The only good thing about this "hostal" is the location. We didn't expect much, due to the reasonably god price and pictures on the booking site, however the true experience was not great. Thee room itself was small, with a tiny bathroom. The shower-hose was broken so we could't shower. When we alerted this in the reception they told us that they could fix it the next day, and they had no other room for us. After nagging a while I managed to get the guy behind the desk to change the hose to a new one. The AC was only allowed to be used during winter time, not to cool down the room, and the fan in the sealing had to be switched off by cutting the power to the room (not a joke!) since the remote control only could start the fan. When we told this to the reception, he just told us…
Very Good Location, Private Room with en-suite bathroom. Very clean rooms with window. Hostal on First floor without an elevator is a minus point, especially if you are travelling with big luggage. Overall a very good experience.
It was really nice hostal, the receptionist was very friendly and nice with a lot of tips. It was in the center of Madrid so everything is in a walking distance and near by there are very nice restaurants too. The room was very nice and clean.
We stayed one night in November. Cold outside but room was comfortable. The hotel is one floor of an old building, you reach it by climbing one set of stairs - I don't know if there is a luggage elevator. The hotel is secure - there is a street door key and then a key to the front door of the hotel and then your room key. Everything was clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful with directions and recommendations. Our room (15) was a comfort double with two twin beds together and looked out on a small courtyard, there was a safe in the room but we couldn't get it to work.. This hotel is probably not for those who prefer a more traditional hotel.
My boyfriend and I spent here few days while visiting Madrid and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is well located and clean. Our room was nice (although the bathroom was quite small) and the staff was super friendly. There is an automatic hot beverage dispenser that works with coins and other free coffee/tea facilities in the common area. We booked a double room but we have been given a twin one (minor, we squeezed in a single bed with no complaints) but we soon realised this was a very thoughtful action. While booking online we didn't notice it is a gay friendly hotel so they probably thought we were just friends that's why we found two beds. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to our friends. It was just a shame that the pub in front of the…
hostal was very comfortable. staff was helpful and went beyond to help you get to were you needed. very quite area love the location. we had no problem getting around by foot. the staff and also the owner very friendly. place is good to rest and sleep. only thing don't expect roomy showers like in the united states showers are kinda narrow. but all in all great experience. clean and safe. hope to be back soon.
A shocking bad experience. Arrived to check in to be 'greeted' by a shockingly hostile, rude, surely, unwelcoming young man. Demand for my passport was accompanied by an inpatient click of his fingers. Whole check-in experience was so terrible I decided not to stay there - and they still charged me for three nights. Complained and they never even replied. Don't give them your business - one of my worst hotel experiences ever.
Clean, comfortable, near the city center, friendly service. The first day we had a problem with the key solved with a phone call. It includes a microwave and coffee machine for breakfast as well as crockery
The welcome was warm, we managed to muddle through with a a lack of Spanish language, efficient check in. Very clean room, presented with Ikea furniture and towels. VERY cosy shower cube, which I could expect some would not be happy about...if it wasn't for the shower tub to hold the shower gel...once it was put down it would have been a challenge to stay in the shower to pick it up without a mishap with the tap ;-) Great location, just a short walk from Gran Via and Noviciado Metro (5 euros from the airport). complimentary water in the room and coffee only 1euro from the communal, lounge area. Free wi-fi is a bonus ..definately recommended
The Hostal is conveniently located. All rooms have attached toilet and shower and is as good as a Hotel. Next street to Gran Via and central Madrid is best for short stay. However, the absence of lift and carrying of luggage to the first floor is minus point.
