This Hotel was beautiful my room was amazing. I had a terrace the bed linen white as snow. The shower big and powerful. I recommend this hotel you wont be disappointed. Patricia and her colleagues couldn't do enough for me Great girls and I had my 2 pets with me. I cant wait to go back. Right in the centre of tarragona my room overlooked the market square . Thank you Hotel urbis .
The pictures in the website have simply nothing to do with reality. We found an outdated hotel, with mold on the bathtub and the occasional cockroach. The cherry on the cake was getting trapped in the lift the last day, and realising that the alarm system that was supposed to connect us to the 24h service line did not work.
I stay at the B&B Hotels chain across Italy and France frequently due to it offering super-fast wifi and overall freshness, high levels of maintenance, functionality and efficiency. The chain has recently started raising prices significantly after being acquired by Goldman Sachs, which is a bit of a disappointment. However this particular hotel is the biggest disappointment not only among all B&B Hotels but Spanish hotels in general. 1. The hotel must be a recent acquisition as the B&B chain branding is absent. It’s a B&B Hotel only on online booking engines. The rooms in reality looks much worse than pictures presented online - so different that it appears to be another hotel altogether. It is grossly dishonest to claim B&B Hotels quality and charge 2x for the name alone. Repair works 10 hours/day Mon-Fri and 6 hours/day Sat-Sun. 2. Shakira/Adele playing in the lobby. I never repeat-stay at hotels that play street music since they clearly misjudge who their customer is, what they prefer and what they can afford. Lobby music should not serve self-expression and entertainment of the receptionist. 3. Everything is worn (especially the carpets), all furniture and appliances are random and do not fit together and have been piecemeal updated over the last 40 years or so. Yellowed telephones, IKEA desk paired with restaurant chair, that kind of thing. Old shower. Loud fan. 20-year-old plastic ceiling, somehow reglued together. 4. Wifi does not function at all (the password the hotel gives guests appears to be “incorrect”). TV remote needs work (you need to point it pretty exactly and press the buttons with considerable effort). No foreign channels on TV. Whistling builders and such in the lobby. 5. On the plus side, coffee is free 24/7, including an occasional apple or mini muffin. The location is good. Overall, if you’re used to Asian, American or eastern European quality and service standards - avoid.…
We were set to spend 2 nights here. We had a deluxe room (rm 705). The first thing we noticed was that the layout of the room was quite strange with frosted glass walls looking into toilet so you could be seen while using the loo and bathtub in the bedroom with no shower curtain. Still, the balcony was large and you could just about see the sea. The biggest problem was the air conditioning which was on but faulty and was not cooling down the room. The hotel staff tried to get it working and then a technician was called who said there was nothing he could do that day. The receptionist then insisted he knew better than the technician and he could fix it. Finally he admitted defeat, declared that it was broken and brought a fan. The room just got hotter while he called the director who authorised a refund as there were no spare rooms. We later noticed that the room was back on Booking.com even though there was no aircon. …
We came here after Barcelona and stayed for two nights in the ‘atic’ room on level 7. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but it looked busy both nights. Overall, service was great and room was beautiful. Definitely recommend and would come back in the future. Image is view from our room!
