Elegant building in the peace of a green park. Service beyond the 4 stars awarded. Restaurant 481 is the most refined you could ask for, with prices appropriate to the service offered. The rooms are comfortable and spotless, silence and relaxation are the leitmotif of the hotel. I also had the opportunity to be a guest for a conference and on this occasion too they proved to be extremely welcoming and professional. Impossible not to return.

It was a large, nice looking hotel with huge layout in terms of lobby and common areas. The rooms were generally ok, just a bit small. The breakfast was decent and had a good variety, however the breakfast room was not air conditioned and seemed very hot.
Location was near a metro station called Cornelia, which is very convenient to get to all the sights. This is particularly important, as Rome shockingly has practically no metro lines other than 2 or 3. Having been to other capitals like London, Paris and Berlin, which have at least a dozen or more metro lines serving every corner of the respective capitals, we were often stranded in very central places with no way back to the hotel or the nearest metro station without taking a taxi.
Disliked: The rooms did not have shampoo, conditioner, or shower caps upon arrival. (But we got 2 little shoe sponges and ear cleaning buds) Generally, not one of the 4 Italian hotels we stayed at offered hair conditioner, which we eventually had to buy in a shop. My daughters’ room had “hand wash” installed in their shower cubicle, not even body wash. I had to call reception to get some shampoo for both rooms and body wash. There was no make up mirror. My room had no proper hair dryer, but something that looked like the hose of a vacuum cleaner.
The air conditioning was not strong enough and we slept in sweltering heat of 25 degrees. Generally, all Italian hotels we stayed at were set to 24 or 25 degrees as the lowest point, which really doesn’t cut it for a comfortable night of sleep. The air con unit was positioned directly under the window sill, so all the cold air was blowing at the sill and behind the window curtains. So the actual room temp was more like 27 degrees.
The check in took easily 25-30 min just for us, as the receptionist spent an endless amount of time with our passports and with the city tax. They weren’t particularly friendly.

Response from TH Resorts, Marketing at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace Hotel
Responded Apr 22, 2024
Dear Twettiseek, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of staying at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace. TH Roma - Carpegna Palace is a modern and well-maintained hotel located in the northern area of Rome. The city center is easily accessible from TH Roma, with the Cornelia metro stop being approximately 5 minutes away. We understand your disappointment regarding the development of the Capital's metro network. The abundance of historical artifacts underground always poses challenges for the expansion and realization of major projects such as the metro. We apologize for the incidents you reported during your stay last summer. We are constantly working to improve our service. We would love to have the opportunity to host you again when you return to Rome. Best Regards, The Management and Team of TH Roma - Carpegna Palace.

It is a high quality hotel in a well-renovated ancient structure, a beautiful example of modernity in a historic setting. The reception staff are excellent. Nonetheless, the care of the rooms is entrusted to qualified personnel. The breakfast service is also excellent. The bar offers an opportunity for elegant and peaceful relaxation. The entire structure is of excellence, immersed in enchanting greenery where it is possible to take long walks in the shade of the centuries-old pine trees. If needed, upon call from the hotel, the taxi arrives almost immediately. This shortens the distances from the centre, but at the same time you are aware of being in a non-chaotic environment, excellent for those who love peace and the possibility of experiencing ancient Rome.

My/our experience was this is not a 4 star hotel based on the room quality and the service you will likely be offered, We booked a short 4 night stay in Rome, our experience was so poor we checked out after 1 day. The reception staff we dealt gave the impression of not caring at all about stay, nor did they provide any information to us. We had a junior suite on the second floor, it was dark and dingy, being badly lit, the was a single narrow window that looked out on as other reviews have noted the waste bins. The room was very dated, the bathroom was dated and in parts dirty, the shower cubicle was dirty inside and out in the areas of sealant was blown and dirty, beds were uncomfortable. The wardrobe had 4 of the hotel type coat hangers that can't be removed therefore the hotel had deemed 4 coat hangers as acceptable - this is a minor point but a key point as to the level of detail and customer service that is not present. The room had barely any facilities, an old small fridge, a dodgy hairdryer in the bathroom, a phone to ring reception , a safe deposit box, a mirror, there were two plug sockets in the room neither of which were by the beds. The room just felt a really uncomfortable place to be. Also there was a smoke/fire detector (or suchlike) in our room, this had a flashing red LED light that would flash every few seconds, illuminating the room with a red/orange glow not best to put it mildly when trying to sleep. The location of the hotel is poor,it is akin to thinking you are booking a city break in central London and realising your hotel is in one of the outer London boroughs, we travelled on the Metro and coming back on the Metro late at night to the hotel and walking from the Metro station to the hotel did not feel safe due the area and locality the hotel is in . Breakfast was very mediocre and the circular dinning room we were served breakfast in was again very dated in appearance. There is a good adage buy cheap buy twice. We when checked out after 1 day instead of 4 the reception staff did not even enquire as to any reason why we were leaving early, which should tell you all you need to know.
In summary very dated and poor quality rooms offered to holiday makers, really inattentive staff who seem like they could not care less about your stay, very poor location ( partly our fault for not thoroughly researching), mediocre food offered for breakfast. Rome is an expensive place to visit do not waste your money booking this hotel even though it may seem to on the surface offer value for money, also do not equate the outside of the hotel or reception area with what your room will be like.

