The location is great. Easy for us to find parking on site everyday. Staff was nice. Walking to many shops and restaurants. Great place to stay if doing Ring of Kerry. Rooms were clean and comfortable, although decor somewhat dated. Would for sure stay here again if in Killarney.
As people here say the hotel is a bit dated, but after staying a few days you really get immersed in the old world charm. At least that was my experience. This isn't your modern hotel with trendy gray and greige décor and all the latest style trends, but rather a hotel with charming mansion feel with impeccable service. From the moment you are greeted at the front desk until the very last minute of your stay you are well taken care of. The front lobby is beautifully appointed. Just to the left is a very authentic Irish pub. We ate here one evening and the food was very good. The rooms are a little dated, but very clean and lots of toiletries provided. Two things that I didn't like, but was common to all the Ireland hotels we stayed at, the mattresses are very firm and the step into the bath tub was very high. I can see this being a big problem for older guests, but again, we found this to be common to all the hotels we stayed in Ireland. The hotel location is optimal. We arrived by train and rolled our bags about 5 minutes to get to the hotel. Very convenient for us. A 5 minute walk into town and you come to the 1st corner of main street where the travel center is. Here you can arrange bus tours for Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Cliffs of Moher. All great tours one not better than the other! And if you do the "Ring of Kerry tour you have to see the dog herding show, with Boarder Collies rounding up the sheep. These little dogs and their trainer were the highlight of our 10 day Ireland trip! Bricin restaurant is the place to get the best Irish Boxty in town! And we went to O'Donoghues and Murphy's for great Irish Pub music. All walking distance. One final note, Killarney Avenue Hotel and Killarney Towers are sister hotels. Being a guest of Killarney Avenue hotel opens you to Killarney towers amenities including the spa and pool. Happy travels!!…
Stayed here one night and it was excellent. It is right in the center of town and everything is within walking distance. We had a third floor room that overlooked the center. I really enjoyed that the window opened and we could get fresh air. The room was clean and spacious. Ate in the pub on main floor and found it to be a great atmosphere as well as a good meal. Would stay here again.
Very nice hotel with a great show... CELTIC ROOTS.... the hotel is in the middle of town... jaunty cart rides are across the street... the National park is mearby too Food is great, nice accomodation. The Celtic Roots show was outstanding... sort of a mini RIVERDANCE... great Irish music.
My sister and I stayed in the hotel for one night. The rooms were very clean with comfortable beds! The location of the hotel is ideal, very close to the town centre. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Ella on reception who was so helpful throughout our trip! She even ran up to our room to drop us up a toothbrush as I had forgotten mine, even though I had offered to go down! Thank you very much Ella.
We checked in for a 2 night mini break and throughly enjoyed our stay. The staff there are professional, friendly and are the Hotels best asset. From the Receptionist who went out of her way to find me a parking space to the Restaurant and Bar staff, and the lovely lady in housekeeping we met this morning, each and everyone of them are are a credit to the Hotel. The weather wasn’t great for our stay so we ate in the hotel both nights. Both nights were excellent. I would recommend this hotel 100%
We had my daughters communion meal in the Killarney Avenue Hotel and I could not recommend enough. The food was outstanding there was not one bad course throughout the meal it was absolutely superb. The setting in the Druids restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. I really cannot say enough about the staff they are so welcoming and cannot do enough for you. We had a wonderful experience at the hotel and will definitely be back again in the future.
We have been to the Killarney Avenue hotel several times for food & drinks, & we are always happy with the food & the service. The staff are always very helpful & attentive & friendly & the food is great. A couple of staff members that stand out are Marina, Alison & the lady with the short blonde hair & glasses. Alison always remembers us & greets us which we really appreciate. Lovely atmosphere in the bar area. We will be back again soon!
Having just stayed in the Killarney Avenue hotel I had to leave a review. We stayed for a family wedding that was held in another hotel. The Avenue staff are by far the most welcoming and friendly bunch I have ever met. From the minute we arrived they were chatty, friendly and ready to help with whatever we needed. Would 100% recommend staying here and I will definitely be staying again.
Lovely hotel withjust a short walk to the town (400 metres). Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Rooms were great. Breakfast was big and tasty. Ate out the 2 days we were here but if the breakfast was anything to go by id say dinner here would be lovely. Highly recommended
