If you are looking for a laid-back, relaxing and scenic get-away, this place in Anda is a good alternative to any resorts in Panglao. If they could make the rooms more plush, this could pass as a luxury resort. But its main attractions are the infinity pools, cliffs, rock formations and a freshwater cave with beautiful stalactities and stalagmites.

Stayed here as a couple, together with a pair of married friends.

First time to visit Anda, and in this resort. When we got here, the resort is not 100% operational. Construction is still on-going around the area, though this didn't really bother us. The place is somewhat secluded. Need to drive a bit in a dirt road, away from the highway, though there are signs along the way to get here.

The room is large, even the bathroom. Bed is soft and bedsheets are really clean. They can provide additional towel, just ask from one of the staff. The room has this big glass door where when you open, just a couple of steps, is the infinity pool. Since there were few people that time, we had the pool to our own.

If you prefer to swim in the sea, you can find the stairs leading down the shore.

Once in a while I saw people around. I believe they were just checking the area and the nice view. The place is somehow elevated from the shore, and they put up this "viewing area" on top of a large rock/cliff formation for viewers to check the shoreline.

Our booking included free breakfast. Come dinner, initially, we planned to go around town to look for food, but were already too tired late in the afternoon after swimming. So we asked one of the staff if they serve dinner. To our delight, he asked if we had specific dish in mind, and that they can cook it for us. Best part is, he asked us if we wanted a candle lit dinner, on top of the viewing deck/area! What a treat! They placed a small table (check out one of the photo), for the 4 of us. I forgot what we had for dinner but it was the mango shake that I really enjoyed a lot.

This place is best for couples and for relaxation.

I will definitely come back.

The first thing you need to remember about Anda is that it is a two hour drive from the main ferry and airport at Tagbilaran. The ferry took two hours and cost us 800pp per person return from Cebu - plus 100pp per checked in bag and 25pp port fee at Cebu and another 15pp fee at Tagliraban. We didn't try the hotel's offer of a pick up service so I can't comment on that, but there are plenty of drivers waiting at the ferry port. The drivers' 'standard' rate card price is around 3500pp, but we quickly negotiated a 2500pp ride (tip - don't try this with the first ones, go for the guys closer to the back). If you've ever driven along Pacific Coast Highway 1 in California this journey is a mini version of that, with great views of the sea all the way. Chances are your driver won't know where the resort is though, so once you fork right onto the Anda road look out after about a mile on your right for a sign to East Coast White Sand. If you are staying for more than a few days remember there are no shops of any note within walking distance - so stock up on cigarettes. This is a small resort made for the simple pleasures in life...white sandy beaches, clear blue seas, birdsong, sunrises, and sunsets. If you're looking for anything more try elsewhere - but if that's what you are seeking you've found it here. For sun seekers the southerly aspect is perfect. The six smaller rooms all look out over the larger of two pools, beyond which is the ocean. Inside, the beds are firmly comfortable with good pillows and a single top sheet - all you need in this climate of course. There's a good clean bathroom with an electric shower in a solid glass corner enclosure. TV is provided with 20 or so channels and the aircon is efficient. There's no fridge, but you'll get a kettle and coffee sachets which are replaced daily by friendly and courteous room staff who take pride in their work when cleaning. Breakfast is simple but wholesome. The dinner menu selection is decent enough (they take orders around 4.30pm for the evening) but don't be surprised if some options aren't available - my wife isn't a meat eater so when all the seafood was off one night she was stuck with pasta in a tomato sauce which tasted suspiciously like ketchup. I loved the Korean beef on my first night, but having tried it again two nights later it seems quality can be variable. Price-wise for food and drinks we stayed three nights, ate well, made good use of the beer fridge in the restaurant, and had a bill at the end of just 3300pp. To see the sights we booked ourselves on the 4.20pm ferry to return to Cebu and rented a car and driver from Bohol Car Rentals. This cost us 3500pp (cheaper than the resort could do) and after an 11am pick up we took the road to the chocolate hills and tarsiers and from there back to Tagbilaran. The rate was for a full day though, so if you want to get away earlier you could see and do a lot more. A great stay overall, despite the weather not being too kind to us on one day of the trip.

