I stayed here 3 times. always consistent and friendly. price was good and it is in walking distance of everything. and the staff will help with tours, etc. the restaurants in the area are real Italian and not tourist places
Our visit to the Hotel Italia was part of a 3 night trip to Rome for my sixtieth birthday arranged by my two Step-daughters and Son in law. The Hotel Italia is a budget Hotel in a quiet side street location off a bustling main street (Via Nazionale) 20 minute walk from the Colloseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, 25 minutes from Circus Maximus and 10 minutes from the Metro. It is a family run hotel and although classed as a 2 Star, I have stayed in 3 stars that have not been as good. On our arrival, we were greeted by the wonderful, Sabrina who would be an asset to any organisation. She immediately made my wife and myself, feel at home and then provided us with a tourist map and carefully outlined the Hotel Location and the various attractions (already mentioned, earlier) and described the best way to get to them. She then showed us to our room, which was classed as a budget room (#16). The room itself had recently been renovated with a new en-suite and was 'Spotlessly clean' There was a TV ,( not that we had any time to watch it!), Hair Drier and Tea and Coffee making facilities and a land line. Although not a large room, I certainly would not class it as small either! There was an Ice Making machine in the corridor too. The breakfast bar was adjacent to the Reception area and there was certainly something on the continental buffet to suit most people. The food ranged from Fresh Fruit, cereals, cakes, coissants, bread, Tomato and Mozarella, Cooked Meats, cheese and Boiled and Omelette style eggs, all regulary restocked and very well presented. To top it all, the Cappuccino was to die for💖. Without wanting to sound patronising, the 3 nights we spent there were perfect (apart from having to leave at 3am for the Airport for a 6am flight😪). We asked at reception if they could organise taxis for our trip to the Vatican and also our trip to the airport for our return home and both taxis were awaiting bang on the dot. Andrea the Owner and his staff have a little gem in the heart of Roma and made my Sixtieth birthday the most memorable of my life❤️. Roberto and Mario also get a special mention for their professionalism and helpfulness, but equally, all of the staff who work behind the scenes, making everything run smoothly at Hotel Italia, also deserve great credit. A very special place.…
From the moment we arrived everything was perfect - from check in - breakfast, room size, helpful staff, cleanliness A+++. Highly recommend this hotel to families Well Done - thanks for a great stay 🇦🇺
Hotel Italia is a OK. Good location. Clean. Good breakfast. OK value for the price. But: - We were put across the street in the annex. (A section of an apartment building, across the street from the hotel.) Not what we booked. The key, used to enter the apt building, was challenging to use. The foyer was an ugly apt building entrance. Garbage cans. etc. The elevator, in the apt building, was 'pay per use', with a timer. So, it was a bit of a race to get in, up and out in time. - The room was tiny, even for European standards. - The building the hotel is in, was under construction. (There was no mention of this on their website.)
This hotel was walking distance from the train station and sights such as Trajan's Market, the Trevi Fountain, and Colosseum which made it a convenient choice. The continental breakfast was fine, with very friendly staff providing coffee and tea. My one complaint is that the walls are very thin, making for a noisy experience from other guests and staff.
