CASCADA Boutique Hotel garners high marks for its spotless rooms and modern aesthetic, with a particular emphasis on its meticulous attention to detail. The staff's friendly demeanor is a highlight, although the restaurant's service pace could use some tweaking. While the rooms are celebrated for their modernity and cleanliness, a few guests find them on the cozy side.
The amenities, including a well-stocked minibar and AC, add comfort despite the compact space. Conveniently located, the hotel offers easy access to local attractions, though opinions on value for money do vary among visitors.

Detailed Reviews
Breakfast: nice variety of hot and cold food! Tons of different beverage options: two coffee/cappuccino machines that make everything from coffee, espresso, lattes, macchiatos and even hot chocolate. They also have almond milk for the lactose intolerant. Champagne and multiple types are juices are offered: multivitamin juice, apple juice, orange juice, still and carbonated water. We were offered a smoothie every morning. They have several types of cereals and sliced meats and cheeses. For the hot food: bacon, chicken sausages, baked tomatoes, small pancakes, sometimes mixed veggies. They have yogurts and granola. They also have a toaster and several different types of bread, croissants, rolls, pastries and jams. If you want eggs to order: there is a small tablet and pen on each table for made to order eggs: boiled, fried, scrambled, or omelets where you are free to select extra toppings. .
Rooms: clean and modern. We had the family suite with queen one one side and two singles on the other side. There was a cute little bubble gum shute game for younger children (it’s placed higher up on the wall so the little ones can’t reach it by themselves). Bathroom has a nice counter so you can keep and spread all of your necessary travel items on top without having to repack them each time. We loved that we had a plate of various types of fruit and chocolates to munch on and all drinks in the mini fridge are free of charge and replenished daily.
Atmosphere: also clean and modern. The restaurant was always busy every evening but we never dined there for lunch or dinner (but breakfast is held in that area).
WiFi: free and also same as the city WiFi so you can connect while your strolling about old town
Transportation: local bus and tram transport is included with your room charge.
Dog friendly: only 15CHF per day. We bring our dog with us often to other hotels but were pleasantly surprised to find a clean, soft dog bed; a stainless steel water and food bowl; and a dog treat waiting for our little pup. Super nice touch!
Staff: front desk staff was especially helpful with check-in, directions and providing umbrellas for us to walk around and explore in the rain (think her name was Gwendolyn? - part asian). The breakfast crew seemed to rotate but everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Location: from train station also close to trams walking distance to old town and shopping.
We had a great stay and would be happy to come back for our next trip.

We stayed at the Cascada for 3 nights during our family trip to Switzerland in May 2022. We had booked a 'family room - large' for our family of 4. Our stay was good overall and there wasn't any notable shortcomings.
The hotel location is accessible from the Lucerne train station and there's a bus stop around the corner as well. It is a bit of a walk to the centre and the attractions but you get a free Lucerne Travel pass that lets you use the local transport in the city for the duration of your stay.
We were hoping to have a larger living space as it was called 'Family room-large' but it was two rooms with separate doors and a tiny common space from which you enter the rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were small but the bedding was clean and comfortable and the toilets were modern with smart commodes. There was a complimentary mini bar with soft drinks and still/sparkling water which was promptly refilled every day.
The breakfast was very good and there was something for the entire family and the price charged was very reasonable at 20CHF per adult and 10 CHF per child. The Bolero restaurant was top class and a must try.
While the staff at the front desk and restaurant were generally friendly, there were a few exceptions and the air wasn't always welcoming. That aside, the Cascada hotel is highly recommended.

