A wonderful hotel in the heart of the old Albaicin quarter of Granada. Head up the hill for complementary tapas from local bars during the day and late evening. Also thanks to the staff for remaining calm and reassuring during the lead up to the Spanish state of alert. Best of luck.
We stayed in march 2020 in the Hotel Casa Morisco. It has got a very old but nice patio. The Hotel is located underneath the Alhambra in Albycin and near several caves, where flamenco shows are performed. The vieuw to the Alhambra was, especially in the evening because of the lighting, breath taking ! The reason for traveling to Granada was, to attend a Flamenco show in one of the caves in Sacromonte, which were only a 15 minutes walk away. We found that the prices for a single room with 100 € and a double room with 135 € without breakfast, well over average. Nevertheless the personal was very kind and helpfull!
We decided to come on holiday 12 hours before our flight departed so it’s fair to say we did no research. In fact, I jumped on Tripadvisor and booked the hotel which was highest rated offering free parking within our price range. We were not disappointed. Casa Morisca is a beautiful riad style hotel nestled in the historic city centre and overlooking the Alhambra. It’s not the easiest to get to by car as the streets are narrow and you have to get permission to drive to the pedestrian only centre. However, once you are there you will have no need to use the car again as everything is within easy (hilly) walking distance, including the Alhambra, Sacromonte, Albayzín, Flamenco shows, restaurants and bars. The rooms aren’t particularly big however they are perfect of you plan on enjoying the city. The bed was enormous and the pillows the best I’ve had in any hotel. Good shower and everything was clean. The only reason I’m knocking a star off is the fact the room was a little too warm for comfort. It seems like they can either have heating on or air con on and as it is still winter it’s still in heating mode. We opened the windows and doors to help cool the room down which made it bearable but we did have quite a sweaty nights sleep. I would still however return as everything else was spot on and I know for next time to leave the windows open whilst we are out and about!…
Lovely, peaceful historic property ideally located near the Alhambra and other sights yet also convenient for great shopping in the city centre. Very clean room (4) with bath, v comfortable superking double bed and small balcony with view of Alhambra. Friendly, helpful staff. A delight.
A small hotel in a very tastefully converted morisca house with its internal courtyard. Everything feels right. Our comfortable room 4 on the first floor had a very small balcony overlooking the quiet cul de sac street. The location at the foot of the Albaicin area is very convenient for walking up to the Alhambra complex on one side of the valley and exploring the steep cobbled streets of the old Moorish area on the other side. Do be prepared for quite a steep haul in both directions. Otherwise follow the valley bottom for a range of bars and restaurants. Finding the hotel by car could have been stressful but the excellent directions, complete with photos, provided by the management made it straightforward – provided you don’t mind sharing ever narrower streets with strolling pedestrians.…
