The Location is incomparable: next door and with a (bathroom) view of the basilica of Aquileia. We had a number of meals there; best is the seafood such as Fritto di mare and of course, the marvelous pastries and cakes. The clothes rail was poorly mounted and loose; in the bathroom the heating was stuck together with a plaster … and did not work during our stay. A shade over the reading lamp could not be lowered so the glare disturbed if is was turned on. Reported on the first day, it was - as the heating - never fixed.
This is a very traditional Italian old-school hotel. We stayed for one night while enroute from Slovenia. Our room was nice and quite and did what we needed it to do. Breakfast was basic and came with no hot food served - just the usual cold cuts and pastries.
Have been to Aquileia several times to visit the ruins of this ancient place that once rivaled Rome, but this was the first time we spent the night. Stumbled on the Hotel Patriarchi ... just walked in. What a pleasant experience ... most courteous, friendly and helpful people, great facilities (very nice/clean room and a great breakfast), and perfect parking. Given the opportunity, would definitely stay here again!
We stayed overnight here and it was a great experience. The hotel and rooms are clean and tidy the meals are fantastic, service from management and staff is very customer focused, the rooms are very spacious. The place is very quiet as we didn't hear any road noise Most rooms all have external windows for natural ventilation. I highly reccomend this hotel .
We stayed for one night and it was such a shame it was raining as this was a lovely town . Breakfast was not the best , coffee was poor and service at breakfast was not sharp . Rooms were dated , and bed linen was not heavy enough for the weather , Views from the window of the clock tower was lovely
Stayed at this hotel as part of our cycling trip around the Adriatic. Really very comfortable rooms, well equipped, clean and spacious. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Had supper in the restaurant and the food was very good and plentiful.
If you stay here try to get a room away from the bell tower; the bells dong for extended periods and the a/c doesn't work well so you have to leave the windows open! Wifi service sketchy. Food was fair. All staff were exceptionally friendly & accommodating but hotel is old and could use updating.
A large room with two sets of shuttered windows and a good sized bathroom. Friendly staff. The restaurant offered a reasonably priced set menu with OK food. Breakfast was a basic continental with not much choice. Fairly unexciting hotel in a very special town.
This is a delightful, traditional Italian hotel. Our room on the second floor was large with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. There is no lift. We faced the main road but the excellent secondary glazing meant you didn't hear anything and the shutters stopped any glare from street or headlights. There was a well fitted shower, toilet, bidet and basin with soap, shampoo, a hairdryer and soft towels. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was similarly Italian - cereals, fresh fruit, ham and cheese as well as yoghourts and cakes, and fresh coffee from the bar. Staff were pleasant and helpful. There is plenty of free parking outside and it's only a short walk to the Basilica or to the museum. Recommended.
My family and I stayed at the Hotel Patriarchi so that I could visit the Roman remains of Aquileia for my research. The hotel is in a fantastic location for visiting the basilica, the museum, and nearby sites. Our room was very large and it had a beautiful view of the basilica, its tower, and the countryside. The hotel is really charming, and the staff were very pleasant. The hotel is on the main road through town and has convenient parking. There is a good restaurant at the hotel and there are other places within walking distance. Because the hotel is on the main road to Grado (the beach town, about 10 minutes away), there is fairly constant traffic. So, you may feel more comfortable driving to some of the sites and restaurants further away. If you are a cyclist, the hotel is near a really great trail, and some of the hotel's guests appeared to be on long cycling trips.…