Stayed here for a week in October on a family holiday. The hotel is very nice and stylish. The family room on the 3rd floor is spacious and adequate, the beds comfortable and the room has a thermostat so you can make it to your liking. The window sadly looks out over office buildings and a car park so is not a room with a view.
The bathrooms are nice and the baths good and deep.
All the cleaning and reception staff we encountered were very friendly and professional, and you can request cleaning of your room as often (or not) as necessary. If you elect a day to go without a room clean, you are given a drink voucher for the bar for the guests in the room.
The location of the hotel is, without a doubt, ideal. It is barely a 5-10 min walk to old town / train station but far enough away to not be bothered by noise on an evening.
On site there is a very nice bar and restaurant and the food there is good, so you don’t have to go far to get a good meal if you don’t want to. The breakfast is also served in this restaurant and is plentiful and delicious. As Switzerland can be expensive for those visiting, we found that by having a substantial breakfast this meant less stops to snack throughout the day which saved a bit of money. I think the only minor downside to this hotel would be the size of the elevators, they are teeny! Luckily we only had small luggage but any bigger and we would have had to have gone 2 by 2 in the lift.
Upon returning to the UK it turned out my card had been charged twice upon checkout. When I contacted the hotel they were very helpful trying to resolve for me despite it being a problem across Switzerland that day with a card payment processing company. The money was eventually refunded by the card processor and was no fault of the hotels, but I am grateful that they were so willing to help where they could.
We would return to this hotel again, and would definitely recommend to others.

As many of the top hotels were booked for the holiday week, we ended up staying at Cascada, a city hotel just minutes from the train station. First impression checking-in to the hotel were low expectations given the service at the desk. Very different than what we experience generally, I wasn’t sure if it is the hotel or just the way they speak but wanted to give them the benefit of doubt. The person at the reception was very stern when checking us in offering a 20% discount coupon with a warning that it needs to be presented before ordering the meal, as if, the quantity/quality would be different by using the coupon. The service further degraded; Coffee was denied though clearly stated that coffee machines are available in the restaurant util 5 PM, dirty coffee cups and empty bottles not removed during room service. In fact, the front desk and the restaurant were disagreeing and arguing about coffee availability while I waited. Finally, I had to provide instant feedback but no action taken. To my surprise, the welcome letter from the manager talks about the motto of the hotel being service.
The room, which is a triple room, is very tight and was noisy as it was facing the front, the noises from folks on the street as well as the noises from the trains. I would recommend a room on the backside. For families and folks traveling with big suitcases, this surely won’t work out as there is hardly any space for the bags. The bathroom and shower is also very tight with no place for the toiletries. The shower is a tub with no anti-slip and so need to be extra careful. The toiletries are just ok, nothing special.
On the good side, the room had some character with waterfall art on one of the walls, the bed actually was comfortable though it is two double beds combined into a full or queen. Goodies in the room include the soft drinks in the minibar are included.
The breakfast at the Spanish inspired restaurant is good. The service here is so much better than the reception. We also tried their dinner, expensive but was good. Unlike what our waiter said, the portions are big especially the paella and so one can easily be shareable.
Overall, this is a business hotel in the city and I would rate it a 3-star with service needing much improvement. I would recommend vacationers to stay on the other side of the bridge, opposite the railway station and if available maybe the Schweizerhof hotel.

Dear pawsaroundtheworld, Thank you for having taken the time to rate your recent stay at the CASCADA Boutique Hotel at Tripadvisor. As we always want to provide the best service to all the guests, we`re always glad to get your feedback. We are happy to read that you enjoyed our buffet breakfast and our team in the BOLERO. And as well thank you for your compliments for our waterfall concept in the rooms, the free drinks in minibar and for our comfortable beds. Our guest satisfaction is very important to us. We do every day our best to give our guests a great hotel experience. Please take our apologies for disappointing you. Your feedback about the place for the toiletries and the anti-slip in the tub will be discussed in house. Thank you for your suggestions for our improvement – so we can improve us constantly. We offer our guests a 20% reduction on the meals in our BOLERO Restaurante. Because of the correct handling at the checkout, the voucher should be presented at the beginning. You are right, our guests receive coffee free of charge in the lounge until 17:00, as well as soft drinks in the lobby around the clock. Apparently a lot of things went wrong with you what we honestly regret. All your feelings and experience will be discuss in our team. For now we hope to get the chance to welcome you back one day again in the future, in our CASCADA Boutique Hotel to show you we can do better! In the name of the entire team, we wish you all the best. Best regards from Lucerne, Eveline Limacher, guest relations manager & team

