As I am fortunate not to suffer from such an allergy, I would not have taken much notice of the carpets. Our room was carpeted and the walls were also padded with fabric, but I did not notice any mustiness. We had a large French window opening on to a quiet street so it would be possible to get plenty of fresh air if the weather is reasonably warm.
