What a gem Villa Maria is!!
It’s a lovely unmanned (as in no reception desk, just very easy self check in) hotel with very spacious, modern, clean rooms. The beds were super comfortable with the fluffiest doonas and pillows imaginable. It was like sleeping in a cloud.
The rooms have views over the lake (well the two rooms we had did) and it’s a comfortable picturesque walk along the lake side into town.
Can’t recommend highly enough. We didn’t want to leave.

The staff were extremely helpful when I wanted to change my reservation, which had been done through a 3rd party.
The lounge and the kitchen in the basement meant that you could make breakfast or simple meals if you wanted to.
The rooms were comfortable and clean and were serviced daily.
It was a quick trip into the old town or the train station on the buses or a 1/2hour flat walk. The city of Lucern enables free bus travel during your stay which is a great bonus to visitors.

When I arrived, I had a problem checking in, I called reception who responded immediately and it was resolved in less than 2 minutes. The room was clean, spacious. Small snacks (coffee capsules, cups, glasses, spoons, tea and sugar) are present as well as a minibar which are replenished daily. The only downside and why I didn't give it 5 stars: the noise! Room on the road side, with the very noisy tram line which runs until late at night (past midnight!). There is also a kind of ventilation that is activated when you are in the bathroom and it does not turn off quickly. Other than that, I had a very good stay there and I recommend it.

Hotel Villa Maria is very clean and easily accessible from the trail that goes around the lake. Quiet location. Beautiful, peaceful room and comfortable bed. Easy check in process. You can take a bus from the train station, a boat from the train station and then walk half mile or so, or walk about 2 miles from the train station.

Beautiful location, great room, very clean and spacious, very friendly welcome and care during our stay. The breakfast at the Hotel Séjour was very extensive, including vegan milk alternatives. We would come back again and again and can highly recommend Villa Maria!

A little break at Villa Maria is like a short trip abroad! All you need is a super comfortable bed, no TV and a working coffee machine! Breakfast at the Hotel beau sejour is a must for everyone....sensational regional delicacies and super friendly people who make the egg à la cocotte even more perfect...always a pleasure

Nice surprise on our arrival with the very large bedroom in the attic. New, modern furniture, light parquet flooring, white woodwork, new bathroom, sofa, dining area with coffee machine, kettle, tea, coffee...Very beautiful and very clean. Bay windows on the lake and mountain side opening onto a private terrace, view and peace. 10 minutes walk from the transport museum, car parked in a large car park in front of the hotel. No difficulty encountered with the Self Check-in.

We stayed one night in Lucerne and were very satisfied. Beds comfortable. Quiet, clean, loving details. Fly screens so you could leave the windows open. Ceck-In did not work online, but was then very straightforward by phone. Parking within walking distance. Stop to unload directly in front of the house. Thank you so much!

Overall good place to stay with good view and great location , walking distance from train station saves bus fares. You could walk the famous promenade straight to the villa. Bed was comfy and blankets fluffy.

Yes, it is very expensive in Lucerne, and all over Switzerland for that matter. However the scenery makes up for it. The breakfast at Villa Maria was great so you can fill up there in the morning. We went to Coop and bought snacks and picnic stuff because it is much more fun to eat while looking at amazing scenery. We bought a Swiss Rail pass and I would highly recommend it. It covers boats, trains, buses, etc. Have fun!