I booked this hotel for a family trip to Lucern in October.
Two days before the Swiss Federal Government announced new restrictions for travelers within the country due to COVID
My 9 year old son also started to get pretty sick and we decided to cancel our trip return home and get him tested for COVID
I reached out to the hotel, made several appeals
and explained my exceptional situation so I could at least not have the booking fees charged to my credit card!
They were very arrogant and extremely rude in their e-mails comunications not showing any good faith on their behalf.
The hotel charged me the full amount of my stay despite the current restrictions and my appeals.

My boyfriend and I just stayed here for two nights as our first stop in Switzerland. The service was excellent, the room was comfortable and the location was great! Located an easy ten minute walk from the train station, it was ideal for transportation and was also close to the other Lucerne attractions.
The room was a bit compact but came with nice amenities like a coffee maker in room and complimentary stocked mini bar that was refreshed daily. We had a small balcony with ours which was lovely for enjoying a cup of morning coffee with views of Pilatus before heading down to the excellent complimentary breakfast. If you can afford to splurge, I recommend trying to upgrade to a larger size room with a balcony.
Would definitely recommend to anyone!

My husband and I spent a great 2 nights at this hotel in Lucerne. The location was very convenient, less than 10 min walk to the train/bus stop with other shops and restaurants nearby. It was also very convenient that the hotel had a restaurant, Bolero, that we ate at on our last night which I’d highly recommend. We were given a 20% coupon for diner that was a great incentive.
The room was very comfortable with a nice sized bed, a balcony with a view of the mountains, and a shower with hot water and good water pressure. There was also a mini fridge stocked with water and soft drinks that were free of charge.
The only downside was that the air conditioner had a very loud noise every few hours that woke us up a few times the first night. Unfortunately they weren’t able to fix it, but the concierge (Elena) was very helpful in finding us alternate solutions and comping us 2 free drinks.
Other than that, had a great stay and got to explore the town of Lucerne as well as did the golden round trip to mt Pilatus with this hotel as our base.

Loved this hotel! It's about 5 mins walk from the station and so is very conveniently located. The receptionists were very friendly at check-in and even showed me to the room. My room was on the 6th floor and was clean. The room had a closet and a mini-fridge which was very convenient. Room has a kettle and you can prepare tea or coffee. Bathroom had all the amenities and a stand-up shower. The water from the tap is drinkable in Switzerland and that saved me from having to purchase bottled water. The wifi was fast and worked flawlessly. Breakfast is worth the price. You can order a fresh omlette or scrambled egg which was quite delicious. By going heavy on breakfast, I was able to keep going all day and got away with a light sandwich or wrap in the evening. You can't go wrong with this hotel!!

No reason to go anywhere else. From the reception, to the room to dinner to breakfast, literally everything was a pleasant surprise, especially at the price we paid.
Very professional and friendly reception. We were early and our chosen room was not ready, but we were offered a tour of an available upgrade without any pressure, which we settled into.
Dinner at Spanish Tapas restaurant was excellent, and very informative interactive menu was presented on an iPad. Extensive drink list of premium cocktails and liquor at very reasonable prices.
The room was immaculate, with a mini bar filled with an assortment of complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Shower pressure the best I’ve had in ages, including my own house. Enough closet space for a couple of weeks, complimentary WiFi. Comfy bed, even if the pillows were a bit over stuffed for us.
Included breakfast was extensive and top quality including an a la carte egg/omelette menu.
I can’t say enough about this hotel but hope I haven’t left anything out.
Next time we go to Lucerne, there will be no other choice for us.
Oh yeah, 5min walk from the train station.
