The hotel was everything we needed for a relaxing 4 day stay. Rooms were a combination of old and modern in a suitable way with big King beds. The common hotel areas were large so there was a enough space to spread out from other guests for a quiet place to read, have a drink or sit by the fire. We booked half board basis and we found that to be a Very good value. Fantantic 4 course meal each evening with lots of choice. Food was excellent. Service excellent. (Thanks Gaudio!). Eating at the hotel each evening was relaxing and enhanced out stay. Be sure to walk amongst the olive trees that surround the hotel. We booked this hotel because it is dog friendly. Our little dog was also a happy guest.
I have been a Gold Member of The World of Hyatt for what seems to be an eternity. I also carry a Chase Hyatt credit card which earns me a reward night and points too. Chase allowed us to carry forward last years award night due to Covid 19. Together with the use of accumulated points we were able to use them at the Park Hotel Cappucini for a 4 night stay. We thought it was in Perugia but it is not. It is in Gubbio. So, it costs €80 each way from the airport to the hotel alone which, is just a 1/2 hour drive away. Gubbio though is a gem of a City in every way. To get to Perugia by bus (which takes one hour) is just €7 each way and well worth the visit too. But let’s return first to the Hotel. Would my wife and I stay here again? Sorry, we would not. For despite all of it’s history and elegance, it is souless. Yes, the rooms are modern and clean as one would expect but noisy. You can hear a drop of a pin from neighboring rooms or from the hallway. There is a mini bar with snacks to purchase. No complimentary bottles of water provided on arrival but to be fair, two small chocolates and small box of biscuits. There are no tea or coffee making facilities and no English channels what so ever on the TV either. Breakfast was very good. Although a bit of a circus as it was a free for all without being seated. But no real hardship. The swimming pool was difficult to use as they allowed lane swimming for single swimmers and the water was too cold for my liking. We used it once. The Gym is well equipped. We did not use the SPA. The prices put us off and there were too many poor online reviews so, we gave it a miss. We did dine in the restaurant on our first night. Very delicious food, good service but pricy compared to Mitchelin starred restaurants down in Gubbio (a 10 minute walk away down the valley). We did not use the mini bar but bought what we needed from the supermarket 5 minutes wall away. I am not paying €4 for a small 330cl bottle of coca-cola. I agree with a previous post made by a traveler on Trip Advisor. The hotel has a sense of “Business and Corporate world about it”. My wife and I both felt it. Luckily for us, we were using award and points otherwise I do believe we would have checked out after the second night and tried another local hotel down in the City or more friendlier B&B. But, this is just our experience.…
We just spent three nights in this stunningly beautiful place and loved every minute of it. The common areas are elegantly furnished and very comfortable. I enjoyed the antique furniture that was seen throughout as well as the art. Our room was large and comfy. A generous breakfast buffet was included each morning. It was in a sunny room and featured a wide variety of options. We ate a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant as well.
Agreeable surprise to find this beautiful hotel (4 stars) in Gubbio, the region of truffles. The room is spacious, with free WIFI, separate bathroom, TV, refrigerator. The breakfast is very copious and the waitresses are kind and helpful. A big car park and a car par for visitors. Other possibilities such as SPA, MASSAGE can be asked. I certainly go back to stay in this hotel for my next trip to Gubbio.
This converted monastery is unique because of its layout and amenities. The restaurant is very nice and they have a fitness area that might put some health clubs to shame. The rooms are nice but nothing spectacular. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes from the old city but be prepared to walk the steep driveway from the hotel and then navigate the hills in the city. This is a good choice for visiting Gubbio with if it includes an overnight
