We are a relaxing, tropical, beachfront resort located on the quiet "divers and lovers" side of Bohol Island. We are located in the friendly Municipality of Anda. There are several daily flights from Manila to Bohol and fast ferries from Cebu. We can arrange a car to meet you at the new International Airport or the ferry terminal. With only 11 Suites and Cabanas, and a private beach, it is never crowded. All rooms face the sea and are close to the beach. We also have an on-site Scuba-Diving centre and an International Restaurant. Our neighbours are local people, mostly fishermen and farmers. Most of our guests are couples, or friends travelling together, expatriates relaxing, professionals recharging, and an occasional Hemingway staying to work on a novel. Many are divers, but all enjoy the sea, or at least being close to it, as well as the lush tropical surroundings. Guests are unanimous in praising the tranquillity and beauty of the resort and the friendliness of our staff.

A superb place to stay, ready well set up and so laid back. The resort is about 2hrs 30mins by car from panglao/tagbilaran and easy to get to. Its sits in a quiet place a kilometer off the main road, so no disturbing noises around. It has a small sandy beach leading to into an area of calm water with a series of sea grass and small corals. They have kayaks to use to paddle out a bit further to the deeper water and coral. At the edge of the reef we saw lots of turtles swimming around and surfacing for air.
We had a classic room which was super spacious and airy. Everything was working well and the staff were really helpful. To pick out one observation, whilst people were out in the kayaks they kept a watch over the beach area to make sure everything was OK and even kept a bit of an overview of the children.
The restaurant had a nice range if dishes. Local, international and Asian. They had a great Cambodian curry, with authentic content. And the atmosphere innthe restaurant area was so open, calm and pleasant. The kitchen team had some good veggie options but was also happy to adjust a couple of the meat dishes to make them veggie friendly; can't ask for more than that.
They gave us a good deal on the rooms when tied to the diving.
All in all, when taken together, one of the best value and most pleasant places we have stayed in 10 years in the Philippines and would be very happy to go back.

We didn't want to stay in Alona or Panglao and decided to explore a different (MORE CALM AND RELAXING) part of Bohol by motorbike. It took us around 2.5 hours to get there from the airport.

I can recommend this place to everyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The resort is really great: Comfortable room, perfect beach with clear water, nice pool, very friendly and accommodating staff, delicious food and surprisingly a great wine selection! We would have loved to stay longer but were limited in time. Don't miss out on taking the Kayak (free of charge) late afternoon and explore the nearby beaches, looking at the sun setting from the Kayak while floating in the calm waters along Anda is fantastic!

Thanks again Peter for welcoming us, you have a little paradise there and we will definitely be back one day!

One word... "magical". This resort is worthy of being on your bucket list!

Where to begin... The resort grounds are impeccable and you'll find unique and inspiring features; trails through gardens, four story lookout tower, and cave that goes all the way to the sea!

Food is "foodie quality", we ate every dinner there and loved it.

Service is outstanding, and very personable.

I highly recommend this beautiful resort in Anda Bohol. The bungalows are very spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated, - the extra shower on the private terrace in the back is perfect for after swimming! The restaurant serves a large choice of very good food so that you don’t have to leave the resort if you want to! The large pool is perfect for swimming or just dipping and has an area for the little ones. The seaside is beautiful and diving wonderful if you wish to see wild and preserved sea life. The staff is very helpful and very nice. Finally you can do many activities such as canoeing, climbing at the top of the tower to have a great view point on the surroundings and even play pétanque! We had a great stay and will be back!

It’s not difficult to see why the reviews are so exceptional here. Peter, the owner, has done a truly outstanding job creating a relaxing paradise. Time stands still in this cosy part of the world.

Where do I even begin with the positives. Endless praise. The food, the beach, the rooms, everything was to the standard we were expecting. If you come to this hotel expective ultra modern 5* English standards then you will be dissapointed. If you want large clean tidy rooms with views that can’t really be beaten then look no further. All emenities in the room worked nicely during our stay and the bed linen was nice and dry. NOTHING worse than damp bedding in tropical countries.

