It was a perfect stay in the heart of Lucerne. This beautifully designed property, crafted by architect Jean Nouvel, impressed us in every aspect. The wallpaper on the room's walls added a unique touch to the overall ambiance, and it perfectly suited for this destination 😉.

Although the room was of average size, it was thoughtfully occupied with all the necessary amenities. One highlight was the blackout window, which my friend needed for a good night's sleep.

The hotel's location was ideal for those seeking a bit of peace away from the crowd, and it was conveniently situated next to a food street brimming with restaurants. We ended up in a delightful Moroccan restaurant for dinner.

The morning breakfast was not only delicious but also served in a very presentable manner. Hotel the Lucerne Autograph Collection truly provided a memorable and enjoyable stay. It is more suitable for couples than for business travelers. I would highly recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a well-rounded experience in Lucerne.

There are many positives to this hotel. It is in a wonderful location, minutes away from the water and the railroad station. It is ultra modern and beautifully designed. Everything works and there are many amenities, including upscale toiletries, thick thirsty bath robes, slippers, and thirsty towels. There is a nice supply of hangers although the closet shelves do not allow for any long clothing. It was designed by architect Jean Nouvel who loves French movies, so every room ceiling is covered with a painting of a scene from a film. Very interesting touch! The blinds are automatic and really block out the sun. The mattresses and pillows are not very soft but we slept comfortably. The included breakfasts are ample with both a buffet and food to order, such as eggs and waffles. The staff is friendly and eager to please. Highly recommended

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is in a situated in the quiet part of the city near a beautiful park and a short walk to the train station and the old city.

The hotel rooms are clean and a good size, with spacious bathrooms. The bed was comfortable and there was a nespresso machine in the room.

In my opinion, there are some improvements to be made:
- Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, but can be added for a costly 30 CHF per person. This is not the norm in most European hotels I’ve visited, so it was slightly inconvenient to find a place for just a coffee and croissant each morning.
-The blinds in the room can only be wide open or set to “black out”. This makes it impossible to have natural lighting and privacy simultaneously. With the late sunsets in the summer, you’re left with the choice of going to bed in daylight or waking up in pitch black. I can imagine this would make these especially difficult for travelers with jet lag.
- There is only one elevator for the entire building, including the staff. This leads to very crowded and slow elevators.

Stayed two nights the staff was very friendly and the location is in a quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes from the train station. Short walk over to old town

Room was very large and well appointed. The only bad thing was the lighting as not very good and the windows did not have blinds or drapes which made light at night a little bit of an issue

Overall great location and staff with a large room with some quirks

As an ambassador member of the Marriot Bonvoy loyalty program for several years i am very well aware of what an acceptable experience with a hotel should be. In the era where customer service ius so important, the front office manager of this hotel is a very rude person who in my opinion does not belong in any position that is customer facing. Let alone being a manager, thisn is a joke and i should hope marriot go and check on this property owner and decide if the service is acceptable.

I called up hoping for an upgrade, I regularly do this and often the property is willing to accommodate.

This lady recited me the rules, after that when i asked to get a call back from the gm she refused it and said she would not ask him to do i that and that he would say the same thing. I don't understand why so many people love to say that line. I have a right to speak to a GM but she would not allow it and she also seems to know what someone else will say, perhaps she is a mind reader, i wonder if she knows what a GM thinks why she isn't one.

I actually might call her back and ask her if she knows what next weeks lottery numbers will be.

Anyway after i was explaining my right for this to be escalated to him she hung up the phone just after she refused give me her name when i told her i would like to make a complaint on her actions.

She literally told me she will no longer continue the call and wuill hang up and then did, WOW who has the guts to di that when representing a global brand that she does not own but does have a contracted requirement not to devalue.

I have written to Marriott head office with my experience and hope they will consider letting go of their relationship altogether with these operators. It is not on, i deserve better with the loyalty i have given with over 100 nights only by July and another 10 nights booked this week.

