The hotel is in the city center near the cathedral and beside the metro station I liked the design and the comfort of the room I can recommend the rooms in th higher levels on the cathedralside to have a nice view. Hotel is very clean and modern The "fitness" is really strange and not so useful. Hotel is also equipped with a Sauna I would recomend
Our 9th night in Switzerland. Each day we said we liked that hotel better than the ones before. That ended today. The room is okay, and the bathroom though small is okay, but there is only a fan, and the room is very hot. We have also bragged about how friendly, and helpful the staffs have been, but sadly the girl at check in acted like we were an inconvenience for her. Well situated to tour old town.
The Hotel Swiss Wine makes it obvious that Lausanne is a 3-Dimensional City. The Interior has a modern flavour with a Wine theme throughout, I found it pleasing. Staff was friendly and helpful. I could park my Bicycle in a neat spot in the Lobby. Breakfast Buffet 6:30 until 10:30 with the usual meals, at 20,- CHF typical swiss price and standard. Room 409 had excellent view through 2 windows, the windows were very soundproof so no traffic noise when closed. Bed comfortable, small desk, wine themed cork-stool instead of a chair, funny and usable. Nice Sauna on floor -2, good for 2 horizontal or 4-5 sitting visitors, with enough steam it reaches 90°C. Large Sofa-like furniture for resting after the sauna, quite an idea but it works. Fitness-Gear is quite unique made from wood and the resistance comes from paddles rotating in a water tank, interesting. Compared to the Agora Swiss Night, Swiss Wine wins on Location and Views from the Room, looses a bit on breakfast buffet and Views from the Restaurant/Breakfast Area (City instead of Lake & Mountains).…
A good selection for the price-everything is near metro buses shopping area Restaurants A nice gesture by the Swiss hotel they give you a free card for all transports The rooms are comfortable without air conditioning You can skip the breakfast not worthy but have a coffee at the breakfast Area just for the Incredible view
I was booked here for a business trip and was on a non-refundable reservation, UNFORTUNATELY. Upon arriving, I was advised that given the Geneva triathlon weekend, the double room I reserved is not available and I had to pay CHF1,200 (!!!) PER NIGHT for the weekend for a SINGLE room!!! Breakfast NOT included. I had to take the 2 remaining single rooms since we needed to pay the fees regardless and one of the rooms had no airconditioning. As if adding insult to injury, both rooms were located inconveniently above and below a flight of stairs! I had to deposit my luggage of 35kg with the receptionist as there was no way I could carry them up the flight of stairs to my room. Since the booking CANNOT BE CANCELLED WITHOUT CHARGES, they offered to transfer us to another partner hotel for a proper double occupancy room for the next day onwards FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE. Imagine spending CHF3,500 on a shabby hotel for a week! THIS IS A TOURIST’S WORST NIGHTMARE. I wish I had researched more before I confirmed my booking with our company travel agent. Be warned.…