Food is top notch here. I highly recommend the Crustacean Crepes or Seafood Delights. They are to die for. If my partner and I could think of any criticism for this hotel in any way it would be the wait time for food was quite long sometimes. BUT you don’t mind waiting when it’s as tasty as this was. When it’s all freshly cooked it is justrified but we would recommend bringing a deck of cards to keep you busy while you wait :)

Overall Peter Steph and I loved our stay and we really can’t wait to return, bless you and your wife for creating such a paradise.

Chris and Steph x

Ps. Keep the humour and western music. It’s wonderful

Our family of four arrived in Island View Beachfront Hotel late in the evening, exhausted and hungry. But we are impressed by the same “warm welcome” we had by the staff, as the early birds. When we got to our room, our luggages were already neatly arranged in our room m.. Our room really has a beautiful spa/ resort feel, with a true ocean view! High ceiling, big and tall windows, spacious bathrooms, relaxing front porch (which is canopied with tropical ivy, roots cascading).

We love all the room features because it is thoughtfully furnished for serenity, and relaxation purposes. Quiet surroundings. Just so beautiful.

Their restaurant, The Plantation has gorgeous views and VERY DELICIOUS food! I must say, “Food, well-cooked, takes time” and worth every bite! . . Even our friends who are staying at a different hotel would come to our hotel almost every meal,
Just to eat the food in this restaurant, The Plantation. J

The staff are very warm, kind and friendly and gives you a loving feeling of being home.

The owner, meets and greets you every evening at the restaurant. Making sure everything is not just alright but, excellent. He is very warm.

At the end of our stay, check out process was very smooth and easy. And Peter came to send us off. Which overall, made me and my family feel that we had been invited to stay at his beautiful rest house, his beautiful home! .. We love our experience here in this hotel in Anda, Bohol. We will be back again in our next visit to Philippines.

Wonderful place far away from turistic center of Bohol. I spent here 10 amazing days. It is small hotel with just 8 nice and large rooms. Resort is located just in front of sandy beach on the coral reef. Very good staff. Peter owner, Archie and their team are really helpful. Big infinity pool and big garden available for the guests. I also have to say that resort offers very good a la carte restaurant with wide range of food ( we tried a lot and everything was delicious). Also wine selection is very good :- ). If you would like to learn scuba diving it is very good opportunity because on the place is scuba diving center ( I tried, amazing).
To summarize, If you are looking for not crowded, quiet place, close to nature and additionally with good food, wine and nice jazz music it is the only choice :- )

The place is amazing, it offers all commodities a resort can offer combined with a big wild garden, including a view tower and caves.
As a family with 2 young kids we enjoy the hospitality and all around services like special food, entrainments for kids…
The food in the restaurants is very delicious and it offers a huge variety of dishes from continental to Philippines.
We booked a budget room for us with view to the sea, which was perfect for us. Huge king size bed with a complementary individual bed.
The installations are in good shape and it is very clean.
We can strongly recommend the place to everyone that ones to have an exclusive stay in Philippines with all comforts and a resoanable price.

Anda beach resort Bohol (Oceanview Cabana)
My wife and I stayed at this resort for 5 days in Oct.
Our intention was to dive each day but unfortunately due to ill health we didn’t dive or snorkel . The resort has an on-site dive shop and all diving is done from a small boat. The dive sites are within 15 mins, so the boat goes out and then returns for the surface interval. There is a reef out the front of the resort but it is a bit too far to swim out to.

We had a beach front cabin and the ocean views were stunning. The rooms are nicely appointed.

The gardens and surrounds are beautiful, and interesting to stroll around - they even have a scenic lookout tower! Kayaks are provided free of charge which is a nice touch.

The open air restaurant is really well set out and it has a Spanish feel to it with coastal views.
Both the food and service were excellent. My wife is vegetarian and they have lots of options available and will make things to order on request.

This is one of the few places that we felt we could return to again, especially because we missed out on the diving. The service at the resort is outstanding with the staff making you feel so very welcome and special.

