My family and I have spent New Year’s eve in lovely Luzern and we stayed at this hotel over night.

We booked 2 interconnecting rooms and they were very pretty and spacious, located on the top floor. Shame there were no views, though. Being so up high, we were all expecting a different sight through the windows, than the next building’s walls.

The hotel’s decor was however very pleasant and cosy. Very traditionally Swiss. Which we loved.

Despite the size of the accomodation, 3 things were in my opinion missing for a hotel of this level and for the money we paid for:
1. tea/coffee facilities were not available in the room (there is a common place on the second floor where one has to go and carry the drinks to one’s room);
2. bathrooms were both far too small. One could hardly put personal toiletteries around the sink.
3. breakfast was ok, but we were expecting much better quality of food and service.

The hotel’s location was ideal. One can walk in a few minutes to the historical center of town and there is a garage closeby where to leave the car at 25CHF per day.

The hotel’s reception advised a very good restaurant for a typical fondue for New Year’s eve and we all had a lovely night.

We found however that, upon arrival, they could have been more welcoming and generous with info regarding the activities happening in town for the last night of the year and for the 1st of January. We fortunately had already devised our own plan.

Service at breakfast was slow and not warm/attentive enough for a 4* hotel. There was no table available when we got down in the morning, and a waitress asked us to wait a couple of minutes. We thanked her and stood in waiting, whilst she was commenting in German with a colleague about how impatient we looked. We found that quite unprofessional.

Breakfast was quite good, although we found a very limited choice of sweet options.

All in all, everything went quite well, but expectations were higher, especially service-wise. A shame, as the hotel has excellent potential to offer a memorable experience.

A lovely hotel with good facilities and pleasant staff - BUT we just visited at the wrong time. We were not told that it was carnival time when we booked through Inntravel. We got virtually no sleep for our 2 night stay. During our first night (Sunday) preprations were going on in the square outside - not too loud, but much talking and footsteps. We were then woken at 6am by a band just under the window (Room 108). The bands and floats continued circulating until nearly 2am, and then the bar next door continued with outdoor music/disco, finally turning the volume down around 7am. My wife tried to sleep in the bath because it was quieter there. We have recommended that Inntravel do not send people to your hotel during the carnival. Both of your restaurants were fully booked both nights and we had to fight through the crowds to get ups the stairs to our room on Monday. The breakfast had a great variety. It would have been useful ot have tea/coffee making facitilites in the room, to save negotiating the narrow staircase with a tray.

We are still talking about our honeymoon stay at Wilden Mann! From the greeting at check in, to kindly answering our 1000 questions, to the amazing meal service, and spacious room, 10/10, will stay again.

During our trip we stayed at 5 hotels (at the same price point) in three different countries. Wilden Mann was by far our best experience.

And the location!? Perfectly situated on the water front, WM is an easy walk with luggage to and from the train station.

It is a nice well located hotel. Nice breakfast and all. One big problem though: it is overheated. I could not sleep because it was no warm in the room. The breakfast room in the morning was also overheated and I did not feel like staying there for this reason.

apart from the fact it was very unconfortable, it is also a total waste of energy. whyt a pity for a hotel which claims to be 'green'.

Everything was exceptional except the bathtub. It is so high and getting in and out of the bathtub is very difficult. I would have been very scared to take a shower if I was the only one staying in the room. Please change the bathtub, make it easier to get in and out of, and put a shower curtain or a shower door that closes the bathtub completely. Also, can you please provide pillows that are firm? The pillows are too soft.

As per title, this is a very old hotel with basic amenities and no air conditioning, just a stand fan which can be noisy. The location is very good and near to the river bank, train station and many restaurants and attractions. Breakfast is very simple but the staff is nice. The lift is very small and cannot carry many especially if you have big luggages. There is no kettle or coffee maker but they have an area where you can make your cup of tea or coffee required. We were checked in here as part of Insight Luxury Tour and i must say this is a very disappointing choice as there is nothing luxury about this hotel.

Excellent, historical hotel in Lucerne downtown. The rooms are quiet and really comfortable, and the personnel is super-professional and always available for every need. The Burgerstube restaurant is one the best in Lucerne, mainly for Swiss cuisine. Be it for business or tourism, Hotel Wilden Mann is really a good place to stay :-) !

What a fantastic hotel close to many of the interesting features of Lucerne. This old and quirky inn is a labyrinth of fascinating pieces of furniture and artefacts.
Our room, 212, was very large and comfortable with a separate dressing area and large bathroom.
There was a walk in shower and a shower head over the full size bath. The toilet was separate and there were two sinks. A good selection of toiletries and other items were supplied.
Breakfast was very good with a typical selection of continental items and limited hot choices. The service was very good and friendly.
Complimentary tea and coffee are available from a coffee maker on the second floor.
The location is excellent for many of the iconic places in Lucerne. There is a large variety of places to eat and a good range of shops. At the station there is an underground mall with a range of fast food venues as well as a well stocked and reasonably priced Co-op.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Complimentary beverages from a coffee maker are available on the second floor.
We had a wonderful time here and would recommend it for its location to the river, the station and many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. There is also an excellent variety of fast food venues in the mall by the transport centre, as well as a very well stocked and reasonably priced Co-op.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights prior to joining a river cruise. The hotel is old and quirky. It is in an excellent position to explore Lucerne. We actually had two single interconnecting rooms as a double wasn’t available. It was okay as we were only there for two nights. The beds were comfortable and we had the added bonus of a bathroom each! It was quite warm while we were there but the fan provided was adequate to cool the room. It could be a bit noisy outside sometimes if you had the window open.
The staff were all pleasant. Breakfast could have done with more options of cooked items, but it was okay. There are facilities on the second floor where you can make yourself tea or coffee. There aren’t any facilities for this in your room.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Lucerne.

The Hotel Wilden Mann is about a 15-minute walk along the river from the train station. There are two restaurants, a terrace bar and a beautiful lounge where you can enjoy coffee (no machines in each room because of the age of the hotel, but coffee/tea is always available on the second floor). Buffet breakfast is served in a luxuriously decorated room; there is plenty of choice, with eggs, bacon, prosecco, an assortment of fresh fruit and pastries. Our hotel room was furnished with lovely antiques and had plenty of storage. The bathroom had double sinks and a tub, good hair dryer and nice toiletries plus bath salts, as well as a little stool, which is nice to pull alongside the tub if you feel like a glass of wine while you soak. Umbrellas are available in the lobby. Good shopping is nearby, as are plenty of restaurants and cafes. A Coop grocery store is just across the river. You will be given a guide book to Lucerne and inside is a very doable self-guided walking tour. Wilden Mann is one of those special hotels in which you'll feel instantly at home and we were pleased to spend three wonderful nights there at the end of our vacation.

Hi--I didn't spend much time watching the telly and when I did it was soccer World Cup so language wasn't as important...however, the channels that I did see were mostly German speaking (maybe a French or 2) but no English. Sorry! If you just need basic tv or movies try one of these sites below (they're websites, but we're not allowed to post them here, so just google them!) watch ustvnow (free) OR hola (free, but can be unreliable) OR Safer VPN (cost $ and have to sign up but more reliable) Hope that helps! Happy travels!
