The Old Weir Lodge in Killarney is THE place to stay , it is spotlessly clean and spacious. The ladies on reception and in the breakfast room so friendly and helpful, nothing to much trouble. The beds are so comfortable (we both slept like logs) , I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and when we go back to Ireland this will be our place to stay , so thank you all for making our holiday great, and thank you Maureen for the recipes.

The lodge was so wonderful beginning with the front desk. We added a third day because we loved Killarney and wanted to see more. Although our room was not available for that third night, the staff moved our bags into the new room while we were out for the day. The family room we had at first was well-appointed, clean, and very large. The bathroom had a wonderful lighted LED mirror which was great. The second room we had was perfect for us as a couple. Again the size was larger than normal and well-appointed. They even provided us with an adapter we needed. The breakfast staff was very friendly and the food was great. The location was perfect for walking to town and being more quiet. Finally, there was ample parking, a salon with a bar for drinks, and a nice, quiet living-room with business area. Very nice place to enjoy Killarney!…

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Weir lodge this weekend (12/05-14/05/23). With regards the lodge itself, it is a beautiful place to stay, and I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit Killarney. The location is perfect and is within a few minutes’ walk to Killarney town. The rooms were clean and the beds extremely comfortable. For me the highlight and the reason I will be visiting the Old Weir lodge the next time I am in Killarney is due to how friendly, helpful, and accommodating the staff at the Old Weir Lodge were. I was to travel here with family: my brother and parents. We had booked a family size room for our stay. We were there to do the Killarney half marathon run and for my dad’s 70th birthday. My parents unfortunately could not travel with us as my mam is unwell and wasn’t fit for travel at this point. I called the hotel two days in advance to see if we could downsize our room to a smaller room for 2 people, as parents were not going to travel now. I got to talk to Linda on the phone and she was very friendly and understanding of our situation. She said she would see what she could do and phone me back. She phoned back to say that we would be able to get a twin room and to cancel our initial booking. This was very last minute, and a very busy weekend in Killarney, so we were delighted that this accommodation was made for us, and that we didn’t incur a charge. The friendliness and accommodation of staff did not finish there. We were due to start the race at 8am the following morning. Breakfast starts at 8am. We needed to leave earlier. Linda had organised for us to have two carry out breakfast bags made, and they would be ready at 7am in reception for us. This was extremely helpful as we would have needed to get some food into us before doing the half marathon. I was really delighted by this gesture. I would highly recommend for anyone to stay here, whether traveling with family, couple or solo. It is a good feel place with relaxing and warm vibes, clean, cordial staff and an excellent location. A motto of County Kerry in Irish is “Comhar, Cabhair, Cairdeas”, which translates to “Cooperation, Help, Friendship”. This is the exact experience I received while staying at the Old Weir lodge, Killarney. I look forward very much to coming back next year. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Go raibh maith agaibh!…

We had a lovely stay in a family room with breakfast included. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room was comfortable and quiet to the rear of the property. We frequently visit Killarney and to have found this gem is a godsend. Can’t see us staying anywhere else but here, in future. It’s homely, it’s comfortable. It’s close to the town. It has a small bar, free private parking & wifi.

Old Weir was a fantastic stop on our tour of Ireland following our wedding. We were able to rest, get laundry done, enjoy great breakfasts and have a relaxing stay. A huge shoutout to Niall for the superb level of communication and for both Linda and Noreen - true, genuine superstars full of helpful information and assistance.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Weir Lodge. The family room we booked was spacious and clean. The staff was so friendly and inviting. The location is perfect. Just a short walk to all the restaurants and pubs. We booked a bus tour for the Ring of Kerry with Wild Kerry Day Tours and we walked to meet the bus.

This was our second time staying at the Old Weir Lodge. We continue to be impressed. The rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Breakfast is served in a charming space and there is a lot of variety, from fresh fruit to a full breakfast cooked to order. Walking distance from town. We would love to stay here again.
