed (fluffy towels, lovely tub and shower, bottles of water) without being stuffy or ostentatious. And quiet at night. Really, everything was perfect and the people who work here could not be kinder or more helpful. The location itself could not be more compelling. After many hours of navigating across and through the city center, it was always a highlight to return to this oasis of peace set above the hubbub in a quiet enclave overlooking the river.
