Mercure Hotel Palermo is such a great value. The hotel is modern and up to date in a great neighborhood which is accessible to all the sites. The breakfast has something for everyone and provides a good start to your day. I was very pleased with my room which had a very comfortable bed with really nice linens. Also, the soundproofing was well done as my room was quiet at night. Martina and Valeria at the front desk were so nice and very helpful. We stayed a total of 7 nights and could not have been happier.

The hotel staff was great and gave us an upgrade and helped us by parking our car. It is very busy the area, so it was great that the hotel has a parking (20 euro per day). We also had a second room (104) for our mother in law and our kid but it smelled terrible so we get another one at second floor (that was better). The breakfast was okish and the coffee was good. The hotel is near the best attractions of Palermo and this is a plus.

My single room must have been over the exhaust vent for the kitchen, because the odors of frying fish, onions and other foods permeated my room. I asked for a room change, but was told there were none available. The desk sent up a guy with a bottle of perfumey smelling spray and I told him to NOT use this, so he sprayed the carpet around the outside of my door, so I now had the fried food and a chemical spray. The room was also unbearably hot and the same guy could not adjust my heat. I would have opened my window (despite the fried fish), but it was a large window that opened onto an exterior corridor with stairs, so I did not feel safe opening it. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the bathroom was fine, but it was not a good night's sleep because of the heat and odor. The breakfast was fine and it was nice to have a barrista instead of the coffee machine. The hotel caters to a lot of tours. I was part of a student tour, so if I were traveling on my own, I would probably choose another place.

Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your experience regarding your recent stay at Mercure Palermo Centro. We sincerely apologize for the discomfort you experienced due to the odors permeating your room from the kitchen exhaust vent. It's regrettable that we were unable to accommodate your request for a room change and that the alternative solution provided was not satisfactory. We understand the importance of a comfortable environment for a good night's sleep, and we apologize for falling short in this aspect. We appreciate your feedback regarding the temperature of the room and the safety concerns with the window. We will address these issues with our team to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to improve the comfort and safety of our guests. On a positive note, we are glad to hear that you found the bed and pillows comfortable and that you enjoyed the breakfast, particularly having a barista service. However, we take your feedback seriously and will work diligently to improve in areas where we have fallen short. Thank you for choosing Mercure Palermo Centro. Great location! Easy walk to City Center and all the main attractions. Restaurants close by that are good … pizza, coffee, full meals, etc. We stayed for 6 nights ( room was adequate, nothing fancy) and found lots to do. Front Desk check-in with Anna was easy and she was very helpful with a city map and various suggestions. The Breakfast was ample with lots of variety…we loved the Barista, she was awesome !! There is a Bar which was nice for a pre-dinner or “after a long day of walking” drink! Would recommend this Hotel to others ! One small misstep when we had dinner at the restaurant - it was very busy ( and loud ) with two tours eating dinner. Our waiter, Andrea, was very busy and I’d have to say “stressed”… he was very abrupt with us, muttering under his breath (he didn’t realize my husband had understood)….all ended up just fine, and we somewhat enjoyed our meal! If we had known there were two larger tour groups eating, we would have chosen another night at the restaurant, but reservations had already been made.

We were a family of eight staying at the Mercure Hotel for the first time. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The hotel is in a good location for walling the old city. There a number of good restaurants close to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good. The service form the staff was excellent. My grand daughter’s birthday was on a Tuesday and Anna (at the front desk) made her a large birthday card with candy. My son and daughter-in-law were over joyed by such an act of kindness. THANK YOU ANNA.

Very average hotel, mostly due to dated room furnishing especially the closet and carpet. Stepping outside the elevator, I felt like going back in time, perhaps 1970s? Bed was a bit on the hard side. Staff are friendly yet not efficient. Choice of breakfast is average but they have nice cannoli. The location is very central and close to most places. There’s a newly furnished building opposite the main one and it has some rooms there. From the picture on the booking website, I think those are the privilege room, though it has never been mentioned anywhere that it is in a separate building.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Hotel Mercure Palermo Centro. I would like to clarify some points you raised in your review. Firstly, I want to specify that the Hotel Mercure Palermo Centro is not from the seventies, but it opened in 2004. I'm sorry if the room furnishings didn't meet your expectations. We constantly strive to maintain standards of comfort and modernity, and we will certainly take into consideration your feedback regarding the need for a refurbishment of the room furnishings. Regarding the location of the privilege rooms, it is clearly stated on the hotel's website that they are located in either the main building or the adjacent newly furnished building. I apologize if this information was not clear during the booking process. We will do our best to improve communication on this matter. We are glad you enjoyed our breakfast, especially the cannoli. Guest feedback is very important to us, and we will take your comments into consideration to further improve the variety and quality of available options. Lastly, I'm sorry if you encountered inefficiencies in the staff service. We constantly strive to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests, and we will use your feedback to further improve our services. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a more satisfying experience. Best regards,

Good room and bathroom. Air con did not seem to work but not a problem as it’s February. Unexpected to get a large balcony. Staff all helpful. Breakfast was pretty good too. Would have been good to have more English TV channels. Overall a very good choice.

This is a centrally located hotel near the tourist sites and shopping district. The room was very quiet despite being in the center of the city. The lobby is spacious and attractive, with a bar open in the evening. I had the morning breakfast, which was good, although it was very busy because of tour groups. Our room had a terrace, which was a nice touch.

Had four days in this great city and thought the Mecure was well positioned for access to all the main sites of interest! We had two rooms in the Anex just around the corner from main hotel which were very good spacious and clean! Breakfast was very good with Anna excellent serving the coffee! One complaint no Glasses in the rooms ! Just poor thin paper cups ! When I asked at the bar for two glasses one with some ice in and one for taking medication I was refused by the barman Andria ? Who was quite rude!!! I have never been in Hotel where there are no glasses and no cups for hot drinks just poor small thin paper cups ! Apart from this small problem, well worth booking

We did a Sicily Trip with the Italian American Club of Hollywood Fl. Some of us wanted to spend a night in Palermo before the trip started. We booked the Mercure Hotel and so glad we did. The rooms were modern, clean and big. The staff was exceptionally nice. Anna at the desk couldn’t be nicer as well as the entire staff. I highly recommend the Mercure when visiting Palermo. It’s conveniently located with great accommodations and an excellent breakfast. Ciao Ron Tipa
