Stayed at this hotel for one night during my camino. Best thing about the hotel is the location (right next to the old part of the city) and the owner of the hotel. He is friendly, positive, helpful, just an all around nice guy - and he speaks very good English and German. Room was ok, bit on the smallish side, but who cares, I only needed it for one night. Bathroom was very clean and the shower is really good (which is vital after a day of Camino). Have to mention the breakfast. These are difficult times with Covid and so on, but the owner does his best to still provide a great service, so the breakfast was really good, rich, lots of different choices and a great service. Can only recommend this hotel.
The Hotel Eslava is right on the edge of the old city and very close to the Camino. It was very well priced when I stayed one night while walking. The hotel has a nice old fashioned reception with a sitting area. The receptionist spoke good English and was very welcoming. He also printed a couple of pages for me and provided a city map which was very helpful. My room was a single but the bed was 3/4 size. The room was fairly small but adequate and also had a desk, a luggage stand and a fan. The bedroom had a tiled floor and the small bathroom was fully tiled. The room had a view of the city wall opposite but was high enough to get good afternoon sun. Everything was spotlessly clean and unscuffed. There was a small lift which is always welcome and the wifi worked well. I really liked this hotel and would stay there again.…
The gentleman that greeted us on arrival is an exceptional customer service provider. The room itself was clean, comfortable bed (except pillows too thin, but that's ok),and the breakfast was varied and VERY good! The gentleman working at the breakfast was lovely too. We arrived with a 3.5 year old, and it was easy for us to get around on foot quite easily from the Hotel Eslava. Highly recommended, would definitely stay there again next time.
It was a short walk from the train station along the river to the Hotel Eslava, which provided a good overnight stay before setting off on the Camino. This was the second time I have stayed at the hotel. The location is perfect. The hotel is a short walk from the train station. It is very convenient for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, which is a stone's throw from the hotel. It is only a short walk to everywhere within the old city. The hotel is cosy and while the carpet on the stairs might be showing its age, it also adds to the charm of the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The shower was good. Everything was clean. The staff are very friendly. When my bike was delivered to the hotel, the handlebars were turned for me, so all I had to do was screw on the pedals.
We have stayed in Pamplona for five years in a row during our Camino Frances. The Hotel Eslava is the best place we have found and we will definitely stay here again. It is a family owned hotel and the mother and two sons are involved in the operation on a daily basis. They were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was nice (it was No. 40) and had a nice view of the river and part of the city and an adjacent park. Another review mentioned noise from the nearby elevator, yes, there is one, but we never noticed it at all. This hotel has been owned and operated by the same family for fifty years. There is a bit of wear and tear here and there but I definitely recommend it for a nice comfortable stay. There is an 8,000 piece puzzle framed in the lobby!
