Close to the town of Killarney was a nice place to rest our heads after a long day of traveling. Pub one block away with excellent food.

We were getting married in Killarney town and had a lot of family members coming from overseas that we had to book accommodation for. When we found this place, we initially selected it because of its location and price. When we arrived we were so happy with our decision. The cottages are modern, kept very clean, fully stocked. The mattresses on the beds were super comfortable. The area is very quaint. We actually couldn't believe we got such a great deal! The standard is well above what you could expect. And please give a shout out to your cleaners! They are obviously doing their job very well.

Rotten accommodation, very dirty, cold, overgrown with weeds outside, shoddy furnishings and a rude an obnoxious "manager", who coincidentally cannot communicate via email at all.

Disgraceful excuse for a "holiday cottage" and in all my years travelling this is perhaps the worst Western property I have encountered.

Shut it down!

We enjoyed our stay . Lovely location and surroundings but the couple that run it are the most rudest people iv ever met.. they had no manners . Had no problem swearing at us and accused us of breaking the wii fi box off the wall when we already brought it to there attention wen we arrived .the man raised his voice swearing at us and pulled my phone charger out of the wall and threw it across the room . He sat outside the door waiting for us to leave .. would love to speak to the owners to put in a formal complaint

Well we booked this place way back in June time this year for a stay last week [Sept 15] and like others read the reviews before booking with both good and bad and took the reviews with a pinch of salt as you do, as the location appeared good, the price was cheap in reality, and theres an on-site pub come restaurant too, so not much cooking. Fantastic, or so it seemed.
Just before arriving my partner re-checked the more recent reviews again mixed, but with more than the usual share of bad reviews, and even when reading some of the good reviews they make note of the poor lighting, sparse, ripped furnishings, old CRT TV's etc, making us more than a bit anxious, anyway upon arrival about 2pm we found the place very easily, well sign posted on entering Killarney from the north,

We went to the booking office thinking we might be able to check in a bit early given the long drive we'd just had, but even though someone was there is was locked up tighter than a drum with a sign saying check in 4pm-6pm only! So the local pub it was, to wait until 4pm, so we had lunch whilst waiting, which was alright, even had a roast dinner, great, anyway whilst waiting we decided we wanted to look at our deluxe cottage before we parted with any more cash, as we booked this through their own website which takes you straight to Booking dot com, and had already paid £130- up front, so we waited and we waited and then decided to go look through some of the cottages windows opposite the pub and the ones down towards the burnt out pair, not knowing which were deluxe and which were not as they all looked the same inside and I've got to admit they didn't look much through the windows, the old tvs, old tired looking furniture etc, as mentioned by others and many of the cottages had some really life expired thatching making them look even more run down and dismal, and at the same making us even more anxious and worried.

Anyway we saw some bloke playing with a dog behind the booking in cottage so we approached him, and in broken English he told us they'll be same as photos don't worry and off he went in a small van. Well if you look at the TA page there's only one photoshopped picture and one of a boat or something, and that should have been our first clue many, many months earlier, even on the direct website there's only a handful of photos and boy did we scrutinise them while we were eating!

Well as soon as the doors opened at 4pm we got the keys from the lady managing the booking in process and went for a look at our 'Deluxe' 4-star cottage, it was located at the end of the cul-de-sac to the left-hand side no.30 something, well it unfortunately was like many others had described, worn, tired, in need of painting, power cable strung across the floor in front of the threshold step, opened the door and on closer inspection minor damages and marks everywhere walls, floors, doors etc, tiny kitchen, stupidly tiny fridge, one of those half size things and for 8-people? Impossible, that wouldn't even hold the weeks beer & wine supplies!

