On arrival to a hotel, I always check the bed. The duvet cover was washed, but stained, including one large ink stain. There are also small visible stains under the sheet I am trying not to think about. The rooms are very warm (winter) and the temperature cannot be regulated. All of this I could have accepted for a budget hotel In Lausanne. But at around 8pm, the noise started. It’s not that loud, but it’s constant and sounds like a faulty fridge motor or a concrete drill. The floor is vibrating and it sounds like it’s coming from the pipes. I called reception, I went down to reception, was told technicians will look into it. Nothing. It is almost 10:30pm and it is still going. It is somehow quieter with the window open and the traffic noise. There will be no sleep tonight. …
Good location but the hotel is showing it's age. The room was clean and the staff friendly (I got to the hotel quite late so it was actually the restaurant staff that checked me in.) On a busy street and even with the window closed you hear quite a bit. If you're not a sound sleeper bring ear plugs or avoid this hotel.
Convenient for the metro, descent location for most things. Rooms are small but clean and perhaps could do with AC as it’s too noisy to open windows. The staff are just incredibly rude and everything is too much trouble for them. Why go into the hospitality business if customers are a major inconvenience? They wanted to give me a bill before I had even ordered and when I asked about breakfast I was apparently an idiot.
The location is great indeed: walking distance to the city centre (please note that Lausanne is all up-and-down, so when you go down, then you have to climb back up:-) and the tube station Ours is literally at your feet. It is clear that rooms have been recently redecorated and renovated, but materials were probably not too good, and some pieces are already broken or not so well fixed from the start. Staff is kind, but forget to check in before midday, and midday might be a problem too, as they are all busy in the restaurant. In short: location and prices are good, rooms are simply ok and organization has to be improved. But all that said, the overall experience is not too negative. And you can always have a great cappuccino and fresh croissants in the café at the opposite corner...…
I got a single room the size of a shoe box. There was no ceiling fan. The bed was placed directly under the window and when opened it took 10 cm of a small bed. The first night was awful. I could not extend into bed. The morning after breakfast was 15 min delayed. I tried to talk to the staff about any room move or just a recognition of the problem. They denied everything. The night after, I had to move the bed out of the window. Here I found mold along the wall. I again tried to talk with the hotel and the manager and they would still not acknowledge the problems. When I was checking out, the hotel staff got angry at me because I didn't wanted to hide my dissatisfaction of the experience. I NEVER NEVER USE THIS HOTEL