I also asked for a copy of the phone call recording but the property said they do not record, i find that very convenient and not sure of they are being truthful, maybe they are, maybe thats why the manager felt she can ask and say whatever she wants. I would love ti make a joke abut why she was in such a bad mood. but i won't in case its used against me.

her manager has been very good and has written to me for most things with good manners however no where has she mentioned the bad actions of her college or any apology.

I hope the GM and Marriot Head office take this more seriously and the lady has very strong actions taken.

I also hope the train the staff better with logical and obviously things being told to all about what can and cant be said and what actions are not acceptable in a very competitive hospitality industry.

Anyway i hope none of you face this issue but i am confident you will if you speak to this front office manager.

Response from Manager The Hotel, Geschäftsführer at The Hotel Lucerne, Autograph Collection
Responded Jul 11, 2023
Dear Guest, Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I regret to learn that we have fallen short in meeting your expectations. It looks like this is a misunderstanding. Our Front Office Manager is great and always providing service excellence. This is why she has been voted as Front of Manager of the year recently. Furthermore, we have exceptionally good rates for staff service, far above the average. We are well known for our customer service since we always provide service excellence. We will be best prepared for your upcoming stay and are confident that you will have a great time in Lucerne. Best regards and see you soon, Marc Lechmann General Manager

This hotel has a good location and very helpful staff. The room and bathroom were large by European standards (we had a cot for our son), but no drawers for actual storing of clothes. There was a small hanging area and a few shelves plus a desk. Yes, it was dark even with all of the lighting. We were by the elevator but never heard another guest. In room was a small fridge and Nespresso machine, along with bathrobes for all. The buffet breakfast had a nice selection of breads, cheese, yogurt, fruit and included eggs made to order.

This was our first time staying in an Autograph Hotel and we are loyal to Bonvoy. The property is modern in a bizarre sort of way. It’s very dark and there is nowhere to unpack since the closet only holds a few items but there are no drawers and one small shelf. There’s very poor lighting, which was annoying and made it hard to see.

But, the staff is just amazing! A few days before I arrived, I was emailing with some of the staff, who responded to my questions right away. Once we arrived, they all were so helpful with recommendations for dinners, day trips, transportation, reservations, etc…. They went above and beyond. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary, which I mentioned in an email, and when we arrived, our room was decorated with hearts and flower petals on the bed. It was so nice.

The hotel is a four minute walk from the train station and five minutes from Old Town.

Our stay at The Hotel in Lucerne was like home away from home because of Vanessa (restaurant manager) and Florian who helped us check-in. Vanessa’s customer service and professionalism were excellent and she ensured we had a great eating experience. We felt taken cared of and her attention to detail was exemplary, she even remembered our drink orders! You were amazing thank you Vanessa!!! Florian was friendly and warm, coming in from a long trip we were tired and he made the check-in quick and efficient. We also appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel, we felt so comfortable. The location is great, about a 10-20m walk to the great sights like chapel bridge and lion monument which made it a lot easier to explore the city with a stroller!

The Hotel team in Lucerne Switzerland single-handedly saved our honeymoon from ending on a dismal note and made it nothing short of magical, with the strongest desire to return. A high note indeed. We are quite delayed in sending our gratitude for all that the staff of this wonderful hotel did, led by none other than their General Manager, Marc Lechmann, taking the reigns to ensure our happiness. Initially, we booked at another hotel, online, that advertised a 5 star experience. In reality, we found ourselves checking into an economy basic environment. With a bit of fancy footwork, we wiggled out of the disappointing hotel down the street and found our dream team at The Hotel. The Hotel is part of the boutique Marriott Autograph Collection. The General Manager along with staff members Mareika and Sarah made our experience everything we could have wished for and more. Not every guest of this hotel will be on their honeymoon; nonetheless, the service and attention to detail are sure to leave everyone, regardless of their journey in life, with a smile on their face. Particularly in these unusually tough times with the world attempting to find a sense of normalcy again, rest assured that peace, tranquility, and a great sense of good old fashioned wonderful awaits you at The Hotel in Lucerne, Switzerland. Cheers from Greg and Kelley Morris - Summerfield, NC - U.S.A.
