Spotless from the point of cleanliness, excellent position overlooking Löwenplatz & about 2 minute walk from/to the lake (views to die for!). I was on the 5th floor, so whilst there didn't appear to be any air-con it wasn't an issue as the window could be left open all night to give some air. The noise from bars/restaurants turning out at 11pm/12am wasn't an issue. I would go there again. Check-in is 100% self-service at a device on the ground floor although the hotel next door has a reception which supports any issues, according to the signs. We had breakfast there, but no issues. The rooms are rather bland (could use a little hotel comfort maybe eg picture on the wall of the lake perhaps), but other than than a very good price for a very good location. There are lots of restaurants around and a Coop next door (open until 7pm) with some cheaper eats if desired).

The room was clean and spacious and beds were decent. Breakfast is at Hotel de la Paix and has an excellent spread. Good choices available for vegetarians too.
Location is great- walking distance to the station, lion monument and the Chapel bridge.
Now coming to the not so great parts:
1) At the time of booking, I did not notice that the room has no air conditioning. Please check that before you book. Travelers from the US assume air conditioning is available everywhere. The room temperature was okay after left the window open (but that exposes you to the noise from the street below)
2) The bathroom exhaust did not work well. Not acceptable in my opinion.
3) The Hotel does not have anyone at the reception. The reception is at Hotel de la Paix which very close (apparantly the two hotels have a commmon management). This is a slight inconvenience

Herzlichen dank für ihre ausführliche bewertung und kommentar über unserer hotel. Aus self checken hotel ist es selbstverständlich dass sie beim einschecken keine mitarbeiter sehen. Es kann gut möglich sein dass sie die mitarbeiter bei der reinigung und selbstverständlich beim frühstück dann treffen ich hoffe dass dies so passiert ist denn sie werden sie alle mit einem lächeln begrüssen. Ja wir haben keine klimaanlage, Wir haben uns dazu entschlossen in jedes zimmer einen ventilator zu platzieren um während den heißen sommertagen etwas mehr komfort für unsere gäste zu bieten. Natürlich hört man den strassenlärm bei geöffnetem fenste Dies hatte es so an sich wenn man ein hotel in herzender statt bucht. Dafür sind sie in nur wenigen oder kurzen schritten gleich im zentrum und im ort des geschehens von Luzern. Wer wird uns sehr freuen sie bei einer anderen klebenheit wieder bei uns willkommen zu heißen und wir wünschen ihnen jetzt schon eine gute anreise.

You won't be finding any staff in the evening hours, service is difficult to get. It gets deserted in the night hours. Location is good, breakfast is ok and staff is very stiff and unfriendly.

Great central hotel. Asked for a quiet room when booking and got 306 which was great. Breakfast at De La Paix hotel next door was great and the food at De La Paix hotel restaurant (Restaurant Lapin) was excellent! Best ravioli I've ever tasted! The only problem and reason for 4 stars not 5 was the room temperature. I was in Luzern in April when it was 5-8 degrees outside yet the room was more like 25 degrees! Thankfully I had a large fan in the room which helped but I had to open the window during the night which isn't ideal. I would not stay here in the warm summer months due to this.

Location and cleanliness are very good. The rest is poor. It is an extremely old hotel with very little maintenance. Rusty everywhere. Bathroom warning says “ don’t let the water go to the living area”. Breakfast at the next hotel is mediocre. The general feeling at this unstaffed hotel is a mixture of weird and creepy.

I am not shure weather you stayed in the Ambassador Self Checkin Hotel. This Hotel has been renovated last in 2020, with a totally new exterior fassade. Thank you for your comments about the breakfast in adjacent Building. We do our best concerning Price/Quality also for Breakfast. In our continental Breakfast Buffet you can select between: Kaffee, Espresso, Cappucino, Milk, Orange Juice, Multivitamin Juice, Apple Juice, Cold Cuts (Ham, Aufschnitt, Salami, Turkey), various Cheese, different Jams, Honey, Fresh Fruits, Joghurt selection, Cereals, Cold Eggs, Vegetable, Traditional Lucerne Sourdough Bread, Five Corn Bread, Croissant, Toast and....huch, sorry so many items. Great position at end of one of main streets in the old town of Lucerne.
Easy self check in. We arrived early so stored our bags on lockers for 2 euros.
Lucerne is a beautiful city with an old town feel. We visited Angela Rosengart Museum to view Picasso & Klee.
It was wonderful & walking distance from our hotel.
Very modern decor, great shower & bathroom. Spotless beds & great tv. I’d stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel in May 2004. This hotel is in nice location in terms of Railway station, hotels, attractions, restaurants, etc.
When we booked this hotel we had booked for 2 people and this was confirmed with hotel by phone prior to our arrival but when we arrived they said it was booked only for 1 person and we would have to pay for second person. We had booking confirmation printout and when we protested they agreed to waive extra charges.
Other than this incident rest of our stay was fine.

The hotel was quite quite horrible the rooms were very small and cramped. The bed took up the entire room and there was no place to walk around if you kept the window open. The staff were megre. The receptionst doubled up as a waitresss!!!!
The location was central but lucerne is quite mall and everything is circular around the lake and railway stn so there are very few streets that are not central.
Pleas avoid this hotel if on holiday.

In order to get up as we will need to get you E-Mail an we will send the link to you two days prior to arrival. The bus pass is of course free of charge.
