Two months ago as we celebrated our 37th anniversary, we decided to have our next honeymoon, 12th prime number, in Rome. We wanted an authentic Roman experience. No palaces next to the Scala di Spagna nor shopping on Via Condotti. At this stage, you’re looking for the real and authentic, the core essence. Nothing you can buy online or in the shopping malls of Boca or Neiman Marcus. When you go to the Rinascente, you head straight to the seventh floor sunset bar to experience Roma at night. So we booked with Andrea an essential rooftop in Monti, the Roman equivalent to Greenwich Village or Neve Tzedek and plunged into a week-long street level living in Roma. Pure Bliss. Local Salse del Cuore and Verde Pesto on your rooftop terrace with local Ciabatta and Tuscan olive oil with a healthy Montalcino Rosso. Tonight service at the Great Synagogue of Roma. Back home we call that, ah mechayeh ! …
The room and place is okey, considering the price. Close to Vatican and Metro which is good. Stayed here with my girlfriend for a long weekend. Breakfast is factory made cookies and a yogurt, nothing special, and have to eat in the room. Sharing kitchen with neighbors (they stole some stuff from us). It's an awful sound coming from the bathroom, like water getting pushed through the pipes every 10sec. I see many mention a terrace with garden, we didn't find any. Also be aware that you will have to pay 3,5ekstra in city tax each person each night
I was looking for somewhere central & cheap and found this little gem. I loved it! The girl who was managing this quant B&B was so helpful and friendly. The location was spot on, the room tidy and staff 100%. If I ever visit Rome again I would stay here. July 2011
I don't normally write reviews, but I felt that this place warranted a write-up! We stayed here in April 2013 and cannot recommend it enough. The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance, with plenty of local restaurants nearby. It was nice to stay in an intimate B&B like this, rather than some big anonymous hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and the breakfast on the terrace was a nice touch. Fransesco was really friendly and informative, and we enjoyed listening to his stories in the morning over breakfast. When we return to Rome (our pennies are in the Trevi fountain so I know it will happen one day!), I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
my friend and I stayed 6 nights here in mid june- it was a lovely b and b ( we opted to go to the shop directly across the street each mornign and buy breakfast to eat on the b and b terrace) the room is spacious has air conditioning - most welcome in the hot rome summer! The terrace is lovely for coffee or a spot of peace and quiet. The area around via del boschetto is great for a non touristy roman experience- beautiful restaurants, supermarkets, bars and a metro station at cavour. We walked to the centre of rome most days- a 10 minute walk.
