We stayed in the addition called Guest House Rösi and had a suite of 2 rooms, one of which housed the 2 parents and 2 children and the other one which I, as the grandmother, occupied. We were on the 3rd floor and had great views of the neighborhood and a small roof garden. There was a second outside door which we could close and make our 2 rooms into a suite. This was very handy. I enjoyed my privacy, but of course, the other 4 had a more crowded situation. The children took advantage of the pool, and after a long overseas flight, this was a boon. Although the hotel is older, I appreciated the charm and central location. My son was miffed, however, that the first clerk we spoke with did not give him a pass that would have cut our parking lot cost in half. We later found out that it should have been offered.

Great location, directly in the city centre, right next to one of the historical bridges. Nice pool in the garden. The rooms are clean, but old fashion style and would need refresh in my opinion. No restaurant.

A very clean hotel with a very nice pool in the heart of old town. Now the downside no AC for those hot summer days but we did have a fan. No refrigerator or microwave in the rooms. Flat screen tele with decent cable service including music. Now the good a very friendy innkeeper willing to help. Very clean and comfortable bedding in a very well keep building.

We were warmly welcomed, a neat and clean reception.
We stayed in the largest room in the hotel, room 102! A very nice large bedroom with a large dressing room, a very large bathroom, everything was clean.
The only downside of the hotel is no breakfast but very well informed about having it just a stone's throw from the hotel!

Be careful when parking, as soon as you arrive at the car park, you must make a pre-payment for the number of days desired at the ticket payment terminal, we did not understand and paid a lot of money! To avoid this same inconvenience for future vacationers, remember to pay as soon as you arrive in the parking lot!

The hotel is also very well located in the historic center!
Swimming pool and Jacuzzi much appreciated!!
Good experience !

Had a great stay in this Hotel. A good bang for your buck. They do daily cleaning and supplies making sure everything is safe and sound, clean and tidy when you come back from the day tour. The Hotel Staff are very friendly and supportive of your needs within their reach. Highly recommended.

Great hotel! Close to transit, if you need to park your car, garage is just around the corner. Room is spacious and super clean. Double bed and 2 additional beds in the wall. Bathroom was large and clean. Pool wasn't open, but looked clean and fun if it was. Check in was easy.

Totally warm welcome. Top location (walking distance 5min from center). Clean comfortable rooms. I spent one night at the hotel and would book it again for short stays at any time and absolutely recommend! The room terraces (not all rooms) are also huge!

My Swiss trip is full of good memories barring the Reception incident with this hotel when I checked in. I got the hotel booked through email.

The person at reception never smiled. He speaked heavily accented and low. He never smiled and was having a cold angry face all the time. He tried to cheat me 10 francs, but could not do that as I showed my email confirmation which clearly gave the price.

He asked for my passport to be shown and after checking that he just threw it back to me. All this at a cold night with my wife and an infant kid standing before him. If it was any other time, I would have cancelled the booking and would have looked for some better hotel.

I dont know how he deals with other faces. He was rude and unless you are an european white, dont get in here. After all, we go to Swiss for a break and not to get broken!!!

I'd never complained any hotel before but this time it's unacceptable for me. When I checked out, I would like to leave my suitcase with the hotel but I'd be charged for CHF10. Staff suggested me to leave at the train station that I could understand she couldn't do anything. I asked her to check out and call taxi for me. She went into her office which is behind the reception desk. I kept waiting for her talking to someone on the phone. During she was talking on the phone I just spoke to my dad. She looked at me and close the door. She acted like I was speaking too loud. She went out from that room again when my taxi arrived. Then I said again to check out .... That's it.... She told me to speak more polite to her!!!! I said just checked out. She said everything had been done. She even did not explain to me that she already cut the room charge from my credit card. I asked for the receipt she printed for me, but I was a bit hurry so I took it directly from her hand. She was really angry to me. She beated the reception desk very loud.

In my opinion, she should not behave like this. I was her customer even I did something really rude to her she also won't be able to act to me like this. I could guarantee I did not rude to her at first.

The hotel is located in a good location but not the best. During the summer time, it's really hot but I could not open the windows because there were too many insects. I think you will be able to find other hotels that will be better and more value. Believe me don't stay in this hotel. Worst staff and service I ever met. I'd never reviewed any hotel but this hotel I want you all to know how bad its service is. I don't want you to meet this kind of situation. Lucerne is very very beautiful city. You should spend your value stay in this city, find a good hotel for a good time.

All my memories about Switzerland are sweet but there was a bitter point: the distrustful and rude man in the Reception (as another person in the Reception –a young woman- told to us: “his boss”). I haven’t ever been treated as bad! I was the customer and he didn’t care. He, who was supposed to be the owner of the business, behaved as an insolent.

I had with me the confirmation of the booking issued through the Internet. The details included the kind of rooms booked, the days, the price per room, the 10% pre-paid, my name, telephone, the credit card... For me that is a contract, for him it was nothing.

I have in my mind that terrible face, that disgusting way of talking, that sarcastic smile… Ogggggh!!!
He told me he didn’t mind the confirmation I had from the Internet booking and the prices printed on it. He added me: plus 25 francs plus 25 francs plus 25 francs… to each room price. The price in Internet includes bed & breakfast but he didn’t accept it. He required us again and again our credit cards to charge his “new and re-calculated price” immediately.

He said he wasn’t the one cheating us. He said it was the website offering his Hotel service. Out of curiosity, I booked another Swiss hotel through the same Internet website. Guess what? No problem with that booking!.

It was a weekend close to a Festival and all the Hotels were full so we couldn’t look for another hotel where staying at. And, obviously, that creep man took advantage of that.

By the way, if you’re not able to check-in soon, you’ll probably lose your booking. It doesn’t mind if you call to tell them you’ll be a bit late. There’s nobody at the Reception after midnight and they’ll give your room to other customers.

All in all, the Hotel is well located: close to the river and the train station but maybe the owner will try also to cheat you.
