#38 of 137 hotels in Turin
The Diplomatic hotel is one of the most prestigious hotels in Turin, located in the historic centre of the city, a few metres from the Porta Susa railway station, the main hub of high-speed rail transit between France and Italy. However you choose to get to the Diplomatic, the hotel is convenient due to its proximity to the Torino Caselle "Sandro Pertini" airport terminal, to the new underground line which takes you to the "Lingotto Fiere" Congress Centre in a few minutes, to the Polytechnic University of Turin, the Olympic Stadium and the new Juventus stadium.Strolling under the beautiful and historic arcades in Turin you reach the city’s most beautiful squares (Piazza Castello, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Piazza San Carlo, Piazza Carlo Felice), the main places of “Turin nightlife” (the Roman Quarter (Quadrilatero Romano), the Murazzi, the Banks of the River Po, the Dora Docks, the Valentino Park), the most important museums and cathedrals (the Egyptian Museum, The Museum of Cinema, the OGR Officine Grandi Riparazioni, the Mole Antonelliana, the Chapel of the Shroud, the churches of Gran Madre and Maria Ausiliatrice).

Hotel Diplomatic is an excellent place to stay if you are driving to Turin. The hotel is in the centre of Turin and has garage parking. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff are very wellcoming. Good value with breakfast that is much improved since we stayed last year. Great location all the good restaurants and places of interest are nearbye.

Had a fine stay. Areas for improvement: - maid should refill minibar and amenities like shampoo daily. - airconditioning did not work. Reception staff was very helpful and kind. Same applies for staff at the breakfast room.

The hotel has a convenient location if you're using Porta Susa railway station, just a couple of minutes' walk away. Also only 10 minutes or so from the centre of the city. Our room was fine. But just to echo some other recent comments, the breakfast room was severely understaffed, and given the current Covid situation it was surprising that they have kept the buffet going, as not everyone can be relied upon to wear face masks and maintain social distancing. There were just two members of staff working at the buffet, and they are completely overworked. They can't keep up with replenishing food, clearing tables, and reminding people to wear face masks at the buffet, despite doing their very best to do so. Also one pair of guests saw fit to bring a dog to the buffet. It wasn't a guide or assistance dog as far as I could see. Apologies if this is acceptable in Italy, but I haven't seen this anywhere before in Italy (or anywhere else). I know a few guests were uncomfortable with this. We mentioned the breakfast problems twice at reception but nothing seemed to be done.

Convenient location, comfortable well-equipped room, helpful reception staff. Good breakfast, and staff ensured guests wore masks when moving around the buffet. Only problem was that water temperature in the shower was a bit erratic (5th floor).

We were surprised to be welcomed by a receptionist not wearing a mask, touching the guests keys without sanitizing, while telling us to strictly follow the covid protocole... this already put us off a bit from the beginning. Then we were given 2 rooms quite far apart, not so spacious. The beds were quite uncomfortable, frankly speaking, much below anything we experienced in subsequent hotels in Italy. But the worst to us was breakfast. The hotel still provides full buffet, which is quite surprising in the age of covid. There is only one staff member on duty to clean, and it was obvious she was totally stressed and overwhelmed. All guests help themselves, touch the food on display. This is not at all reassuring. For these reasons I do not recommend this place.
