This is not a 5star hotel.Though advertised as wheelchair friendly, during our visit the chairlift only worked once.To make matters worse it hardly fitted my mobility scooter. After one night stay we had to cut our holiday short due to covid restrictions imposed by our home country. To take a taxi I had to go down the steps at the main entrance on my bottom. The room was cold,AC was not functioning and electricity supply was intermittent. To put the icing on the cake the management are refusing to refund us the rest of our stay,3 nights, lost due to covid. What a shame! Not recommended at all.
The staff were great and the place is just incredible! So beautiful. Old school everything and I loved it. The rooms are tight, make no mistake, but the ambiance makes up for it. The fitness area is one bike and one treadmill and the TV and internet don’t work down there which was frustrating. The shower had great pressure and good hot water. The spa (for non covid days) seems amazing. The towels in the room were ok, but if they just used the ones from the gym/spa....omg, so soft and incredible I don’t know why they aren’t the same. The WiFi was good everywhere else. Breakfast was robust! And delicious. I would stay here again in a minute!
Wonderful stay at Hotel Wagner. Great location (though a bit tricky to find if driving due to sudden road closures), outstandingly helpful and friendly staff, classic decor and ambience in rooms and bar. Valet parking worked perfectly. Felt very COVID secure at breakfast and throughout hotel.
This may have been a wonderfully grand building in the past but seemed a little tired and gloomy. My room certainly needed a coat of paint. The walls were splattered with red paint ( I hope) and nothing was painted red in the room which I found a little amusing. The hotel claims to have satellite channels but none of the English language channels has adequate reception to be watchable. In 6 nights I probably caught 15 minutes of BBC news after trying every night. To make matters the Wifi is also not fit for purpose, having to reconnect every 10 minutes or so. On a positive note, the breakfast is very good. Despite being laid out as a buffet with the current situation you have to point at what you need from behind a screen. However , staff are obliging and helpful in carrying out the process in a way that we can all remain safe. My room was very quiet, thick walls maybe, and getting a good night s sleep was easy . The hotel is about a 20-25 minute walk to the train station which was further than I d hoped but clearly that s my fault not the hotel s ! It is however within walking distance of all the major city sites. Not the best hotel I ve ever stayed in by a long way, but despite my comments it probably was nt too bad for the price, which for a major city seemed good ( depending on whatever individual deal you can get)…
A luxurious 5 star hotel downtown Palermo near the Dom. Rooms are lux and with an atmosphere of the past. Friendly staff and clean. The only minus point is that there is no coffee facility on the room. But in general a top hotel with affordable prices. Had a great stay here.
