Extra charge (80 euros as tourist tax) + very dirty hotel + shameful breakfast (just awful croissants) + broken shower drainage + air conditioner was off most of the time + disrespectful staff + very dirty and insecure area + full of lizards.

Booked through Expedia thankfully! Arrived at hotel to find that the Vicious Hotel had ceased trading. Expedia apparently knew nothing about this even though the "new owners" had previous people turn up. "New owners" had no reservations for us. Finally sorted with Expedia and as...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only
way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The
Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas
in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s
famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to
its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub,
Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot
vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up

Very close. It's like 15-20 mins away. But you'll have to walk along the railway zone which is a dirty area full of dubious people.
