Stay Report - 6/21 to 6/22 Location: Not great for touring Florence.  It's located northwest of the old city next to the Porto Al Prato Rail Station.  It's about 15 minutes to FLR unless you're like me and you arrive in the middle of a taxi strike in which case you can walk 10 minutes to the Belfiore stop in the T2 Tram Line.  Around the hotel are a number of small local restaurants, coffee shops and bars and the like.  It's a very sleepy neighborhood otherwise but not an unsafe feeling one. Hotel: Like many AC properties in Europe it's an imposing modern looking building from the outside.  The lobby area is very nice though with sitting areas, a full bar and a restaurant which serves breakfast and dinner.  I did have an issue with the elevators which are tiny and if you're on an upper floor and someone else is already in one you won't be able to make the lobby.   Check In: We arrived late and encountered a very friendly check in agent who offered us still or sparkling water for the room and confirmed if I wanted points or a $10 F&B credit.  All staff I dealt with here were very helpful. Room: Small as to be expected but with a very comfortable bed.  I was glad I was only staying one night because it's a tight squeeze for two people.  Thankfully it was quiet, there were outlets near the bed and the Wifi worked well.  The bathtub combo shower scared me to use and the shower head was broken so I couldn't move it higher. Breakfast: 15E a day, I passed it. Overall it's a good cheap option for Florence and for just a single night with a late arrival it worked well.

We booked a superior room and without a knowledge we were downgraded to our standard room. When we brought it to the notice of the person answering the phone, named Marta she said that ours was a superior room. She was blatantly lying to us because our friends also booked the superior room and they had a much bigger room than ours. We were checked in by Massimo who was an extremely rude person. He did not put out luggage in the room as promised and then told us to our faces that we have a lot of work and can’t do all of this for you. The best part is that this service was offered by them and we had not even asked for it. Complete racism! We then went down to the reception and were again spoken rudely to by this guy called Omar whose picture you will find here. He said that all I can do is give you free breakfast the next day. We are leaving the next day for Milan and have an early morning train so that does not even make any difference to us. The problem is not that we were given a standard room, the problem is that it was not even communicated to us. Omar also found the whole thing extremely funny and told us that we were lying to him when we brought up several points. If you are planning to come here, please be advised that there are better hotels at the same price available all across the city and if you want to have a good holiday and wanted to be worth your money, this is not the right place to go to. It’s also far away from the main town Center so it’s really not worth it.

We have been downgraded without being informed even after booking a higher category room ( payment all in advance ). Rude staff, did not want to listen to us & did nothing to compensate for this pathetic experience. RACISM AT ITS FULLEST! Beware! Don’t go to AC firenze Marriott

We had a terrible experience with the hotel and especially the unprofessional staff. We had booked superior rooms for our stay. When we arrived, they allocated us superior rooms, but the rooms weren’t ready and they asked us to come back after a couple of hours. When we got back they re allocated us different room numbers and when we asked them why they changed the room numbers, he said that how would it matter and didn’t inform us that our room had been downgraded. We realised towards the end of our trip that the room category was downgraded as our friends’ room was much bigger. When we called the front desk to check on our room, she first lied saying that it was a superior room only. After some more confrontation they agreed that it was a lower category room, so they not only downgraded us without informing but also lied about the whole situation and were not ready to make reasonable amends for it. Special mention to Marta the receptionist for lying to us, Omar for not having a solution to anything. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

One of the worst experiences. We got downgraded without being informed and we realised it on the last day of our stay. The staff was not willing to do anything. They even lied about the category saying that its the original category only which we had booked. The staff is very bad and refused to accept and laughed about it.

Standard room in standard hotel. The rooms are small, simple and without any non essential features. The bathroom is equally small, yet functional. The beds are reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was good. In conclusion: acceptable hotel for a weekend.

Hotel looks new and everything was clean. Room had a Nespresso machine. Location is a bit off-center but an easy walk to the train station or old town. Staff was very kind to arrange an sofa bed in advance.

As a couple traveling with two kids, we were not happy with the AC Marriott Firenze. The rooms were to stuffy and hot. Staff informed us to open the window to get the room cooler. However the window was dangerous for the kids as it had no safety and it just opens to widely. Furthermore, they had no kettle to prepare for my child’s milk. If you want boiled water they will charge you 5 euros to bring it to your room. In addition to this, the location of the property was in bad area and ugly area of Florence. The view of our room was terrible . We felt uncomfortable during our stay and paid the high rate for the room for disappointed place.

I was there with friends, the hotel was ok but nothing that made me say wow. The breakfast for me was the worst thing ever! Specially when we had to pay for it. You were not aloud to take breakfast by yourself which I understand during covid-19. But the routine was crap! We were standing in line or we thought we were but then other guest got helped before us so it took some time to get breakfast and we got irritated. Sometime the staff were not there so we had to stand and wait for them. I didn’t see any sausage or bacon or something similar there. Only cold food. I wouldn’t stay here again sorry!

Hotel is centrally located and rooms are nice, what I have found incredible is that the hotel maids , make up your room without having a face mask! and than I stay in my room !! This is not acceptable and out of the low! at least in Italy where it is mandatory the wear a mask! No good!