Response from TH Resorts, Marketing at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace Hotel
Responded Nov 9, 2022
Dear Richard S, thank you for sharing your experience of your stay in Rome. We are sorry that your staying in Rome did not meet your expectations. The Junior Suites at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace are located on the 3rd floor of the hotel, they have two separated rooms, the bathrooms all renovated, two large and bright windows overlooking the 5-hectare park in which TH Roma is immersed. The room description given in the review does not reflect the layout and elements found within the Junior Suites at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace, but details of lower category rooms in the Hotel, which are kept to reflect the standards of a 4-star hotel. Some areas of the hotel were renovated a few years ago, including the common areas, Junior Suites and Prestige rooms, it seems odd to us that in the Junior Suites both the rooms and their bathrooms could be considered old and worn. We are building the waste disposal island to deposit waste and have it collected by the municipal company, which is very often late with the removal. We would like to host you on holiday at TH Roma, so that you can discover the services and comfort of a holiday in Italy. Kind regards The Management and the entire Team of TH Roma - Carpegna Palace.

Superb hotel located a short distance from the Cornelia metro station and surrounded by a large park where you can
park your car quietly. Very large and well maintained spaces at the entrance to the lobby. In the hotel you can also take advantage of a
bars and even a church. Rooms are spacious and cleanliness is impeccable and towels are replaced daily.
Breakfast is plentiful and of good quality and served in a very large room. Sunday I could also taste a Maritozzo. Very welcome coffee and cappuccino
served not by the machines but by the waiting staff who were also very helpful to provide us with gluten-free foods.
Definitely one of my points of reference if I return to Rome.

The hotel is located on a sprawling lot just 10-15 mins form the Vatican, there are quite a number of restaurants, and likeise a Mcdonalds just outside the hotel, but I believe it is in a relatively residential area. Stayed here twice during May, the first time on the fourth floor which is a budget flor and if I may say, to avoid these rooms since there are no windows and they are quite small. Eventually we moved to a classic room on the third floor which is much bigger and has windows. There was AC when we checkd in during May which was very convenient, the in house restaurant is quite good and service is OK, the linens clean and likewise with the bathroom, If there is an area to be improved on, it would definitely be the breakfast buffet area, it can be busy and you can run out of seats on certain hours. The food is good but the replenishment is very very slow and the servers are quite rude. They could learn a thing or two wt professiona courtesy and restaurant service. During busy times, it takes some time for the dishes to be replenished and if you are on a tight schedule, then you are forced to eat what is left on the tables. It will be a 60-40 chance if ever i will stay here again, but it passes my standards. Special shout out to Barbara who seems to be the kindest and friendliest among the front desk, the others could also learn a thing or two in smiling and dealing with guests

Dear benychua65, we are delighted that you returned twice in the same month to TH Roma - Carpegna Palace for a vacation in the Eternal City. Thank you! We are pleased that you appreciated the services offered by TH Roma, particularly the air conditioning, the quality of the Hotel restaurant, the linens, and the bathroom. Your second stay allowed you to see other rooms compared to your first vacation and to find the one that best meets your vacation needs. We take inspiration from your comment to improve the breakfast service and ensure the buffet is always well-stocked. We would love to welcome you back for a third vacation at TH Roma. Best regards, The Management and the entire Team at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace.

A 5 star experience not to be missed. This hotel is a haven of calm and comfort nothing is too much for the people working there.
Please take advantage of the barbecue meal as it is out of this world with buffet style service wine and 5 star food in the hotel outside heated garden.
The outside barman gave first class service to many guests and always had a happy smile.
The rooms don’t have air conditioning but they have windows and the breeze cooled the room down.
It is a 20 minute metro ride from main attractions however the metro station is within 2 minutes walk. Turn right from the hotel then cross at the first crossing on the left. Continue past the supermarket and flower shop and then you will see the metro.
After a great day sightseeing it is a safe haven away from the residential area it’s located in. Beautiful scenery and setting peaceful and top notch.

