Detailed Reviews
In my opinion, our experience was less than amazing for a combination of reasons, the biggest problem being that the hotel and its staff seem to have just given up. It comes across as (at best) a 3 star hotel, with 4 star ambitions, charging 5 star prices.
Ordering drinks at the bar was a painful experience which often seemed to involve speaking to 2 or 3 different staff members who would then appear at an indeterminate - but lengthy - time later with the drinks.
There was an older gentleman working as a waiter who seemed to be largely disinterested in everything he was doing and certainly came across as “over it” when being asked a question.
The food itself wasn’t horrendous, but we were genuinely shocked to learn they had apparently won awards for it. Admittedly, they did make an attempt to accommodate both vegetarians and my allergy; however, when they brought out my vegetarian meal, it appeared to have the same meat gravy that everyone else had on it. And when I mentioned to the older gentleman I was the person with the allergy and could he bring me the right meal, he rolled his eyes and wandered off muttering to himself as if he were angry that I wouldn’t just shut up and eat what I was given.
The hotel itself is generally clean, so can’t fault that. The rooms had odd layouts in which our toilet, and our bath/shower were completely separate. The lake side view was nice; however, the rooms had no air conditioning were generally quite warm and could only be cooled by using an incredibly noisy fan - or by leaving the window open which then meant you were disturbed by (albeit infrequent) traffic noise while trying to sleep.
The hotel is also very poorly lit when it doesn’t need to be. The first night we arrived the dining room was so dark that we could barely see the food.
So all in all, not a great experience. And definitely not worth its current value.

Hotel with a great view of Lake Lucerne. The rooms are not big, but the balcony and the large window front make up for this. As a bonus, there is a Nespresso machine in the room and the capsules are also refilled. Everything is spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are functional, but could be renovated. The bus stop is in front of the hotel. Bus 24 is also part of the 10+ zone network, which can be used free of charge with the tourist card. Breakfast is varied, beautifully presented and the waitress Brigitta is very attentive. The dinner was also delicious and the portions were generous, so there was no room for dessert.... Thank you Kevin, you are an attentive waiter.

We had a decent stay despite the AC problem and the lack of staff support. The weather was hot (around Deg C) and the AC did not provide enough cooling. There was no staff support and I had to carry my luggage from the car to the room during checking in and the same during checking out. The travel card was helpful and we took advantage of the free bus seerive from the hotel to downtown. The city is beautiful and very peaceful.

Dear ghamah1g1 Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your stay with us. We are always very happy when guests feel comfortable in our hotel Seeburg. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the beautiful cityand that the guest card was helpful for you. Unfortunately, we do not have air conditioning in our rooms. As an alternative, we provide guests with a fan. We do not have a direct luggage service in our house. If the guest needs our assistance, we are of course very happy to help. We also provide our guests with luggage trolleys so that they do not have to carry the heavy suitcases. The opinion of our guests means a lot to us. We look forward to your next stay. With best regards Team Hotel Seeburg

Stayed here for 3 nights in June. If you are looking for a one word review for this Hotel- Don't stay here especially if you are planning to visit in Summers. This hotel has whole wing of standard rooms without any Aurconditioning and the other wing is they say has controlled Air cooling which we don't know what is that because that was also equally bad. Ultimately they provided us with regular floor fans which were no good in such humid and hot weather. Imagine coming to your boiling hot hotel room after a full day of excursions. It completely spoils your vacations. Also don't understand how their staff cleans the room as they don't even empty dustbins. Almirahs drawers had insects crawling. Don't get fooled by the website or the lobby pictures. Avoid this hotel.

We were at a wedding in this hotel (we helped organize the wedding). It was not good at all. We paid more for the rooms than if we had reserved them on booking (and the hotel promised to accommodate us and give us a better price (what the hell). They did not accommodate us at all, were not accommodating and one person almost had to sleep on the floor because our reservation was not carried out as we had discussed with the hotel. The staff is very unfriendly and not helpful/supportive or accommodating. They were also very disorganized and could not even open OUR preparation room for us because the person in charge had already finished work (around 4 p.m.). The rooms of all the bridesmaids and bachelorettes were scattered throughout the hotel even though the hotel was far from fully booked. The shower wall in our room had mold. When we checked in, we were given another guest's sheet to sign. When we said it was wrong, the unfriendly receptionist's answer was simply 'yes, yes, that's right'. As if we didn't know our names... The breakfast buffet was OK except for the scrambled eggs: more milk than egg and it was sweet...
In short: I would NEVER recommend a wedding at this hotel or ever set foot there again.

Located on the road along the lake, the bedrooms were awfully hot and noisy.
We had to open the windows to have some fresh air, the fan provided was noisy as well and the traffic was on all night long.
At 7:30am, we heard a loud delivery truck coming and just before 8am, the glass recycling.
Paying over 500 CHF for 2 rooms for such a bad night is just a rip off
When I told the staff at the Reception(manager?) the answer was “we are thinking of air conditioning but it’s a big and cost effective project”. Think quickly as you will lose your customers during Summer time as we cannot rest in your place.
No commercial gesture after such a bad night and our complain.

You pay for the location/view, which is fantastic.
Apart from the entrance area, the hotel gives the impression of an old box.
In my room, the toilet smelled strongly of smoke (despite the smoking ban in the building), six TV channels didn't work (this was quickly fixed, but why don't you check beforehand?) and one of the day curtains (cheapest material) had a large tear. The toilet seat was also warped...
You can tell that nothing has been done/invested in here for years; the rooms are really extremely simply furnished for a four-star hotel.
The balcony furniture and the sun blinds: it can't get much cheaper... It's a shame and annoying.
At breakfast, too, you get the impression that they want to (have to?) save money wherever they can. The fruit salad, for example, comes from a can.
I think it's good that you get a visitor's card for Lucerne and that the hotel has great public transport connections.

Wow, the Mother’s Day brunch must be one of the best in Luzern. From cold to hot dishes,
there were so many choices.
Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent too. The room and ambiance was absolutely beautiful. Friends had paid more at Hermitage and the choices and the room they were at looked very plain like a conference room. They also paid more. I think the new management at Hotel Seeburg really did a great job. We were very impressed and I will be spreading the word.

Very nice hotel just across the street from the Vierwaldstatter see(Lake Lucerne)
Pros:
Great staff easy check in Great views from lake facing rooms, easy parking. Ok value for the area, comfortable bed.
Cons:
There was construction going on at the time of our stay.
The rooms have no A//C, not a deal breaker but the room was sealed up tight and that first blast of stifling heat when we opened the door was unexpected.
But they do give have a large fan unfortunately the cord would not allow the fan to be placed in the terrace door to help cool off the room. The breakfast buffet selection was plentiful but the cooked foods were merely OK at best.

The hotel has a great location, but it lacks a lot in terms of service and rooms.
The hotel staff seem to have forgotten that they work in a service profession. With some exceptions, zero interested in providing service commensurate with the price. At breakfast there was a lack of white baguette every day, after saying no for two days without results, I gave up. I asked to speak to the hotel manager but he/she never got in touch! It's never happened to me before.
The room did not have AC and was hot. There were two fans in the room which did not have enough power. A sad experience.
The hotel's location attracts. It is located 20m from the lake, albeit with the main road in between. Here you can go out in your dressing gown and take a bath.
But there are probably far better alternatives with good service, a hotel manager who cares, and fine rooms with AC, where you can also take a refreshing morning bath.
