A group of us booked out Acorn lodge for a long weekend to celebrate a friends wedding and we cannot recommend the place enough. Everything was perfect down to the lovely welcome basket waiting for us on arrival. The rooms were just as described and the kitchen had everything we needed to cater for ourselves. The location itself is also perfect for strolling into Harrogate to explore or for dinner meaning we didn’t have to drive all weekend! I’ve been asked by the group if we can go back every year…which I think says it all!
We stayed at Acorn Lodge for our 1st family holiday in 2 years. There were 13 of us and having the whole house to ourselves was great. Facilities and space at the house were perfect and its only a very short walk into Harrogate where there are some great bars, restaurants and shops. During our stay we visited lots of lovely places including Knaresborough. Would 100% recommend for any large groups.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Harrogate, tucked away you’ll find the lovely B&B, Acorn Lodge, ran by Ali and her husband Phil. I stayed during COVID-19, Ali and Phil ensure that Acorn Lodge meets and adheres to all COVID requirements, ensuring a safe stay for all. My friend and I stayed in room 4, a twin room. The room was bigger than most hotel twin rooms, included a shower en-suite, tea and coffee facilities, a TV, free Wi-Fi and a lovely view overlooking the street. As the Lodge is located at the end of a residential street, there is no noise at all, perfect for a good night sleep. Upon arrival you select your options for Breakfast, plenty of options available, catering for all tastes. They were able to cater for my Coeliac with no problem at all. It’s an easy drive to Acorn Lodge and very easy to locate. Free parking is provided for the duration of your stay, a small carpark for up to 4 cars is attached with more parking available on the street out front. Once at Acorn Lodge, it’s about a 5-10 minute walk into town. I highly recommend a stay at Acorn Lodge, I for one will definitely be back During my stay I had a meal at Gino D’Acampo My Restaurant Harrogate. I highly recommend a meal there, the food is unbelievable…
Stayed here for 1 night during a Yorkshire roadtrip. Great location within walking distance of the town centre. Clean and spacious room. Delicious breakfast and friendly hosts. Ideal place to stay for a visit to Harrogate.
Lovely place to stay for a weekend, very comfortable, clean and well-equipped and the owners were welcoming and full of useful advice. We had a very enjoyable weekend, and would recommend Acorn Lodge as a great place for a family gathering.
Having emerged from lockdown we decided to take a short break to our favourite Yorkshire destination, Harrogate, and our favourite B and B, Acorn Lodge. We have been coming here for quite a few years now for the Crime Writers’ Festival, but of course this has been cancelled this year. But we decided to come anyway and we’re really glad we did. As usual there was a warm welcome from Philip and Alison the owners who had made sure the property meets all the requirements regarding Covid 19 and keeping guests safe . Acorn Lodge is ideally located in a quiet tree-lined road [parking available] a few minutes walk from the town centre. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. Most of Harrogate’s highly recommended bars and restaurants were open and we were spoilt for choice. We took trips to nearby Ripon and Knaresborough – both well worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay [it felt safe but really normal again after the last four months] and have already booked for next year!…
Perfect house for a family gathering, we were 13 adults gathered from near and far to celebrate a much loved Grandpa. Situated at the top of a quiet tree lined cup de sac in easy walking distance of the centre of Harrogate. Well equipped kitchen, large dining room and table seating all of us, sitting room and 7 comfortable, light and airy bedrooms with en suite facilities. Phil and Ali were very helpful and a pleasure to meet at the end of our stay.
My sister and I stayed here for two nights and it was exactly what we needed. Acorn Lodge is tucked away in the corner of a gorgeous street (Mary Poppins style is how we described it). It’s so quiet and yet so close to everything. We stayed in a twin room on the top floor and the room was really clean and comfortable with plenty of tea and coffee supplies. Alison and Phil were lovely and were able to recommend places to for food etc (the welcome book helped with that too). We didn’t book any breakfast so can’t comment on the food but everything else was spot on. Thanks for a lovely stay :)
There were a great many things we liked about this place, which we chose for my wife's birthday trip on our first visit to Harrogate. The location was excellent- tucked away on a leafy street, but actually only minutes from the main attractions. The room was comfortable and the jacuzzi bath was amazing, such a treat. The owner was polite and kind- he put up some Birthday decorations in the room, which was a nice touch. There were only two things I would have improved, one minor, one major. The minor is the the room was a bit small. The bathroom was enormous, if I could have had a bit less bathroom and a bit more bedroom it would have solved it! The more major one is that the walls seemed quite thin. Sometimes guests coming to bed late would keep us awake or if someone used the toilet next door, the flush sounded like it was coming from our room. Perhaps it is not something that can be solved, but if there was some sort of extra sound dampening that could be added to the rooms it would make a real difference. Aside from that, loved it, loved Harrogate and thanks for a very nice stay.…
Just a walk up the hill from convention centre. Run by Phil and Ali a friendly and helpful couple. Though I had an attic room (double as single) it had a very spacious bathroom with shower over bath and a jacuzzi. This was my third visit to this B & B
