My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Las Almenas for seven nights in September 2019. We were visiting friends in a small town outside of Granada. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our first accommodation in Granada fell though. Luckily we found the Hotel Las Almenas and its manager Jose. After explaining our state of affairs, he said he could accommodate us. We got a double room on the third floor with a view of the baroque Basilica de Nuestra Senora de las Angustias across the street. Our room was clean and comfortable. Although the street noise was quite loud with the windows open, once closed the room was quiet. We were very satisfied. The hotel is located on Acera del Darro Street near the city center. It is within walking distance of major tourist attractions, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and shops. Jose, wife, and son were helpful and friendly during our stay. They provided information regarding sites to see and helped make travel arrangements to the Alhambra. (If not for their diligence, we wouldn’t have gotten tickets at all!) Their English was much better than our long-forgotten high school Spanish. By the end of our stay, we felt like members of the family and were sad to leave. To sum it up, we would highly recommend the Hotel Las Almenas, in Granada, Spain. Its friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and central city location make it a perfect place to call home while exploring Granada.…
Clean, attractive boutique hotel with very friendly service. not much for amenities but all close. Restaurants and bars withing easy walking distance Quite enjoyed our room and the people. I would recommend your staying.
This is a budget hotel (for Granada) with rooms that are well above the average. Marble floors and bathrooms that wouldn’t be amiss in much more expensive hotels. Situated in the central part of town, about 20 minutes walk from the historical area and 30 minutes from the Alhambra. 24 hour parking is available close by at a cost of 16 euro per day. Minus points - no kettle in the room and surly young man on the reception (his father was much nicer)
The check in was super easy and had some trouble with the remote but the owner was very helpful and even spoke in french for me. Very clean, organized and amazing for the price. I would definitely come back.
1. Dishonest. I was given a room where the lights didn’t work. When I politely requested a room change, the front desk person (owner’s son?) became visibly upset and said the hotel was full. After saying I’d like a refund, he gave me another room. 2. Likely running some kind of fraud ring. The same employee insisted that he keep my passport until I checked out and said it was the norm of Spain. When I pointed out Barcelona, Madrid and Malaga never did such a thing, he cursed under his breath in Spanish and rudely threw the passport on the front desk. 3. Overcharging. I had already paid through a booking app, but he insisted I pay again. When I refused, he told me to leave and called me a very vulgar name in English. I happily left but not before being terrified of this hotel and their staff. PLEASE ENJOY YOUR TIME IN GRANADA AND AVOID THIS HELL HOLE.…
