Good hotel without being exceptional. The rooms, in particular the bathrooms need some remodulation – shower plastic curtains is something quite disagreeable, mainly if they glue to your body… The staff is experienced, and the breakfast is good. Also, the walking distance to the center is acceptable – about 10/15 minutes.
Stayed for one night ( thankfully no more). It was Sunday. Seems only 1 person works at the Hotel on Sundays. Seems the whole town is dead on a Sunday. It was deserted. Hotel Bar and restaurant closed all day and night. We’d travelled 8 hrs to get here. It’s 38c and we’re thirsty. Receptionist directs me to a Petrol ( Gas) station for a drink. Room was basic. Thin, bouncy mattress and no safe. Breakfast.......... well. No eggs, no fruit. Cheap, bland juices but the coffee was very nice. Not for me!
Our stay at Hotel Friuli was fine. Reception staff were pleasant and we had a room facing the back on the 5th floor, which had a lovely view. The hotel and rooms seem old and dated and there is a slightly stale smell (maybe because at some point in its history it was smoking was allowed in the rooms). Breakfast was fine, good offerings by Italian standards. It seems the hotel is used by tour groups so the breakfast room was very busy when we went (8am). Location wise it is technically close to the lovely old part of town, however there is a canal which means it is not as close to walk as it might seem on a map.
I stayed at the Friuli last year and again this year. This year was better. Why? Because I knew to ask for a room facing the back, away from all the noise out front. It made a world of difference. And the internet was working better this time. The rooms are fine, the staff are friendly. There's a mini-bar, but no room safe, and the TV channels are very limited. The location works for the coach tours that use the place, but is on the wrong side of town and far from the rail station. Maybe that helps to keep the price under control. It's not a deluxe hotel, but an option to consider if you are on a budget -- and if you can get a room facing away from the street.
Except for the reception staff being a little abrupt which is not surprising, given that this is Italy, the hotel ticks all the boxes. Location, cleanliness, big room, good Italian breakfast, safe, off-street parking. Easy walk to the beautiful old town. A little old from the outside but don’t judge this book by it’s cover. Don’t rely on the WiFi. My husband tried the restaurant and was also pleasantly surprised. Great scallopini.
This hotel has all the facilities you need and is nice and near the centre. The bedroom was comfortable and well equipped with TV, tea and coffee making facilities, air con, hair dryer. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the breakfast was extensive with the usual cold meats, cheese, pastries, cake, yoghurt and fruit. We would stay here again - the hotel has parking facilities. We would stay here again.
This hotel is well located... 15 blocks from the train station. But unfortunately, it is a very noisy street so we have to close the windows (doing this, there are no problems to sleep). Members of staff are so nice and helpful. Wi-fi was good . The room was clean, and breakfast buffet was fine... although there are so many tables to take breakfast, that morning the was plenty of guests, consequently I share my table with another guest (of course it was not mandatory). Additionally, if you come by car, there is a big place available to park.
I stayed one night with a friend in Hotel Friuli. We booked the hotel the same day at 75 EUR including breakfast for one night. We asked for a room with two single-beds. We got more than that. We got a small suite with two separate rooms, nothing fancy but a really pleasant surprise, when we expected one small room :-) The breakfast surprised on the positive side when one takes the 75 EUR per night into consideration.
The staff at this hotel are so nice and helpful that I feel bad about only giving 3 stars, but there are two main reasons. First, it is on a very busy and noisy road, and there's another one not far from the back of the hotel. I live on a busy road at home, but the combination of traffic, garbage trucks, the gas station right next door, and people coming in and out of the hotel at all hours meant I was woken up repeatedly. Second, and less excusable, the wifi is very unreliable. Quite a few days, I could only get online in the morning by stumbling about barefoot in the corridor outside my room waving my tablet about. And even when I could get online and returned to my room, the wifi crashed every few minutes. The room was clean, the staff were nice, the breakfast buffet was fine (although more expensive than at comparable hotels friends were staying at in Udine). There was no mini-safe, but I don't expect that with a 3 star. There was a well stocked minibar. However, none of the positives can make up for the two big problems, and so I would not choose to stay here.…