We stayed in the hotel in the middle of the march. The resort is absolutely amazing. The breathtaking views over the ocean, clean pools and jacuzzi and private white sand beach were just the begining of our perfect holiday. The resort also has its own cave - and it is also possible to swimm in it!

Absolutely will come back and recomand to everybody.

Went to East Coast last August 11, 2012 to celebrate my mom's post birthday and my cousins pre-birthday celebration. We are around 13 including our driver.
East coast entrance is 100php but if you wanted to take a deep in the pool you need to pay another 100php so a total of 200php to use all it's amenities aw not all because you cant use the Jacuzzi, only inhouse guest can use it .

What I love about East Coast:
The space is so wide and unlike other beaches in Anda. The place is also serene and the pool is aesthetically good to look at. DO not worry if it has a little shore line because next to east coast is a public white sand beach so you can just be there if the east coast beach get;s too crowded.

We order our food at east coast which cost around 100-300php per dish and it is also delicious. just make sure to order it ahead of time when your not yet hungry because it takes them a lot of time to cook the food.

I dont also know if they have corkage fee but that time they did not ask a corkage for the cake and the tequilas we brought.

The attendants at east coast are courteous and cheerful so expect a warm welcome from them.

Things to improve on:
-Faster in cooking the food.

Even if the place is nice it has no attention for details and that is evident staying in it. But the staff is the worst part of the bad evaluation. Even if the booking had been done month before they couldn't arrange our stay good enough to let us stay in the same room for 5 nights. They were even rude and showed no effort when asked basic things. The restaurant was even worse with the staff doing nothing to give an acceptable service. Finally it is always noisy since the early morning. Do not go to this resort!

Let’s start off with the positives. The pools and beaches are awesome as well as the walkways around the cliffs, great for picture taking. I rarely saw any other guests around. The staff is very friendly. The Family Room has an amazing 180 degree view with large balcony. My wife’s family was excited to see some professional basketball players at the resort. Breakfast was ok. Price was reasonable.

Now for the things that will drive foreigners nuts. Attention to detail. Our toilet cover was covered in mold. This should have been changed years ago (see picture). In room safe missing the key (“sorry sir the guest took the key”). Shower head clogged. Garbage left on the ground outside never picked up. No Wi-Fi in the room. AC weak. The restaurant was the most frustrating. No ice so only beer to drink which was ok for me but my wife wanted a cocktail. The bar is right next to the pool but the server never come out and take your order. You need to order in advance for dinner otherwise it will take forever or most likely out of stock. Sorry no squid, no crab, no ice cream, no halo halo. Other reviews rave about the food but I didn’t see how they were so satisfied. Maybe something changed recently. You need your own transportation or you are stuck. Pretty boring if you are not a couple, family group or scuba diver.

Overview: reserve family room, have your own transportation so you can eat outside, bring your own Wi-Fi, then paradise.

As far as location .. it would be hard to beat the view!
Anda is so beautiful & the sea is gorgeous, in front of the hotel you can swim safely ... for most of the time it is sandy bottom with a few isolated areas of coral. There is a coral reef a little swim out & divers can be seen here, if snorkelling from the shore you should use fins as the surface current can change quickly.
East coast resort rooms are basic & clean - there are around 11 rooms, some are family rooms - ours faced the bottom pool ( there are 3 pools ) there is a small terrace with a drying rack.
A room tip - select the room at the end and then people don't walk pass your terrace and look into the bedroom.