Hi Kath. November is one of those times that the sea can be a bit moody, but there will be days when it it is calm and clear for fine snorkelling. We have 5 clown fish colonies within metres of the beach and a very fine reef with wonderful corals. Turtles abound. If you are not a strong swimmer you can take a kayak along with you. You can always find me on our facebook page - islandview.anda - Best wishes. Peter

Apologies for the delay in responding, I have just discovered your question on TripAdvisor. However, if you are thinking of staying with us in the future, I can offer the following information: We have both Standard and Deluxe rooms. The rooms allow for two adults and one child, or two infants, if the existing bedding is used. The Deluxe Suites do have an additional Sofa-Bed. Children in excess of this will be require an extra bed for which there will be a reasonable charge. For six of you, I would recommend that you take three rooms, preferably the Deluxe Suites as these have a very large bathroom and a number of additional features. We do not include breakfast with internet bookings as peoples breakfast requirements vary so much. Room prices vary according to season and increase during a number of peak times. You can check the prices at any time through TripAdvisor or Agoda. We can arrange transport for transfers to the airport, the ferry terminal, and for general touring. We are right on a beautiful beach, perfect for just relaxing or for snorkeling and beach-combing. We also have a large (20m) pool in a tropical garden setting. We are located in Anda, which is the quiet and beautiful end of Bohol. The area is not focused on nightlife. People come here to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural and cultural environment. Those who want crowds and up-beat nightlife should go to Panglao on the western tip of Bohol. There are places to eat in the local town and most of the resorts serve meals to non-guests. At Island View we have a wide-range of local, Asian, and international dishes. Meals and snacks can be served in our upstairs restaurant or at the Aninipot (fire-fly) beach-side Bar. In the evenings we play recorded jazz music in the Bar. There is no karaoke and no techno music at the resort, although these can be found in Anda township. Lots of "must do" activities: If you only have two days I suggest you give one day to enjoying the water in the way you best enjoy (swimming, snorkeling, or we can arrange a diving expedition) and the second day we can arrange a tour to see the famous Chocolate Hills and a visit to the Tarsier (Bohol's tiny bug-eyed primate) Sanctuary, or you could just visit the local town and some of the close-by cultural sites. If by "scooter" you mean jet-ski, no, we really don't like them because of the damage they do to the environment, but if you mean motor-cycle, yes we can arrange rental, although with only two days you are not leaving much time to do what is most popular here - relax by the sea. Hope this helps.

The resort is about 98km from Tagbilaran which is the provincial capital and where the ferry terminal and airport are located. There is a beautiful coastal road to Anda where the resort is. The journey takes less than two hours and cost around 2,500 Pesos for a chauffeur driven car and maybe 3,500 Pesos for a large van. Public transport is also available but is slower and suitable for people who enjoy adrenaline surges. If you arrive early in Tagbilaran, you could consider taking the interior road and visiting all the "must see" sights (Tarsier Sanctuary and Chocolate Hills) along the way. It is a much longer trip but will only cost a little more, and will leave you more time to relax upon arrival. Ways to contact the resort can usually be found by doing an internet search for Island View Beachfront Resort.

Dear Heidi, I am sorry I took so long to find your question. Typhoons occur every year in the Philippines, In the central Philippines these mostly occur during the second half, and especially the last quarter, of the calendar year. It is unusual for Bohol to suffer directly from severe typhoons as they tend to strike the central or northern provinces and then travel in a north-westerly direction. However, air and sea traffic can be disrupted. The large typhoon in November 2013 (Yolanda) stuck the island of Leyte to the north of Bohol where there was terrible damage and loss of life. Bohol was relatively unscathed, although some lives were lost. Anda township was not severely damaged. Most of Bohol receives power from Leyte and the transmission lines were damaged. This caused a black-out for many weeks. Since then there have been a number of lesser typhoons impacting on Bohol, but damage has been limited. I hope you made your planned trip and were not adversely affected by the aftermath of Yolanda.
