Stayed here as part of a golf trip with guys. Steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi after golf was perfect. Hospitality by Noel Ryan was “best in class” from my experience at five star hotels globally. Highly recommend this place!
My stay at Ballygarry is one of my best hotel experiences ever. Everything from the time I made my reservation until I departed the hotel was an A+ experience. I originally booked my stay for 12 during the early stages of the COVID pandemic which resulted in multiple changes to my original booking. In every instance the staff professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful in accommodating the changes to my booking. Even in the end, when one of the people in my party had to cancel at the last minute due to COVID, I was charged for only a single versus a double room although I cancelled only a few days before check-in. In every other way, my stay was a great experience from the time I checked until our departure. Although we were a large group, we were checked in quickly and efficiently. The manager on duty made us feel immediately welcome as did the front desk staff, We had dinner in the Brasserie, one of the in-house restaurants, where the service was efficient and the food was very good. There is a fairly intimate bar area if you want to grab a quick bite or have a drink or two. Breakfast in the elegant main dining room is a full Irish breakfast (or less if you prefer) where the staff was attentive and efficient without being hurried. The rooms were well appointed, spacious, and very comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and manicured. The public areas are very comfortable and spotless. It's a mid-size hotel, but has the feel of elegant B&B. On our last morning we had an early 7am departure and the manager on duty arranged for the dining room to open early for our group so that we could have a full hot breakfast before departing. Additionally, the staff happily stored our bags (we were on a golf trip with a lot of gear) so that we did not have to rush and load our luggage before our early morning round. They equally happily helped get it all loaded onto our bus after our round despite having to move all our gear for 11 to storage from the lobby where we had left it prior to our round and back from storage again. While everything was excellent, the best part of my stay was my interaction with the staff. Without exception every interaction was a positive experience. Need transportation - no problem. Need a restaurant reservation for 11 - of course we can help with that. Need a special room accommodation - consider it done. Need to store luggage for 11 - just drop your bags in the lobby and we will take care of the rest. - And always with a smile. I felt like the Ballygarry was happy to have me as a guest and fully committed to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and Ballygarry certainly is a model others would do well to emulate. It's not often that you see this level of service from top to bottom and clearly it was not just a coincidence. Hats off to management team and the Ballygarry staff for creating a awesome experience. Special thanks to Chloe and Elaine for going above and beyond. I would not hesitate to stay at Ballygarry again and neither should you if you are staying in the Tralee area,.…
This is an absolute gem that turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Ireland. Because of a busy schedule, we had only planned to stay a single night but loved the place so much we shifted things around to do a second night. The staff are fabulous and the concierge super helpful and friendly. We used the complimentary bikes to do a ride through Ballyseedy Wood and can highly recommend the outing. Breakfasts are great and rooms have everything you need. Beds are very comfy and bathrooms are spacious. The hotel is exquisitely looked after and on a magnificent and substantial estate. Will definely be back the next time we are in Tralee.
It’s been a few years since our last stay here and this great hotel has managed to improve significantly. The walks in the expanded estate were fantastic and suitable for all ages, bikes ,prams or wheelchairs. I enjoyed the walk most in the early morning where I heard the dawn chorus, saw lots of rabbits and the beautiful wildflower meadows and beehives. Padraig has planted 29000 trees as part of his substantial ecological drive The Ballygarry suite was beautiful and we loved the small but perfect spa The new wedding chapel was a lovely surprise, so fresh and romantic Staff remain outstanding, everyone chatty and great ambassadors for Kerry My husband arrived with a migraine but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the extremely comfortable bed ,made a rapid recovery and really enjoyed the hotel and the food Bacon and egg brioche at breakfast was the food highlight but also loved the prawn tacos ar dinner We will be back!,…
Ballygarry is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. From the minute yoy arrive to the minute you leave, you are treated with the highest respect and care. Noel is a fantastic member of the Ballygarry team. He treated us like old friends and made us feel so welcome. Matthew and Jake are two other members of staff that stood out to us. Two lovely young men that were so diligent in their work and a pleasure to talk to throughout our evening. The food is incredible at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The grounds are stunning, you could walk around them all day and not get bored! I would highly recommend this hotel!
My husband and I stayed at Ballygarry House Hotel on 08/06/22. I cannot say how amazing our stay really was. It is an absolutely fabulous hotel, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, super comfy rooms and the food is out of this world. Great veggie options, the curry is beautiful (would love a chickpea option as well as just veg. but still top notch) and great creative veggie breakfast options. I had the chickpea scramble which was lovely! We both booked spa packages, it was so relaxing and well worth it. My spa therapist Shauna was so friendly and professional. It was the perfect most relaxing day! The thermal area is lovely with a nice hot tub outside. The grounds at Ballygarry are great for walking and we were also able to borrow bikes to cycle in the woods at no extra cost. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially couples. I loved how quiet it was at night and had such a comfortable room. I really hope we can go back again maybe next year.…
Just can't say enough good things about Ballygarry Hotel & Spa ! If you're looking for comfortable, elegant room accommodations, superb service, warm & charming staff, family run, gorgeous grounds & views, authentic Irish experience, fabulous food - this is the place. From the moment we arrived, we were so well taken of. My husband, daughter & I stayed for several nights to visit with family in Castleisland & Tralee, and to lay to rest my mother's cremated remains. Pádraig McGilicuddy, the owner, met with us & personally arranged for a seamlessly planned & executed funeral luncheon for a couple of dozen family members. Likewise, throughout our stay we had very comfortable space for family in the bar or reception area. Grounds are just gorgeous - perfect location for a wedding. Rooms have all the modern conveniences & comforts without sacrificing charm. Easy access to Tralee, and good location if you're doing day trips to surrounding countryside such as Dingle, Inch, Killarney, Ring of Kerry, Gap of Dunloe. It's quite clear that from the general manager to reception to wait staff to housekeeping & kitchen staff - everyone is very well trained & takes pride in doing the very best job with a pleasant demeanor. How refreshing !! Attention to detail is unparalleled. There's something about a family owned establishment that clearly is loyal to its staff which makes a difference. Keep up the excellent work! Looking forward to returning next year!…
Full service was provided to us upon our arrival (May 2022). Noel (concierge and all-around GREAT guy) met us at our car, carried our bags to our room, AND found us an adapter so I could use my U.S. blow dryer. They even contacted us quickly after we checked out to let us know we had left a coat in our room and held it for us at the front desk. Room was perfect with lots of space. Restaurant on site was superb! Manager of the restaurant AND Noel came to check on us again to make sure everything was great. Not a cheap hotel by any means but so worth the $$!!! The grounds are incredibly beautiful. We stayed here to attend an on-site wedding receptioni and it was superb!
We have just left a wonderful few nights at The Ballygarry Hotel. The stay was once again faultless. The Ballygarry is a very very special place, and will always be to us. This time I proposed to my partner at the hotel and I am so great full to all the staff for making it so incredibly special, but in particular special thanks to Niall, Shauna, Liz, Chloe and Ellen. From the spa, to the rooms, to the food, the hotel is outstanding and you are welcomed to feel like part of the family. I am already planning our next return for my birthday in October
We spent a night here to celebrate my wife's birthday recently. We had 3 rooms in total and found the standered was very high in all 3. I use a wheelchair and had a wheelchair accessible room and found it very good and spacious. The bathroom in this room was the most accessible I've been in. All 6 of is found the staff most helpful and courteous. The concierge Noel was a character and extremely funny. He seemed to be everywhere in the hotel if you needed to speak to staff. We were so impressed by our expernce that we booked again for later in the year before we checked out.