We hired a moped 500 peso a day from reception which was great - getting around is crucial to get a feel for the area & the friendly people who live here.
Be aware that the road down to the resort is in a right rocky mess due to recent bad weather - perhaps this may improve by the time you read this...
Breakfast was included... & once we described exactly what we wanted the breakfast was brilliant. Fried eggs, brown toast, fresh fruit and coffee served in their restaurant overlooking the 3rd pool.

Inside the room the linen & towels smelt lovely.
A big minus for us was that it had no fridge & the internet ...... well that never really happened.... don't expect any connection....but again the weather could be the issue ... we just could have been very unlucky.

We dived in the area and can recommend Blue Star ( see separate review )

Enjoy!

Location
What I love?
- The resort is accessible via public transportation. It's a 2-3 hours land trip from Tagbilaran airport (~20 mins tricycle + ~2.5 hours van/bus ride). One way fare costs around Php175 per person. But if you have extra money to spend and you want more comfortable ride to reach the resort, they offer a private car transfer, it's Php 2000 per way (good for 4 people).
- We had a very relaxing stay. If you hate crowded beach then this resort is perfect for you. It has two mini private white sand beach you'll surely love.
What to improve?
- They should offer cheaper private transfer I guess?

Room
What I love?
- You'll get more than what you paid for! For only Php3000/night, a standard room already comes with a pool+sea view, you'll have a hard time deciding whether to stay in your room for the rest of the afternoon or go out to explore other part of the resort. For its price, it's quite spacious, it can definitely accommodate up to 3 persons.
What to improve?
- The resort should regularly check if the room facilities are still working properly. In our case, we couldn't use the key to open the sliding door, so we had to use the back door everytime we need to go out. Both heater and bathroom light were not working in our first day. The light was fixed immediately after we reported it. Unfortunately, we had to wait for the next day for our heater to be repaired, so we had no choice but to use cold water for our first bath in the resort.

Amenities
What I love?
- They have 3 infinity pools! One pool even has jacuzzi on it. I know that I already mentioned that they have a mini private beach, but it's so lovely, It's worth mentioning again. They also have several hammocks if you just want to spend your lazy afternoon doing nothing while listening to the sound of waves. What I also love about this resort is that they have a dedicated massage area and it's also facing the sea! It was a very relaxing experience, for only Php350 per hour.
What to improve?
- Kinda hard to suggest one since I'm really satisfied on the amenities of this resort.

Food
What I love?
- Every item listed on their menu comes in big serving.
- It's a great dining experience to eat your meal while facing the sea. (The staff told me that the current restaurant location was just temporary, and the actual restaurant is currently under construction. I hope the actual restaurant will have the ambience similar to the temporary restaurant. )
What to improve?
- They should give more breakfast choices. Currently, they only have 6 breakfast options (3 pancake meals, 3 rice meals).
- Aside from local beer, they should also have cocktails.

Service
What I love?
- Every staff was accommodating.
What to improve?
- It will be helpful to have an intercom in the room.
- Try not to wake up the guest from an afternoon sleep just to ask what they will have for dinner.

This hotel, with it's bungalows is realy nice in many ways.
Overall our impressions are, after a week, the following:
- Well prepared foodwith reasonable variations
- Nice and clean white beaches, small but nice
- Rental of kayak
- Clean rooms
- Very nice pools, several. All of them with a magical paradise view
(New pool with bar is being built now. Guess finished for summer 2017)
- Snorkling

...and the not so great parts:
- long trip (from Tagbilaran over 90 min)
- tennis court is old and in bad condition
- some wooden railings and planks need to be replaced along the shore/view points
- if (as during or stay) there is a wedding ceremony the whole restaurant area and 50% of beaches are shut down for private use. Not great. We felt we lost a day.
Ask if there is a wedding planned.
- WiFi is terrible and often shut down and needs a restart of router

We paid 2500 PHP one way from Tagbilaran airport with a nice, new Ford pickup and a very nice driver. He will also assist if you have other needs for transport.

Overall - very nice place, but need som love and care from the owner, very soon
