Reasonable hotel, basic bath ware, limited dining facilities and whilst ‘Prince’ In the bar was a conversationlist, he ripped off the hotels customers. For a such a vibrant area and so close to St Marco’s Square, they could make a better effort for all. Would...More
The location is fantastic, right on Piazza San Marco, the staff were all very friendly and professional, I can't fault them. Breakfast was good and there was a lot to choose from each day.
Our bed was comfortable and the shower was good.
We had a lovely room overlooking a busy street. However, we were not troubled by noise at all and generally slept well. Breakfast offers a nice choice of cooked and continental options and the hot items were frequently topped up.

We found a special deal last September for a room with a view of St. Marco square. It turned out to be a bedroom and sitting room combination that was really nice. It was only a 10 minute easy walk from the water boat. Very...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We took the water bus(blue line) from the airport to St. Mark's Square. That took about an hour and a half. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from there. Ian provided good directions below. Cost was 15 Euro per person.
