Loved this hotel. The staff were gracious and lovely. Great location. Beds were so good we had trouble.crawling out of them. Very helpful as were most people we met in Venice. Would stay again when visiting and wouldn't bother with anywhere else unless they are...More
I've now stayed at this hotel twice and I've got to say they are consistently excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive. The location is outstanding, just off San Marco Square. The rooms are good.

Stayed here this weekend and had a fabulous stay. The hotel is well presented and very clean. The room's decor was classic and tasteful. Unfortunately we didn't have a view of St Marks Square as we were on the street side of the hotel, which...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We are used to having a porter meet us. In this case we didnt and we dragged the luggage ourselves through the square. It was not that fun. So I suggest you call the hotel and book a private taxi pickup with porter to and from the dock. The private taxi was easy to get ,it was around 60 euros.Of course you wont have to worry about that if take care of it in advance. So start with the hotel.Marina and David were especially helpful. Ask if you need more info from me.
On the departure we were smart enough to get a pick up service. The guy came to the hotel and escorted us to the water taxi , which was really close. And he stayed with us untill we checked in,THIS WAS REALLY GREAT,I DONT KNOW WHAT WE WOULD HAVE DONE .YES IN CAPS.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GO TO THE AIRPORT ON YOUR OWN.