Dear rlcook74, Thank you for awarding us top marks in your review. At TH Roma - Carpegna Palace, you can enjoy the tranquility of the lush greenery in the northern part of Rome, nestled within the Hotel’s 6-hectare park. During the summer, TH Roma hosts an evening barbecue that guests can savor on the Restaurant 481 Terrace, accompanied by a fine glass of wine under the starlit sky. The hotel rooms are equipped with air conditioning, although it’s always delightful to open the windows and let in the refreshing Roman breeze. TH Roma - Carpegna Palace offers the perfect balance: a peaceful retreat away from the bustle of the city, while still being just a short metro ride from Rome’s main tourist attractions. We would be delighted to welcome you back for another stay at TH Roma. Best regards, The Management and the entire Team at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace

Lovely hotel from the outside, the ground floor, and the corridors. We picked this hotel due to what looks online like a regal and grand hotel in the middle of a park.
Then you get to your room. At a supposed 4 star hotel
At ÂŁ260 a night I'd expect an awful lot more than uncomfortable beds, no Aircon a ridiculously small shower with miniscule water pressure.
Clearly sound insulation was not a consideration either as you can hear every movement next door and anyone walking down the corridor.
I particularly enjoyed the view over what appears to be a bus/coach depot that wasn't mentioned on the website.
Breakfast was good, with a coffee bar, again with a 4 star hotel you'd expect someone to man the coffee area at breakfast and not appear to be massively out out when you ask for a coffee.
Nothing wrong with the hotel, but having paid a lot for a 4 star hotel not in the city I'd expect better. Summer in the rooms must be a nightmare.

Dear michaeljmaccallum, Thank you for sharing your experience with us here. During your stay in Rome, after a brief period of rain and cooler-than-usual temperatures, the sun returned, and temperatures rose again. This was a city-wide occurrence, and unfortunately, we were unable to reactivate the air conditioning (which is always operational during the summer) due to energy-saving regulations. The TH Roma - Carpegna Palace is a comfortable hotel, and we regret that it did not fully meet your vacation expectations. The hotel is nestled in a 6-hectare park, some areas of which border other buildings and constructions beyond our control. We would be delighted to welcome you back for another stay at TH Roma. Best regards, The Management and the entire Team of TH Roma - Carpegna Palace.

A location that promises to be spectacular from the outside with its magnificent park, in an ancient palace.
Standard rooms equipped with normal comforts, flat-screen TV, bathroom with shower. Comfortable bed. Average international breakfast, a strong point is the attention to detail and the cleanliness of the room, I had requested a bathrobe and every morning I found it beautifully folded on the bed! The only flaw is a very narrow desk for those who have to work on the PC and similar.
Hotel also equipped with an excellent gym and a fantastic wellness center, it deserves a special mention, the girl who manages the wellness center, who gave me a spectacular decontracting massage and who made me feel like new again, congratulations đź‘Ť attention to detail in general it is not missing. Reception, security, and very well-kept and beautiful common areas. A walk in the park on a sunny Roman day after a hard day is very relaxing.
Although slightly removed from the center, it is close to all public transport. By taxi, you can reach San Pietro in 10/15 minutes.
The transfer service from the airport was also very well looked after and upon return they paid truly commendable attention to one of my problems. I will definitely return for my next stop in the city.

The facility is very well looked after.
The services are not up to par
Poor cleaning. Very bad I would say
Two days with dirty saucers on the table and crumbs everywhere for three days
Even though I pointed this out, the saucers were removed after two days but the crumbs were not!
The sommier of the bed was visibly broken and torn
Dispersive breakfast room moving from one part of the immense canteen-like room to another to look for the spoon, the bread or the jam placed at the perimeter or in the center like market stalls with a shortage of products that are not restocked
There is no table service which must be the prerogative of those who claim the 4 S stars
No freshly squeezed juice but undrinkable orange juice
In short, we bought it at the bar
Terrible wellness service because it doesn't exist. They advertise it but in fact it isn't there
You have to write a whatsup and only after 24 hours, practically when the stay ends, you have a (negative) response to the requested service
Transfers advertised but there is a person who does it so what do they advertise it for if you can't use it? Inexistent
