Upon arrival in Venice we found the hotel quite easily in one of the smartest districts of the city. Check-in was simple and the receptionist couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming. We were thrilled that the hotel management had upgraded our room as it...More

In general, everything was good, but it was a special weekend connected with my husband's birthday, and I was choosing a hotel for a long time. When I found the Westin E&R hotel I fell in love with a stunning grand channel

This is my third time staying in this hotel, we always had a lovely time, amazing location, lovey staff at the bar.

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We were with a tour so our transportation was provided. We took the train from Florence to Venice. I know there is vehicle parking at the train station and at the airport. You have to take a water taxi to get to the hotel. It costs $125 Euro whether there is one or six. I would contact the hotel concierge for advice. Waking and the water bus (ACTV) is the best way to get around Venice. Buy a day pass for the water bus. Go to the Fodors website. There is detailed information. If you are driving a rental car, why not turn it in during your two days in Venice.

Breakfast was not included for a Westin SPG member. We ordered room service breakfast at about 50 euro per day. No concierge lounge. There is a Grand Canal-side bar that is pleasant with "small plate" menu items.
