I stayed here with a friend for her birthday and we absolutely loved it! The location is perfect and although our rooms weren't ready when we came in (always happens with an early flight) they did make sure to get our room ready promptly and...More
I've now stayed at this hotel twice and I've got to say they are consistently excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive. The location is outstanding, just off San Marco Square. The rooms are good.

My husband had to travel to Venice for a week for a work trip and they put him up in this beautiful hotel. I couldn't resist joining him for two night since I only had to pay for my flight. The hotel was comfortable and...More

It was a big mistake when I decided for this hotel. I think the maximum rate is 2+ stars. It's in a very old bad condition and needs to be repaired. When I used the bath I had a feeling that either plaster or tile...More
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We are used to having a porter meet us. In this case we didnt and we dragged the luggage ourselves through the square. It was not that fun. So I suggest you call the hotel and book a private taxi pickup with porter to and from the dock. The private taxi was easy to get ,it was around 60 euros.Of course you wont have to worry about that if take care of it in advance. So start with the hotel.Marina and David were especially helpful. Ask if you need more info from me.
On the departure we were smart enough to get a pick up service. The guy came to the hotel and escorted us to the water taxi , which was really close. And he stayed with us untill we checked in,THIS WAS REALLY GREAT,I DONT KNOW WHAT WE WOULD HAVE DONE .YES IN CAPS.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GO TO THE AIRPORT ON YOUR OWN.
