Detailed Reviews
We stayed for two nights during our honeymoon trip and this was one of the most enjoyable hotels we stayed at in Switzerland. The location is perfect, quiet quaint street in walking distance to everything you want to see in downtown Lucerne. We had the top floor room which had a wonderful rooftop balcony with a great view of Lucern. The bed was comfortable, the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the breakfast spread was wonderful. We loved to sit by the window at breakfast and enjoy the view and there was hardly anyone there when breakfast started.
The only hiccup was that the steam from a hot shower apparently set the fire alarms for the entire hotel off two mornings in a row. The second morning we were extra careful to circulate air and turn the heat down but it still happened. The staff seemed surprised so they will probably address this.
One suggestion would be to have an electric kettle and mugs for tea/instant coffee/cocoa in the room or at least available upon request.

Nice hotel near shops and restaurants in the heart of lucern, beds are comfy, shower had good pressure, employees were nice, hotel rents adapters for your phone, iPad, etc. in case you forget yours, hard to get to on google maps because there are no official roads around hotel, you have to pull in off the Main Street, reset google maps to walking and drive on sidewalk till you get to hotel, it will freak you out but it’s the only way to do it unless you use the parking structures which are bit of a walk, use the valet parking, it’s 27.00 but worth it since you really don’t need to drive once there. Breakfast is good, eggs and pancake is ordered once you sit down, definitely filling. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Hotel Krone Luzern for four nights. The location is great, right in the old town and close to restaurants, bars, cafes, and a 10-15 minute walk from the main train station. Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly, even giving us tips for watching the New Year’s Day fireworks at the lake.
We ate breakfast at the hotel three times. The food selection was limited but okay. Our room was big and clean, but there was no heater or air conditioning. Despite staying during the winter, we still had to open the windows to cool down the room as it got a bit too warm at night, which meant noise from the street and early morning garbage trucks disturbed our sleep. Also, the body wash/shampoo in the bathroom wasn’t refilled, leaving us short by the end of our stay.
The WiFi was really bad unless we stood near the door, which was quite inconvenient.
Overall, the hotel's location is a big plus, but the issues we faced, especially with noise and WiFi, were downsides.

The location of this hotel is great, but the hotel is pretty basic. The room was okay but noisy at night. Due to no air conditioning, we kept the windows open. There was quite a bit of foot traffic and then recycling collection one morning and construction the next morning. The bathroom needed TLC as well. The shower curtain was cheap and fell out of the track and there was mold in ceiling and between tiles. The hallways of the hotel were really stark and reminded me of a dorm hallway. We did get breakfast, which was really expensive for what you got and tried to cancel but the hotel was unwilling to accommodate a cancellation. If I were back in Lucerne I'd find another hotel.

Located on a beautiful square with many paintings on the facades of the building. Easy walk to train station, boat dock, museums, etc. We were on the 5th floor with a huge terrace that had a view of the medieval wall and seven of the towers. Hotel Desk Clerk was very helpful and pleasant. Comfortable bed, lots of storage space, and spacious bathroom made this room very pleasant. Housekeeping was superb! Only negative was no AC but leaving the terrace doors open in the evening cooled the room down nicely. Highly recommended!

They charged our credit card for one more night because they said the room smelled of tobacco and they had to close it to clean it. When I told them that we don't smoke, they told us that the smell was like a joint or something else?? Considering that we are a retired couple, it seems unacceptable to me.

The Krone is a very nice little hotel located a block or so off the lake. Our room on the top floor was spacious and clean, and came with a large terrace I’m sure we would have enjoyed in warmer weather. My only quibble (and this isn’t the Krone’s fault) is that the Krone isn’t too near public transit. After bumping your suitcase over the cobblestones you might need a wheel alignment.

All about location here as that is perfect as a home base for exploring Lucerne. The room itself was a huge disappointment. Not clean and very old and worn. The shower has mold growing in it. The bed was worn down and not comfortable. There is a good amount of noise at night as the rooms are up against the square out front. Staff was fine but not particularly friendly. Wi-Fi coverage was weak with slow speeds. Decent value for the price but I would not recommend this as a place to stay in Luzern.

The location is excellent. Close to restaurants, shops, supermarket and tourist attractions. Good room, comfortable floor, beds and bedding. The bathroom is a little old and the shower is quite small, but it didn't get in the way. It has a minibar and coffee machine. The breakfast is very good and well served, eggs, cold cuts, parma, etc. I would like to highlight the salmon carpacho here, wonderful!
It is about 500 m from the train station, ask for the best route so as not to climb too many stairs with your suitcases.
The hotel's elevator doesn't seem to reach the top floor, so I recommend asking beforehand.
I recommend it and would go back!

+1
Absolutely perfectly placed hotel for visiting Luzern! Easy to walk to from the train station, as well as all of the sights in Luzern. I had a single room on the top floor and my view was something out of a fairy tale. Medieval rooftops with mountains in the background. Stunning!
My room was small, but not claustrophobic. Everything was well situated; the fridge worked really well and the bed was comfortable(I'm from the US and didn't find it firm at all). The shower stall was on the small side, but nothing unmanageable. A small desk fan was in the room, which helped when it got a little stuffy.
The front desk staff was very nice and efficient. It was always nice to be greeted with a smile after a long day!
