This is a great place to stay if using the train station , only 3 minute walk away. The former palace is in some ways a little jaded but still has character with most if not all rooms having a balcony overlooking the side street. The rooms are clean with a nice ,fully equiped bathroom. The wifi works extremely well, and staff are helpful enough with good English. The safe in my room did not work properly but if it did nt have one I probably would nt have commented. The big drawback for me was that breakfast is no longer provided at the hotel. Vouchers are given for a cafe a 5 minute walk away. Not so bad in itself. But the voucher only gets you a hot drink and a large pastry. Not even any juice ( unless paid for as extra). The location and cost still make it a good choice unless you really need a large breakfast.

This inexpensive three star hotel is a gem. The renovated villa is gorgeous. The rooms- while not large- are tastefully done, with plenty of electrical outlets and a practical bathroom. There is no electric kettle in the room for making tea or coffee, but a machine outside the breakfast room makes any variety of coffee for 0.50 Euro. The room has a safe and adequate storage for clothing. The bed was comfortable. Two courtyards are beautifully detailed and provide a pleasant refuge from the world at large. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, cheeses, coffee, tea, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and much more. One can eat in the courtyard or in the pleasantly appointed breakfast room looking out to the courtyard. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The chief receptionist and manager, Francesco, looked out for us personally during our almost two weeks in the hotel. The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the central train station. One can walk to the Duomo Square and Via Etnea in around 20 minutes. All of Sicily is accessible by train from the nearby train station, where one can also find busses and a nearby metro station. The Catania Museum of Cinema (fascinating!) and the moving Museum of the Invasion of Sicily (WWII Operation Hugo) adjoin each other less than a ten minute walk from the hotel. Two reasonable restaurants are across the street adjacent to the train station - an excellent Japanese one and a no-frills but good Italian one. If we ever return to Catania - this will be our hotel of choice. We love the place!

The location is great. It’s 2-3min away from the bus station. The airport shuttle bus arrives here. The room is clean, although the condiments were not enough. WiFi reception is fast. I’m satisfied. Breakfast is not bad. The local cookies are savory. The staff is helpful to give me the directions to the city center and deals with my equity by email quickly. The price is so reasonable!!

Strange place clearly at the outskirts. Close to the airport and bus terminal but nothing else. The decorations are strange and outdated imagine gem stones and crowns decorating the hallways. Quite a trek into any sites. Gritty neighborhood Breakfast was fine but nothing great.
