the room was not big but there was everything:
The coffee machine with pods in the room was very helpful.
The wall tv is big.
the street and 'located in a strategic area, near supermarkets to many shops and bistros, a local Point of Sale and Metro stops, but especially the street where' placed the hotel and' internal and' absolutely quiet and safe, even to return late at night.
the reception staff and 'really very kind and helpful towards customers and their needs, and I must say that they are also nice.
The breakfast had food for all tastes, vegetarian, and not, allergic and not, and still very good crepes, croissants, juices and hard-boiled eggs. The room where you can have breakfast on the ground floor and 'large and bright.
They have just done some work (I had been there in May) that have improved and are improving the stay from all points of view.
For those who want to visit Paris staying out all day, but at the same time not spend too much and stay in a well-connected area, and 'a more than valid situation.
Where to even start.
We arrived too early for check-in, but was going to leave our bags as they said they hold luggage. Upon arrival we were directed to a corner of the dining room and told to leave luggage there where everyone else was. We were then told to come back at 2pm, or 3pm or maybe even 4pm and see if the room would be ready.
We came back after 3ish and waited for an hour while they sorted out an issue with the customer before us, no worries, and then served two people who entered after us, not even acknowleging that I was standing there.
When we finally got the room key we went up the tiny elevator, barely big enough for two, and couldn't open the door. The door handle was half hanging out and the key was temperamental, either getting stuck in the lock or not being able to get it out of the lock.
The room was tiny, glad it was only an overnight, with mismatched furniture, a phone that didn't work and broken and cracked plugs that we were too scared to use. No radio or clock, no USB charger, room was incredibly out of date. There were holes in the skirting boards around the bottom of the walls and in the cornices on the roof. The walls were so thin that we could hear every conversation and bang from the couple with the toddler in the room next door. The doors needed to be slammed to be closed so everytime they left, or anyone else did, you could hear it.
The bathroom door didn't close properly and the soap dispenser for the shower was on the other side of the room so you had to use if before even hopping in. Toilet roll holder on an awkward angle to access.
The ONLY good thing was the large window which was nice, but filthy. Opened into a busy and noisy street with people revving cars up and down and carrying on all night. We checkout incredibly early, we didn't want to be there a second longer than we needed to.
I would say stay literally anywhere else. I have stayed at many hotels across the world, and this was by far the worst. I'd leave zero stars if I could.
Our room was 8 meters², the bathroom was old-fashioned with shower curtains and no soundproofing. The tourist tax displayed behind the door of our room and at the reception indicates 14.95 per day and per person!!! Except it's the same tax as for a palace (I checked). I panicked when I saw 14.95x2 x5 days! i.e. 150 euros tourist tax. The receptionist told me that it was not a mistake, that it was the price! Fortunately I had booked online on the CAMPANILE website and that I had already paid everything (tax at a normal rate) but it disturbed me throughout my stay.
Apart from these surprises (hotel different from the Campaniles and free tourist tax) it was very clean and the breakfasts were correct. The location is really ideal, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
It's a simple, old hotel. The rooms are not big but they are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very basic but functional. Decent breakfast. Very friendly and attentive staff.
After everything I had read I was scared but I had a very good stay.
The only fault is the sound insulation between the rooms. I put in earplugs and slept like a baby.
Great location.
"You really need to ask at the reception for any assistance you need and they will try to help you.Otherwise what is offered is very basic"Read full review
