This review is for the Ruins De Charme B&B in Pompeii as there seems be some confusion on this site. Pompeii has been on my bucket list for years and I had a booking for 12th October 2020 to stay at the above hotel. We were contacted 3 days before by the UK Government to say that unless we have a negative Covid 19 test result before we go we would not be allowed entry into Italy. This being impossible to achieve within the time frame I contacted the host to request that our dates be changed to next year as we still wanted to come. Dino the host refused to do this and charged us 50% of our booking fee, which was over £250, to cancel the booking. I pleaded with him to just allow us to change the dates to a time when the restrictions over Covid 19 had ended. He refused. He did offer a 30% discount on our next booking if we booked directly with him and not through Booking.com. I am a key worker and have worked since the start of this epidemic without a break and this was my dream holiday. £250 represents a weeks work for me so not something I can afford to lose. Booking.com also requested on our behalf that he either change the dates or waive the booking fee and he refused them too. I am shocked at Dino's refusal to change the dates. I am shocked he has made money out of our misery without a care for anyone else. I have no doubt he has a lovely B&B but does he have any compassion? So we have lost our flights, holiday and money and I am now left working overtime to make up the loss and try to save to visit this wonderful historical and fascinating site at a later date. And I will do this I guarantee you but we will not be staying at the Pompeii Ruins De Charme

The photos do not do this hotel any justice. So much attention to detail. Our room was lovely with a good sized bunk room for our teen girls. The bathroom was amazing with its double jacuzzi bath and we also had a small balcony(with an airer) overlooking the garden and the hills in the distance. Deino was lovely and welcoming. The kitchen and dining area were beautifully kept and our table for breakfast was meticulously laid out with all manner of deliciousness! So lovely that I forgot to take a photo! X

Beautiful room in a fabulous location just opposite the amphitheatre entrance to the ruins. This entrance is much quicker and less busy than the main one. Dino picked us up from Naples airport and was very helpful and kind. Despite being in a busy area our room was very quiet and comfortable. It is probably worth asking for a quiet room when you book as the front room is probably a lot noisier from the pub downstairs. Ours was totally silent at night though. Good food recommendations from Dino too.

This is an amazing place to stay. The owner Dino is fabulous and looked after us 24/7. We loved our room with a balcony and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms were very modern and to an excellent standard. We were opposite one of the main entrances to the Pompeii ruins. We visited this first and also did Naples, Ercolano and Vesuvio. Dino was brilliant and took us everywhere we wanted to go. The restaurants in Pompeii were superb and it was lovely to walk around in the evening. There was tea, coffee, beer and wine available whenever we wanted at the hotel. I have to say that it was an outstanding 1st trip to Italy and we feel in love with the place 100%. Can’t wait to go back and would most certainly stay at the Pompeii ruins B&B again.

Cold damp room. Bathroom was very mouldy. No tea and coffee facilities. Bed so uncomfortable. Breakfast was a chocolate croissant. Day time staff spoke no English. The night man spoke good English and was very helpful.
