Honestly one of the nicest hotel rooms I've stayed in. The room was huge, beautifully decorated, and right on the main square (though perfectly quiet). A perfect location for the Christmas markets (or for just being in Dresden for sightseeing). We walked everywhere. We did not partake in breakfast but I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

I have stayed in several hotels, and there's always something to criticize. But surprisingly I have nothing to say about Townhouse Dresden. I have stay from Mon to Thursday and was very happy with the service and accommodation. I stayed in the Classic room, which is very large and comfortable compared to other classic rooms. I slept well, without any noise from the streets, and can't express how happy I was with the breakfast. In general, a nice hotel, very well located, with fine rooms, and a good breafkast. I would definitely return to this hotel whenever I need to come to Dresden.

Overall, an ok stay. The location is perfect; members of staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. From my point of view, 25 Euro for breakfast are fair considering the ample self-service area and the additional options to order egg etc. which are included. My only problem was that there was a very considerable smell coming from all sewers (shower, bidet, sink) in my bathroom. To be fair, they immediately sent someone up after my complaint, but housekeeping could not do much beyond spraying air freshener. The hotel also offered another room but I since I had unpacked everything before noticing and since I was not about to spend a lot of time in the bathroom anyway I declined. Though this is certainly a fundamental drainage issue, the hotel really tried hard to remedy the problem.

Let's start with the plusses then the minuses. On the plus side the location is perfect, directly in the main square and next to the famous Frauenkirche church. I like the fact the hotel offered free bike hire and a guest lounge with free coffee. On the minus side I was surprised a hotel that claims to be International has 50+ tv channels but not one of them in English (compare that with our next German hotel which offered BBC1/2, ITV1/2/3/4, C4 plus USA stations etc. Also there were no blackout curtains in the room and no kettle/drinks. You could get a drink in the guest lounge but not before 10am Breakfast was an eye watering 25 euro per person per day but there were ample places in the square offering hearty breakfasts for half that price. The hotel advertised a rooftop bar but this was simply a bar on the top floor. No views. Just a tiny balcony with no real views. Overall the hotel was nice, but really felt the TV, blackout curtains and room drinks were disappointing.

In the centre of the historic town, an elegant, beautiful hotel. A most comfortable stay, in a deluxe room, with a view to the Christmas Market. Breakfast was very good. Nice and cozy hotel, will return.

We stayed here in the last week of December and we were pleasantly surprised by Dresden as a whole - such a beautiful city. The hotel is lovely - the rooms are well sized, the bed extremely comfortable and the bathroom is very large with both a shower and a bath. The hotel is in a prime location to the major site seeing activities and shopping complexes so walking everywhere is very easy to do and completely safe. The front of house staff are wonderful - communicating was easy as everyone speaks English fluently and they were so willing to help with anything (even bringing up a kettle for us as there wasn’t one in the room). It is our honeymoon so the bed was beautiful decorated with roses and some swan towel art - such a beautiful and well appreciated gesture - thank you to the team for making us feel so special! The Wi-Fi is fast and doesn’t have connection issues which is a plus when traveling. It’s in a great location in terms of restaurants so we were spoilt for choice and ease of access to options to eat at. We also got to enjoy the last of the Christmas markets which was also nice. Overall, completely worth staying here and is great value for money.

Amazing staff at reception! Gorgeous room, newly renovated, cool room design and the shower is to die for! (Mattress quite firm, but we prefer a harder mattress.) Breakfast was fantastic - enjoyed the hybrid buffet / a la carte model which for me addresses the problem of warm buffet food getting cold and surely helps to avoid food waste (Note, have a light dinner the night before if you have the breakfast!) A special word of thanks to the reservation and / or housekeeping staff for the wedding anniversary decor - it made our arrival so special!! One improvement would have been a kettle / nespresso machine. We would definitely return if we return to Dresden!

This hotel is a good choice for a stay in Dresden. Centrally located, nice rooms, cozy ambiance, high level of service from the reception and the digital concierge. Downside is the somewhat uncomfortable beds (very hard madrasses), the absence of international tv channels (every hotel should open up for bring-your-own-streaming-services with built-in Chromecast or AppleTV), and the ultra-expensive parking (EUR 25 /night). The breakfast concept is not working. Food quality is good, but you must order eggs etc from a waiter who barely understands english. Why not go with a buffet experience and forget about the attempted premium experience? Its not working. But all in all I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed one night for a brief 24-hour trip to Dresden from Berlin. The hotel is a perfect location, right on Neumarkt and most of the tourist attractions. The square has many restaurants of various cuisines to try as well, and all seem well regarded on Google reviews and the like. I had a deluxe room and found it very spacious. I particularly appreciated the view and enjoyed the fluffy pillows and duvet (higher quality than most hotels in Germany). The only minor issues I had with it is that they still haven’t re-instated the mini bar and in-room coffee machines. I’m not sure why. They are not a Covid danger anymore than touching shared utensils and such at breakfast are. An empty refrigerator and no coffee (not even instant) is sub-par. My room also had an odd smell — hard to describe but kind of like when you walk in someone’s house and it smells like them. The carpet was also highly worn and stained and should be replaced. Given I was staying only one night, I didn’t complain to the staff about these concerns. That all said, I really did enjoy my stay and the staff. The breakfast really is amazing with quite a selection at the buffet plus a menu of prepared to order items such as eggs Benedict.
