Daniel on reception who greeted us was very nice and knowledgeable, thanks. Our room was light, clean and airy. The waiter at breakfast was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be coming back again.
Could not physically get to hotel due to no fly restrictions in Australia. Hotel refused to refund money where other hotels refunded as they understood and sympathised with their customers. I would never go to this hotel.
Stayed in one the the apartments at the back of the hotel, had a lovely view of the plaza! Everyday you could hear and see hundreds of birds flocking to the trees, such a lovely experience! Great location, shops all down the street, the catherdral is right round the corner and there are plenty of restaurants in the square and nearby plus convienience stores. The apartment itself was beautiful!
We stayed here over the New Year period for a week in room 209. Although the hotel isn't 4* by UK standards the room was very comfortable and clean, with a large comfy bed. One down-side to the bed was the terrible pillows (a common theme in a number of hotels we've stayed in). Other than that, it was good. We overlooked the square and had no problems with exterior noise. There's plenty of hanging space (though not much drawer space) and a safe and refrigerator. The bathroom was large with a decent shower. We experience a few bad smells coming from the drains (food smells from lower floors) on a couple of occasions. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast (on the one occasion we took it) was plentiful and a good selection of items.
Excellent. Location, service, room, breakfast. Brief frisson of fear as we checked in when the phrase 'attic room' was used but turns out this meant we had the only (large, comfortable, well-appointed) room on the fifth floor. Room tip. Ask for 501.
