I spent three weeks in April at Magic Oceans resort, the first week solo and the second two as part of a larger dive group. All three weeks were amazing! This is a dive resort, but it is also so much more that non-divers would enjoy a holiday here too. First of all, the resort itself is simply beautiful. The resort itself is very well designed to promote a sense of tranquility, and the landscaping is superb. Ever aspect of the resort is clean and well maintained. The guest cabanas are all free-standing, so you have no noise from adjacent rooms. They are very nicely appointed, all with their own private veranda. Some cabanas surround the pool, and others are more secluded, in the gardens and closer to the ocean terraces - all have excellent views. The pool is quite large, for a…
I have just spent a week at Magic Oceans Dive Resort and can honestly say I’ve had an amazing time and sad to be leaving. From the time of arrival the service and staff have been amazing. The rooms are detached bungalows, large, clean and all quiet. The beds are super comfortable and the shower is huge. The air con is fantastic and all have excellent Wi-fi. The staff are superb, they all remember your name and the food was great. They managed to cater for all food requirements ie vegan, vegetarian etc. The variety was immense and service perfect. The dive school was also fantastic. Huge setup very organised and once again clean. The boats were fab and the boat crew couldn’t do enough for you. My guide for the week was Leanne, she was faultless, her knowledge of the…
A resort experience with a personal touch. The rooms (bungalows) are very comfortable yet the design manages to maintain its connection with the surrounding atmosphere and environment. I travelled alone, and was surprised to find everyone there knows my name. The staff (who were always smiling) helped everyone integrate with other guests and soon we all got to know each other and new friendships were made. Planning: as soon as I arrived I found that a detailed plan was made for me to maximise the use of my time. All in all, this is one of the very rare occasions where an establishment exceeded my exceptions, and it really isn't about providing expensive fancy facilities, but mainly about the attention to detail, personal connection and the sense that EVERYONE (from the resort…
Just returned from Magic Oceans where we spent a fantastic week diving every day in a combination of boat dives and house reef dives. The resort has been designed and built to be perfect for divers. I can't recall a better equipped dive centre complete with so many rinse tanks for each part of your dive kit; showers, area for dive briefing, personal area for storing your kit and large posters of all manner of marine life so you can identify what you've seen on a dive. Just a few steps away from the house reef and the boats as well. There is a review on this site that says that the diving is expensive in comparison to others in the Philippines. Well - what you get is impeccable service. The boats (three of them), are spacious and really comfortable with lots of shade if…
My wife and I felt well looked after at Magic Oceans. The resort is stunning: beautiful landscaping, pool and bungalows, the garden flowers pretty and dive centre well planned. The diving was not spectacular but it was good overall. There is a new jetty under construction to enable easier access to the dive boat. The boat was comfortable but not as well configured as others we've been on. No individual box to stow kit in making it more difficult to check kit pre-dive, ensure all is on the boat before departure and finally to leave kit in when between the dives. Food choice at the resort was good and set evening 3 course meals were very nice. The restaurant did however lack attention to detail on occasions, lost in translation possibly (e.g. daily overcooked eggs, …
Just come back from a week at magic Oceans and absolutely loved it. The bungalow was fabulous, the site was immaculate with the grounds, pool and beach cleaned daily. But most of all the Staff were just fantastic. Diving was varied and we'll run, the dive boats were spacious, clean and in great condition. The dive centre was spacious with an area for each diver and their kit. Plenty of room to get ready and big dunk tanks for when you come back. All in all a great site and we had a great weeks diving. I would recommend this to anyone at any level of diving.
We stayed in both the Magic resorts during the course of a three week holiday and both were superb. The diving was fantastic (certainly better than the weather). The dive team are great and the staff at both resorts could not do more for you. Both resorts are small and fairly remote so you spend a lot of time there, very relaxing. The boats are great and the diving is superb.
Right from the moment we stepped off the plane, the staff at Magic took over starting with the driver organized to pick us up who even stopped for us to buy some beer on the way. Once we arrived at the resort the staff were all very friendly and attentive to our needs. Our stay was absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious and always plenty to go around, if you didn't like anything the staff would go out of their way to change things around to suit your needs. The dive center was professionally run and the local guides are all dive masters who are friendly and knowledgeable and their ability to find some of the most amazing sea life and small creatures is excellent. We booked a dive with the Whale sharks which is well worth a visit. The whole resort is clean and well kept.…
Just returned from a week's stay at this wonderful resort. I loved everything about it. We have stayed at the Atlantis resorts in Dumaguete and Puerto Galera, and Magic Oceans is by far superior in every aspect. The diving was absolutely gorgeous. The dive boat we were on that wasn't in dry dock was extremely well suited for divers. Probably one of the best dive boats I've been on. Very spacious and very comfortable with all the amenities you would need. Only thing missing on it was a fresh water rinse of some kind. Unless you used drinking water out of the water jug, you had to stay salty & sticky. No biggie, but would be nice to rinse off between dives. The boat would go out for 2 morning dives, come back for lunch, and then out again for a mid-afternoon dive. Night…
I have visited Bohol and dived with all the dive sites around Panglao and nearby islands and this time around, me and my friends decided to venture out of our playground and visited Anda for my birthday dive. Anda is 2 hours away from Tagbilaran city and I tell you, the dive sites have so many hidden gems waiting for you. We had 3 dives and only in Anda that I've seen handful varieties of nudibranches, it seems to be a haven of these so called butterflies of the sea. I think I saw more than 10 ghost pipe fish in a day too and wow 3 pygmy seahorses all residing on one sea fan, how amazing is that and there's much more! We all received top notch service from Magic Ocean. Eef, the resort's general manager and Jessica who manages the dive shop were both very accomodating in…
