PROS: - Near the train station of Padova - Rooms are decent with old furniture style - Bed & cushion was comfortable - Cordial Receptionists - Breakfast was just okay CONS: - Near by area is like not being in Italy, as full of immigrants - Late night feeling is uncomfortable & unsafe - Still use the old blankets (refer to the image) which are considered unhygienic - Lighting is dull in the room Definitely the space to improve with time is necessary.

It was well priced and convenient to leave and arrive at the train station. It wasn’t far to walk into the town and the water was hot and the showers had great water pressure. They also had soy milk for breakfast and the coffee was nice. The staff were lovely. The rooms are dated but that doesn’t bother me. Plenty of space to hang my dresses. The downsides were, the room smelled of cigarette smoke and the pillows were heavy and hard as a rock. I couldn’t use them. Luckily there was a spare. I would probably stay elsewhere next time.

I choose this hotel for its location - near railway station and at a walking distance from the city center. Staff was polite and helpful. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. Plenty of cafes in the neighborhood.

I did not visit the hotel, because i just had to wait vor my bus...But I felt so unsure alone on the busstation in the middle of the night and tried to find something, a secure waiting area. The concierge was so friendly, i really like to say thank you! One day when I go there i would like to stay in this house!

The hotel is near the center but not in the center. They have a courtyard to park your car. The rooms are clean and the personnel is very kind. The kindly give information about the city and where you can eat good food. Breakfast is good with fresh bread and sweets and good cappuccino. One point of attention: when somebody enters the hotel, you hear a bell; not nice early in the morning.

This is an often overlooked hotel. It is ideally located 3 minutes from the train station, down an alley off the main street so it is very quiet. It has an excellent breakfast included, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only thing is, like many hotels in Italy the air conditioning isn't turned on until May, so April can be a bit uncomfortable if it is hot, but it normally cools a night. The staff are very friendly as this is a family owned hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Udine.

In most cities on the planet, you don't expect to find a decent, clean and respectable hotel right next to the train station. But Udine doesn't appear to have any seedy areas at all, so the location of this hotel--literally two or three minutes from the station--shouldn't put you off. It's set back from the street so it's extremely quiet too. The staff are super-friendly, everything is very clean, and breakfast is quite substantial (you have to pay extra in advance for breakfast, but if you're normally a big eater in the morning it's a fantastic deal). Initially I was alarmed at the thin blanket on the bed, since it was January! but the room was so toasty warm all night that it was perfectly adequate. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have been using this hotel for almost ten years. It is conveniently located up a driveway near the station but far enough away not to suffer the noise of it. As with all towns, the station area is a draw for dodgy types and alas Udine is no exception: disposed youth and immigrants loiter around but I have never felt remotely unsafe at any hour of the day or night. The hotel itself cannot lay claim to character: a prima facie reaction would rate it a bit dated and soulless. But that is to miss the point. This hotel is spotlessly clean. The beds are big and very comfortable. Rooms are warm in winter and air conditioned in summer. Yes they would benefit from larger, more modern televisions and, more importantly, a safe in which to deposit valuables. But these are minor niggles. Add does anyone watch hotel televisions these days? There's free wi-fi throughout so keep your iPad Or laptop charged. The self-service breakfast provides a more than ample choice and with delicious fresh croissants and coffee that would do any cafe proud, my needs are always fully met! There's free parking in the courtyard and courtesy umbrellas for use during the rainfalls. Udine town centre is a ten / fifteen minutes maximum walk away and there are many good restaurants within ten minutes walk. Saving the best until last it's the staff. People make any business and the family owners of the Hotel Principe have a talent for employing the nicest, kindest, most helpful and welcoming personnel it's a pleasure to interact with. Most speak good English and nothing is too much trouble. Over the years I have made a point of canvassing and then following their restaurant suggestions. They have sent me to some of the finest dining rooms I know (will be posting separate reviews). Conclusion: a clean, modest, unpretentious hotel deserving of its three stars status. Honestly priced, if you're just looking for somewhere decent to spend a night or two you won't go far wrong at the Hotel Principe.
