Regarding your comments, I inform you that the Parador has implemented an stric preventives measures against Covid19. Before the pandemic situation our buffet breakfast was the most valued service by our customers, but at his moment we can only offer a selection of cold dishes buffet with a hot dishes cart, respecting the restrictions of the Spanish law. About our FREE small car park, I inform you the special location of the Parador in an area declared a World Heritage Site 25 years ago, requires the respect the original layout and the surroundings of ruins, such a "Abencerrajes Palace" or the beginning of "Generalife Gardens", both of them besides ou car park. We stayed here for 3 nights in early August as part of our tour of Andalusia. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was 210 , which as it was close to the lift was prone to noise from people passing by. We opted for the half-board package, and dinner was excellent on all 3 nights. Very helpful staff, who were very patient with my attempts at speaking Spanish. The only downside was that on our first evening someone on a table nearby was smoking whilst other diners were eating. I would hope in the future that the Parador group ban smoking completely in outdoor restaurant areas. Great stay, looking forward to returning.

Regarding your coment about smoking outdoor, at this moment has been forbidden in our restaurant terrace and in the rest of outdoor areas, unless the smoker guarantees a distance of 2m from other visitors. The entire Covid experience was well catered for, masks and sanitiser with a friendly twinkle of the eye, Diego sorted us with an incredible tour, the room upgrade was well worth the extra and our request to not do the room during our 3 day stay was well appreciated. Thank you for making it a very special experience.

The Granada Parador hotel is located within the grounds of the Alhambra Palace and is a former palace and later a convent. We were extremely lucky to get a reservation here, as usually rooms are fully reserved many months ahead, but with the Covid-19 situation and less tourists coming to Spain there was space available. We had a standard double room and we were very impressed how well Parador have converted this former convent into a hotel with modern facilities, whilst retaining the historical charm of the building. The room was not very large but it had a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was perfect – walk-in shower, double washbasin, toilet and bidet. There was also a safe, coffee and tea making facilities and a minibar. The reception staff were extremely friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. There is also complimentary parking available at the side of the hotel, but we did find that taxis provided the easiest way to get into the city centre (reception called them and they arrived within minutes). Throughout the hotel there were ample dispensers of hand gel (including in the lifts) and the hotel has adjusted really well to the Covid-19 situation. At breakfast, guests are given their individual plate and bamboo tongs to select food items like bread, ham, meats, cheese. There was a good selection of quality items available. Other things like juices (including freshly-squeezed orange juice), fruit etc were available in individual containers. Hot items were available on request from the waiters and delivered promptly to the table. Breakfast can be taken indoors or on the terrace outside with views to the Generalife and Granada. All tables and seats are disinfected between guests. So there is zero risk of contamination. Very impressed. The waiting staff are doing an excellent job dealing with the extra work resulting from Covid-19 precautions and still managed to be very friendly and approachable despite the pressures. In the evening for the bar/cafeteria or restaurant the terrace is very charming with the sound of flamenco coming from shows in the Generalife opposite. We would happily return to the Granada Parador, but we would expect to need to have reserved well in advance.…

Set within the gardens of the Alhambra Palace complex itself, this Parador is excellently located. The Parador gardens themselves were excellently maintained to the standard of the rest of the Palace. The Paradors outside terrace restaurant was particularly good, both situation and food! Considering the pressures of Covid at this time, the staff were excellent and still maintained the high standard of service expected to be enjoyed at any Parador.
