Detailed Reviews
The hotel is close to the train station and the Lucerne lake, and staff is friendly, but that's all the good that can be said about the hotel. The room did come with a small balcony, which was nice, but the room decor could be turned into something more pleasant. The paid breakfast has too few options, and either they should increase the options or reduce the price of the breakfast (in fact, make it free, considering the few options). The hotel has an elevator, so no need to climb stairs for those who can't.

We visited for 2 night in April. As a family of four we arrived about 11 a.m. after an overnight trip in from the U.S. We were very happy to learn that our room was already ready so we could freshen up to enjoy the first day of our trip. Our room had plenty of space for a family of 4 and a huge wrap around balcony that faced a lovely little square. When the balcony doors were closed, you could not hear a peep of street noise. The location is in a great part of Lucerne close to the Lucerne Lion as well as the water and the main shopping area. We didn't get a chance to eat in the restaurant but everyone who we encountered in the hotel was wonderful. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lucerne. It's a great choice!

+1
When we first arrived at Room 550 (top floor), we were a little disappointed, having previously come from a very pleasant alpine hotel. With its laminate floor and tiny bathroom, it was a little basic (think Travelodge in you are in the UK), but it grew on us. The bed was the comfiest we'd had on our journey through Switzerland, although the pillows were soft, flat and offered no support. (It seems pillows in all Swiss hotels are the same). The shower was the best we've had for a long time, and we had a full sized bath. Be aware that there is no kettle or fridge, but there is a free safe to use.
It was so quiet at night - no loud noises, human or traffic, even though the hotel overlooks a busy junction, and is just around the corner from the main shopping street. The door onto the small balcony effectively kept out all the street sounds.
Breakfast was very civilized, held in the hotel's evening restaurant. Not the most massive choice, but everything we had was lovely. Generous window for breakfast too, from 7-10am.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes' walk from any major sight, be it the lakefront, chapel bridge, castle walls or lion monument. If you want a no-frills value hotel in good location, you might want to consider this one.

We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. The location is about 10 min walk from the train station, very near the lion statue, and on a street with lots of shopping and cafes. The bright color scheme in the room was cheery. The room was basic but featured everything we needed and was a decent size. There was no kettle/coffee maker or coffee/tea provided, but we asked at reception and were able to borrow a kettle. Our room had two very cute little walk out balconies with great views of the city and mountains. The breakfast was on the small side, but featured high quality items, including good bread, cheeses, and meats, some dried fruit and hazelnuts, and king's bread. There is an elevator to take your bags upstairs. The hotel reception was very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English.

We stayed here for one night as part of our Grand Train Tour of Switzerland and one night was enough. The location is fine and in a quieter part of town, a 15 minute walk across the main bridge from the railway station and then a couple of streets back from the lake. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and the breakfast area large (doubled as a restaurant), offering a good selection of cold options (didn't notice any hot food, but there may have been).
The room though was disappointing. It was on the small side, with little space to put the suitcases. There was no fridge and no air con. On a hot and humid day and night, the small portable fan provided, did its best, but couldn't hope to cool the warm room. The pillows had no body to them and as with another room, the obligatory hot and heavy comforter was the bed covering. As we did with all such comforters offered at most hotels, we removed it from the cover and used the cover as a sheet.
There are some restaurants close by, as are some attractions, but if returning to Luzern, we would have no need to stay here again.

Jun 19: From the train station, it can be reached through one bus journey. Otherwise, it is at a 10-12 mins walking distance around the lovely lake. The rooms are a bit cramped but they have a small balcony. The beds were comfortable and they provide table fans. The breakfast is at 2 places - in the restaurant on the ground floor or on the 1st floor of the adjoining hotel. The spread is decent and the service was attentive and responsive. A nice location as the Chapel bridge, shopping areas are either walking distance or one bus journey.

The location of the house at the end of a pedestrian street and less than 1 km from the main train station is particularly practical for those arriving by public transport.
A pleasantly long time for breakfast, and the start at 7:00 a.m. means you can also set off on longer day trips with plenty of energy. Breakfast is served as a self-service buffet, and in addition to fresh breads and croissants, cold cuts and cheese, there is also fruit, cornflakes, yoghurt and various juices.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, the reception does not have a small city map and the Lucerne guest card helps you discover the city.
The house is a typical older town house, so the ceilings and stairs creak and the rooms are quite thin - unfortunately some guests keep slamming the room doors. Due to the central location, there is sometimes noise from outside on the weekend. My single room was quite small, but completely sufficient for my short trip - above all, there was enough storage space and power sockets (including multinational ones).

Good location, right at the end of the pedestrian mall in the old town. Easy, short stroll (5 minutes) to the Chapel Bridge, 2 minutes to the Lion Monumnet, 7 minutes to stroll on the old ramparts between the wall's towers. Many varied restaurants and stores within easy walking distance. There is no parking on hotel property, although you can stop your car on the sidewalk across from the front door for unloading and loading. Parking is available at the large indoor mall next door (with in/out priviledges, but it is very expensive (25 CHF daily) - there is basically no street parking in the area.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. After several nights in more modern European hotels, this was a real treat. Large room with 2 chairs and a table to sit at for morning coffee; a desk with a chair; lots of storage shelves and closet; and a good size bathroom with a tub and heated towel rack. The star attraction was the view. We had a lake view room and loved looking out the window at all times of the day and night. We could walk to restaurants and stores. The room wasn't always restocked as well as we would have liked when it was cleaned but whatever we were missing would be sent up immediately when we called the desk.

The place is well located almost close to city center. One needs to get there though a by-lane behind a bakery in-front of the lake to quickly reach the hotel at the end of the lane.
Check in was quick and smooth
Room was nice with great view of the main road.
I was specially impressed with the quality of balcony door which when shut would shun all the outside noise.
There is a nice work-desk facing the road.
Sleep quality was good.
Breakfast was standard European stuff but nice.
The lady at the reception was extremely helpful in helping us with out travel plans. Its entirely because of her that we could enjoy TGitlis just at the right time.
