Kimpton De Witt is the first Kimpton hotel outside the Americas, a true debut in Europe. The hotel is situated in the heart of Amsterdam's vibrant city centre and near Amsterdam’s Centraal station. Set within three original Renaissance-era buildings, it features 274 guest rooms, including 15 signature rooms and suites, and eight meeting rooms. Wyers Bar & Restaurant, offers American comfort food with a Dutch twist. In line with Kimpton’s innovative and playful approach to design, the hotel features a “house within a hotel” – a four-storey ‘Little House’ which was once the childhood home of Dutch playwright, P.C. Hooft and dates back to the 1640s.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

First time in Amsterdam and the hotel was 100%. The staff were friendly, location was perfect, especially if you’re getting the train in which is only 3mins walk. The tram is also right outside the door. The front desk was always staffed well. A couple of little things we

Well, I'm staying here now and yesterday when I arrived to check in, the staff said it's not ready for my room so she will call me when it's ready(that time was around 1:50pm. She said it will be ready between 3pm to 4. I waited for and went out. I got a call that it's ready

Dear Pontde12, Thank you for reviewing our hotel on TripAdvisor. I am sorry to read you did not like the room allocation within the hotel. The hotel being in downtown Amsterdam is located on alleys and the main street and has mostly rooms overlooking other buildings or the hotel itself on the courtyard. I wished you would have contacted the Manager on Duty so we could have assisted you in looking what would have suited your wishes better. I do hope that when you return to Amsterdam you do consider staying with us again. Kind regards, Maurice Janssen Assistant General Manager

We stayed in this hotel, one year ago, and we were very impressed. That is the reason we went back again. However this year we were not impressed, the ongoing construction was very inconvient. We were meeting construction staff in the corridors. The cards we were given to

I stayed at the Kimpton deWitt in fall of 2018. Plus - great location if you are on business and need easy access to the central train station for a one day trip. Con - impersonal and bland lobby and rooms that don’t make you feel excited about being in an edgy city like

While the hotel was beautiful, with a fun South Beach vibe, the service was incredibly disappointing. The hotel had construction going on adjacent to hotel rooms during all hours - even on weekend morning, which was incredibly disruptive. The service team was unapologetic and

Planning a trip to Keukenhof Gardens next month ! How easy is it to get to from this hotel ?
EASY... this hotel is the best decision you can make.. it’s beyond full service... stop by the concierge and ask Samantha or one of the other helpful smiling faces, and they will help you not only book tickets for the Gardens, but will also book your train ticket and give you detailed instructions on how to get there and how to get back. It’s an easy day trip and well worth your time this time of year. Enjoy!

Planning a visit next month to Tulp gardens How easy on public transport to get there please ?
If you’re referring to the Keukenhof, train would indeed would be the most practical as *** said above. I’d recommend getting an OV-Chipaart when you arrive at Grand station; essentially an inexpensive PAYG travel card which you top up and use throughout NL for most public transport. It saves the time an effort of queuing to purchase individually at each station. However, if you would favour practically, then you’d be able to find an Uber there and back though I suspect it would be about €40-50 each way. Hope you have a great trip! Kimpton is a great choice of hotel, too! :)

The best way is to take train to Amsterdam Centraal, it will be faster than taxi. The hotel is about 7 min walk from the Central Station.