Both the leather couch's had rips/ tears in them and looked well worn, just like others had noted, odd that! The bathrooms again well worn, dirty, scruffy, old fashioned, past there sell by date and they didn't smell none too nice either, they felt very grubby and looked like they hadn't been updated in many years, the beds had no mattress protectors, yuk, old worn mattresses and head frames, we gave it a good once over and took pictures just in-case we had to argue the toss about our deposit, look closely at the online pictures- old western woody wood headboards etc....all very old and really not like the pictures portray at all, if the pictures haven't been photoshopped then they were taken a long, long time ago. And this was the so called 'Deluxe' model!

Be Warned, if you want one step up from a Hostel or a tent, or are not really fussed, the price is right, and on the bright side theres plenty to do and see outside, so you wont have to spend any time here.... bar sleeping, make sure you come and go in the dark, and as the lightings not much, quote un-quote other reviewers, then you wont have to look at all the things wrong with this place. Shocking.

In all it looks like no money has been invested in these properties for many, many years, and they all appear dishevelled, nowhere near as pleasant as they appear on the web pages. And I actually feel sorry for the mangers as 'you cant polish a t..d' so to speak! Bad doesn't go far enough!

When we went to take the keys back the lady seemed to understand totally without us saying much at all, which we both thought really odd, it suggested to us that she's heard many, many times before and unless they do something [maybe burn the rest down] they're going to hear it time and time again, I'm sure. Fair play to her, there was no quibble whatsoever regarding refunding of our deposit, it did however leave us in a bad place and at well gone 4pm to try and find somewhere else for our large party, we ended up at the Mucross Park Hotel & Spa, admittedly the one night cost as much as the whole week at this place [had to book 3-rooms], but like the old adage 'You get what you pay for' and this place is real proof of that.

Do yourself a favour and think very, very hard indeed before parting with any hard earned here

In the end there was no way on earth were we going to stay here

We stayed in 3 cottages in June of this year. I have never been so disappointed. We have stayed here before and they were fine. It is a great location. But they have let the cottages go done terribly. All three cottages were of poor standard. For example in the cottage I stayed in the couch was ripped and worn badly. It was very uncomfortable to sit in. In the other cottages the curtains were ripped, door handles hanging off, bin lids broken, locks to bathroom broke, large crack in the glass in the washing machine, fridge door had no compartment for cartons. I could go on but I'm just so annoyed. We paid 600€ per cottage and they are supposed to be 4 star. APPALLING. NEVER AGAIN.

The couple who run this place are the most rude people I have ever come across. When we booked two 3 bedroom houses they could not have been nicer, but when we arrived they were not helpful at all.
Anything we asked for was a massive problem, like extra towels, which you have to pay extra for, seems to me like they are very lazy people and just dont want to be bothered.
There are dogs barking outside your window very early every morning.
The pillows are like sleeping on a pancake!
Duvet covers were moth eaten.
The matresses are filthy..I'm glad I didnt notice until the last day of our stay.
Your not allowed to sit at your picnic table witch is right ouside your back door and have a few drinks after 10pm. We were told very rudely to drink inside the house, we were not at all noisey as we had 5 young kids which were sleeping and if we were loud we would have woken them.
On our last night we were very rudely reminded of the check out time.
Its an awful shame because it could be a very nice place if it were run by nice people.

Poor welcome. Unhelpful staff. No interest in any complaints. Felt we were upsetting their day. Burnt down house on way in. Shocking
The staff: the woman working there is super friendly; however, her (assumed) husband is super rude. Their hours are not accommodating (only 2 hours in the afternoon). So, I tried to call them with a question so as not to bother them, there was no answer. I went down the street to have my urgent question answered and the man was extremely rude and short. Only pointing out the correct hours, asking me when I called because he "always answers the phone", then when I told him it was five minutes earlier he said that it was outside their office hours. Such a joke...what happened to customer service? My advice is to not stay here, pick a place closer to town that's more welcoming to it's guests and isn't a creepy cottage.

Worst nights sleep ever. Badly need to replace the beds. We are ment to be on a deluxe 4 star cottage and bedlinen has stains on it also stains on mirror. Leather couches like sitting on pile wood. Would not recommend to any one. Badly need to invest some money in the cottages
